It's nice hearing what Harlow sounds like barking. She's such a quiet pup.

Harlow is amazing. Even though you were making her food she's like "Hey, take a break."
    Good dog!
You should get a barstool tall enough that your hips are at the same hight they are when you're standing. That way you can prep while sitting.
That or prep at the dinner table.

Again, thank you so much for sharing your life here. You have inspired me to find a pain management doctor. I saw her the first time Tuesday. She is wonderful, and she has given me so much hope for having less pain in the future. I have to see an EDS safe neurosurgeon next week about my neck, and I've seen an oral surgeon to help with my jaw. I am optimistic for the first time in a very long time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Cindy Hayes how did things go with your pain doctor? I had a great one, but then had to switch to a different insurance and all new doctors... and they’re insanely against opioid pain medication. I want my other doctors back; they aren’t paranoid. They have empathy. The so-called “opioid crisis” is just punishing people with actual pain.

I'm so glad you're pain free! I've had multiple injections to try and alleviate my chronic pain (specifically my right hip) and none of them worked. However I've also had multiple hip surgeries which could be why the pain in that joint is much worse than all of the others. It also takes me roughly two hours to fall asleep at night due to unbearable joint pain so I'm happy that you slept well. The life of a chronic illness warrior, we just gotta take things day by day and appreciate any relief we can get, even if other symptoms are having a flare up.

So happy to learn you are having less pain. I love when Harlow tries to show you she can bark and she makes the cutest face and her ear's flop and the look on her face is adorable. What a sweet girl to remind you about your POTS and that Harlow is always aware of your medical needs to the best of her ability. What a love bug and dedicated pup.

So glad that your pain is allieviated using this treatment. I know what its like to be given something that helps your pain or another symptom but also having or forgetting to be mindful that doing a lot can have its repercussions when battling several illnesses.

Hey Jaquie! I've been watching your videos for awhile but I think this is the first time I've actually commented. I just want to say that I love watching your videos, because your positive attitude and determination really inspires me. I am not a chronic illness warrior myself, but I do have depression and anxiety so some days are definitely worse than others! I have also learned so much about service dogs and the proper etiquette of being around them! Thanks for making such awesome daily vlogs :)

Yes, depression and anxiety are chronic illnesses. They are long term and life altering. So falls under the definition. I suffer with both as well. Stay strong. Spoons to you💗

    • @abbygambrel1967
      @abbygambrel1967 7 лет назад +2

Thank you to both of you for educating me on that! I thought that the term "chronic illness" only referred to physical ailments, but I definitely can see now that depression and anxiety are chronic illnesses. So I guess I am also a chronic illness warrior because I've had depression and anxiety for almost seven years now.

    • @030397mcp

Chronic illness are more often than not invisible by just looking at someone. And your brain is an organ just like your heart and liver are, and with a mental illness that organ is sick, it has a lack of dopamine and serotonin. Both real Chemicals that that organ needs to function properly. Just like other organs missing something to function, it can mess up any and all of your bodies systems. It’s mental but as an organ that’s lacking something it needs, that’s physical.

I had no idea no one educated me and after ten years of suffering your help on how to manage pain, on how to do what’s possible and be okay and happy with it!
And also how to educate people about it, people though I was lazy!
    So thank you💙 I’m a happier person now :)

In former times l needed 5 times a day 4 to 5 capsules with my drugs. Now it's so much easier! But l now how you feel, in every single part! I'm chronicly asthmatic, fibomyalgia very strong, and so many others! But l never give up and sometimes l give all my pain to jesus, and it really works! Not allways the same, but it works. Hey Jaquie, I'm sure you've heard this before but because I've been there, I wanted to mention that literally all your issues are symptoms of Lyme Disease. Also the test for Lyme are extremely inaccurate so many people get misdiagnosed with other illnesses. Pots, pain, fatigue, irregular heart rate, balance issues and on and on are Lyme related. I was ill for years and finally found a LLMD(Lyme literate medical doctor). After 4 years of treatment I was cured. Just couldn't not mention it. You are so inspiring with you're positive attitude and how you deal with chronic illness. I hope that one day you can find answers for a cure.

Such an amazing day for you, Jaquie. The content, happy look on your face at 11:20 was beautiful to see. I wish you had more days like this, but I can relate. I have horrible 24/7, 365 chronic pain and what I would give for an hour of painfree time! Nice to see your mom - I feel like it's been a while. Haha, I love watching how bouncy Harlow got when she was supposed to 'speak'. She looked like she was part kangaroo! She was all over you when you were on the floor because you were on her turf. My dog is the same way. You do not dare sit on the floor in our house without the understanding that you will be forced to give tummy rubs and be on the receiving end of many, many puppy kisses. xoxox Heather🇨🇦

I am so excited that Janiece got you hooked on Glee! I love that show! I started to watch it when it went into syndication on the Oxygen network a few years ago and fell in love with it. There are so many big star cameos in it you are gonna freak. I made a 20 song CD of all my favorite Christmas songs and listen to it every year at Christmas time. Also, if your interested , and if it is on Netflix, check out Smash. It was on NBC for a season or two and was kind of a more grown up version of Glee. Anyway, I am babbling. I hope you enjoy and wish you, Judd and Harlow all the best.

I've been having knee problems and i totally understand how you feel good so you want to push yourself more, i always end up rehurting myself and i finally had to go to the dr this time because my knee kept me dowm for a full week and a half and i keep trying to do more but my leg reminds me i can't.. I even get frustrated myself because growing up with my knee problems i had to basically act like nothing was wrong because my mom would shame me for being sick or in pain and i have to teach myself to stop that and let my body actually tell me what it needs not the other way around lol

Hey Jaquie! I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia when I was 4. I've had every aspect of Dysautonomia. From seizures to syncope. I was just diagnosed with Ehrlers Danlos last week. I'm pretty sure I have Gastroperesis as well, but won't know until after January 2018 (thats the closest date I can get into the GI doctor). I haven't been able to eat anything at all in a like a week, and every time I do eat, I throw it back up. I'm losing weight like wildfire spreads. I've lost 5lbs in less than a week, and 25-30lbs in less than a month. Any suggestions? Thank you!

    • @ChronicallyJaquie
      @ChronicallyJaquie  7 лет назад +4

I am so sorry you are struggling! GP seems to go with Dysautonomia. The vagus nerve is the largest nerve in the ANS, and a damaged/faulty Vagus nerve can cause GP. I personally wish you could be seen sooner because you will need testing to confirm or rule out GP, which will take time. In the mean time, try finding your safe foods. For me, that is bread. I also use Kate Farms oral nutritional shakes. They may not work for you, but they help me. That is what I sip on when my tube kinks. There are other types of shakes out there too though.

Chronically Jaquie thank you for replying so quickly! I'm only 16 and I really don't think this is the way for 16 year olds (or anyone for that matter) to live. I have some nutritional shakes called Pedisure. I got them from the PICU a few months back. But they feel too heavy on my stomach (idk if that makes sense), and it comes right back up. Even with a few sips. Water does the same thing. And you know, with POTS, drinking lots of water and staying hydrated is key. But i cant! Ugh it's extremely discouraging and upsetting. I just wanna be normal! Sorry for this (I hate complaining but sometimes I just need to talk about it)! Thank you for replying so quickly!

It’s so funny how much more sensitive different peoples bodies are! I have orthostatic hypo tension (which some docs say is the same as POTS and POTS is just a fancy name for it!!!!!).... most often anytime I stand, my blood pressure is not measureable by an electronic cuff and my HR is well into the 130.... although I get dizzy most days, I feel like my body has totally adapted....my heart rate goes into the 200’s with any brisk walking or anything. I get exhausted....but I never faint (I do fall at times) but I work full time as a nurse and I scare my colleagues when they take my BP at work....but my body has totally figured out how to work with it!!!!

In my country (holland) we have troubled too but here it's called 'mensen erger je niet' transleted it means 'human don't get so agetated'😂. My dad, me and my niece of 7 were playing it a while ago. My dad and i were really serious about it and my niece barley payed any attention and she won!!! Aaaargh! We were so frustrated but it was fun. Just wanted to share that family moment with you.😋

I'm SO happy that you've found a great dr who has helped u get ur pain down!! 🙌🙌 Im 32 n have lived with chronic pain and illnesses since my teens so I def understand how huge that is!!
I'm curious do you have any tips or suggestions for someone that might be thinking abt talking to their dr or researching doing the treatments that have helped you? Obsv the injections would be more person specific. Just curious if you have any advice ect.

Hi Jaquie! I've been meaning to ask, how does your roomba (?) handle all of Harlow's fur? Does it ever have problems with picking up dog hair or getting clogged or anything? I've been considering getting one to help me keep up with cleaning my SDiT's fur, since vacuuming can be hard for me, but he's a rough collie so he's very furry like Harlow! 🐶Thanks! Also, super glad you're having less pain! That's amazing! 😊💜

Morgin and Baymax you should check out the video where she gets the roomba. She praises how well it deals with Harlow’s fur and kinda goes over how it works and setting up

I think you need a bigger house where you can use your power assist wheel chair around the house, I know you don't wanna depend on it entirely for everything but maybe you can use it to do house chores to get and keep your energy level up a bit. Thank god your dog was there when your blood pressure dropped - it's nice she's always with you. Well get well soon.

Im so glad you are feeling better! Glad that Harlow alerted you :) Ever thought of getting an Apple Watch? You can constantly monitor your heart rate and it also alerts when your heart rate is up

I am not a fan of apple lol but my doctor told me those watches really are not as accurate as a PulseOx. Janiece had a fitbit that worked for a while but now it is totally off. So it is not worth the money in my opinion, I just keep my PulseOx nearby. And Harlow lol

Chronically Jaquie Should have known you already thought about that! Lol Harlow is way cuter than an Apple watch anyway!

I totally understand being really excited to do things because of better symptom management but then the POTS being like "oh don't do to much please" lol Its tough to find that balance sometimes. I also use my walker in the kitchen to sit when I need to. Your luck to have Harlow to alert to you! That's part of the reason I hope to have an SD that can alert some day because sometimes I just need someone there to say "hey, sit down a minute!" when I am on a roll lol

super late in the day watching this video, but it bring up 2 questions I have- first, ever been to the Candlelight Processional to see NPH? I’d love to go, but the timing never works out.. kids and school and such. Second, when you go to Disney, with the new stricter security, so they ever ask to check Harlow’s packs?
So glad you are feeling better!

You need to use fresh parmesan cheese. There is a reason it tastes like sawdust! They use sawdust as a filler in the dried stuff. You can get fresh shredded at the store. It doesn't keep as long, but it tastes SO much better.
