Dude, it's seriously just a low pressure media blast. I just don't talk about the media, because it took me some time and money to figure all of this out. There isn't anything controversial about it. Also, that is just a last chance inspection during part surface prep. As you can see in emails I've released, we have found voids in magnacut at every step in our process. I have never seen anything like this in any other material processing. We have finished aluminum, titanium, steel, brass... This is a Magnacut issue.
hey Guy, what angle do you sharpen the EDC4 bevel to? How about the GSO 5.1s? Also, you promised an updated handle materials video. Coming soon? Some things have changed (black & red looks different, camo G10 looks much better now, etc?). And the corrsion resistance test you've been doing, how's that looking?

Is k890 like a tool steel that will patina over time or is it stainless? I looked at the composition but am no metallurgist lol.
K890 is a tool steel, with corrosion resistance on par with M4. It has a lot of amazing properties that makes a great knife, but it is not a stainless. We will be doing updates on GSO-4.5a very shortly. We just are trying to knock out a big chunk of EDC-4s real quick, so we can stop scattering our energy and focus on getting projects involving Magnacut and the last of the big knives wrapped up.
With all the cpm concerns. I’ve seen recent posts of people asking if they should be concerned about their magnacut or 3v knife that they already have. I’ve seen you answer with a short response that you are confident with the knives that leave your shop, and that you put them through some abuse testing before they leave your shop. Could you do a short video to explain in more detail what type of abuse testing do you do and do you do it with every knife or just random ones. Maybe this could help alleviate some of the concerns of people that already have your knives in those steels.
I was wondering what the camo micarta looked like. That's what I ordered on mine. Looks good, hopefully it goes well with the FDE kydex. I'm not sure what FDE looks like.

Guy for us waiting on the magmacut gso 5.1 I know you are having magmacut issues but alot of us have no idea if your changing steels on our year old pre orders or if your able to do magnacut it's hard cause I can't just call ya I am obviously waiting for it I can't wait to have one but just hoping Mayne you coils shed some light on what your doing with our 5.1 magmacut orders are we going to see them this year or what's happening changing or not changing steels etc..thanks boss
Good morning! I've mentioned in several videos and emails that it is our intention to fulfill every open order as it was placed. As Bob Shabala liked to point out in his email, they have sold over a half million pounds of magnacut so far. I'm curious if anything has changed with these latest heats. We don't need to get many sheets to close out open orders, so I'm just going to keep buying that material until orders are fulfilled. If it's great, we will know that, if the issues that I'm seeing are persisting, we will know that too. In the meantime, we will also continue to expand on our European grade offerings.
Do you have standard GSO 4.5’s close to finished in any steel options? I’d be interested in Delta 3V or K890 if Magnacut isn’t going to be shipping anytime soon. I’d happily take whichever steel was available first.
We don't currently have that model in 3V, at all. The K890 and Magnacut are wrapping up now. I will keep you guys in the loop. Most things are nearing the end of production.
Guy, I need your advice. I am waiting on two 5.1s and a Bushcraft all in Magnacut. Should I switch steels to speed up the process? The type of steel doesn't matter to me. If the wait is the same no mater the steel, I can wait. Thanks.
Most of those are finishing up, so I don't believe changing steels would necessarily net any gains in time. The faster progress of the new European grades is giving us the energy back to finish out some of these other projects. We're getting it done, I've got you.

I just put axe wax on my brown canvas micarta edc 4 then bam I see this. That wax makes the micarta POP beyond belief!
