    I wish they had more soul chargers tho. it feels awkward. But I am really happy with Himiko, I hope I can pull her from packs right away. I also like witch of frogs field disruption, I can see that card causing a lot of headaches in certain match-ups, especially accel clans :) Thank you for your video, good work as usual !

    By the way Bro, I am curious if you will build a Witches OTT deck. I am seriously considering putting Battle Sister Torte in the deck, because of how many cards in hand the Witches can sustain. She might also solve the problem of not really having that much "finisher" cards in their build. with how fast witches can build the soul and support rear guards Torte may be quite at home with the Witches IMO :)

    in play testing, starting a trigger lost me games 9/10 times. the draw starter gave far more advantage since you get 1 more card in hand gets combo peices or grades. honestly I think running a trigger starter is a bit of a noob trap.

    • @captingamer29
      @captingamer29 5 лет назад

      I kind of doubt that. You did not lose due to not drawing one card. Starting with a crit means you have the potential to blow people out turn 3 since you can actually pull of Himiko on turn 3. I, personally, would say the exact opposite. I've won far more games starting with a trigger because it, more often than not, doesn't make my initial grade 3 ride turn vanilla.

    • @rds1659
      @rds1659 5 лет назад

      @@captingamer29 you see not drawing that 1 card actually did loosing me several games. The combination of missing grades or damage checking a key card that would have been drawn kept making early game plays more risky and even Himiko turns felt forced since it came down to do it or die. For me the draw starter just gives so much more value and maxing out Sahohime pretty much guaranteed Himiko to be live on turn 3 for me. I'm still play testing triggers for a starter but so far it isn't doing much other than making me fall a card short of my opponent.

    • @captingamer29
      @captingamer29 5 лет назад

      @@rds1659 It doesnt guarantee it though. You need 7 fairly specific cards in hand without running a trigger in your hand. Grade 1 ride, Grade 2 ride, Himiko, Sahohime/Iwanagahime, the correct trigger, 2 soul reducers, 7 cards in total. Just doing 10 mock up hands, Himiko is live less then half of the time on turn 3 with the normal draw starter. You might just be really lucky, but probability wise, it is statistically unlikely to get off Himiko on turn 3 with the normal starter.

    • @rds1659
      @rds1659 5 лет назад

      @@captingamer29 you use this argument without taking into consideration that the "7" cards you need are able to be drawn throughout the game, and in drive checks. running a trigger starter means you have 1 less trigger in deck, and you fall short 1 card. running the regular starter means you open up more peices of your deck and have all 16 triggers in access to your deck. overall your "7" card argument for why a trigger starter is better than a regular is pretty weak since its whole basis is to run the trigger as starter to make that "7" go to a "6" without needing RNG to get the trigger into soul when the RNG that you get any of the cost reducers and grades goes up for not running the v-starter since you open less cards. Bottom line getting more cards is always better than trying to force consistency the plussing will give better options to route to your end game win-cons. PS by running a trigger starter you are pretty much giving up on using Sahohime like at all before grade 3 since it's a waste to use any of the reducers on a SB 2 that refunds half its self and draws you a card while gaining power.

    This deck seriously has problems
    1. You're going to be in a lot disadvantages by running trigger starters
    2. Putting triggers into soul is easier than you think
    3. I see no reason why you don't run Achilles as he is a free soul charge as I said with your set review soul charging something irrelevant may turn to an advantage later on
    4. As I said with Number 3, Achilles is good because you don't soul charge that much he is basically a good card to create soul a good card that will be used in most decks
    5. Melissa may disrupt your opponent's Field but putting it at 4 is stupid as you need the soul for other more important cards
    Your deck uses a total of 44 Soul without including Ulixies and the SB reducers, if I include them your deck uses a total of 22 Soul which is still very high if you completely cut Melissa and add Achilles this would turn to a total of 6 Soul
    Overall I rate this deck 3.2/5 as it is too inconsistent in soul and the fact that you get so much disadvantages for not running some cards which you're blindly judging by their mere skills rather than their interactions with other key cards
    Your deck building skills honestly needs some work this deck is by far the one of the worst decks I have ever seen. For the people reading this go ahead and reply to this comment that I'm a rude fucking bitch go ahead I don't care all I'm saying is the truth and even if the truth hurts still we can't escape the facts that make us who we are all we need is practice and experience to get better at what we do.

    • @captingamer29
      @captingamer29 5 лет назад +1

      1. How so? Explain the "a lot of disadvantages". Do you realize how many cards it takes to use Himiko on turn 3 without starting with a trigger?
      2. Sure it's easy, but it isn't easy to do it by turn 3 while getting off Himiko. The whole reason with starter with a trigger is so you can get off Himiko on turn 3 majority of the time. If you do not starter with a trigger you need, the correct trigger in hand, a way to get the trigger into soul which is mostly through sahohime. You need a soul reducer for Sahohime, then you'll need a soul reducer for Himiko. There are a few different combinations to do this, but on average you need 4 cards not including grades 1-3 for riding. That's just simply not likely to happen by turn 3 and if it does for you. you are very lucky.
      3. I agree in running a feww Achilles, but lists that have top do not run any.
      4. I pretty much agree.
      5. Every list that has topped plays 4 of her, though I only play 3.

    I dont feel like its a must to start with a trigger; You can get punished hard early game at some matchups with 0 possibility of comeback.

    • @VanguardInsider
      @VanguardInsider  5 лет назад

      that's definitly true, but at the same time you can make the argument that running it as a starter is a viable strong option as you can potenically OTK on your grade 3 turn if you attack with a 3 crit 43k vanguard attack its all matter of opinion, but thats why I included it in my alternate options.

    • @fahrenheart5906
      @fahrenheart5906 5 лет назад

      @@VanguardInsider Oh sorry if I sounded like I was questioning your list, didnt mean to! I was just evaluating another option :) . I totally agree that a draw trigger as starter can take the value back; But Isnt it a bit rushy-1forall starting with a crit?

    • @VanguardInsider
      @VanguardInsider  5 лет назад +1

      O no no I don't mind if people throw different idea's opinions that's the whole idea of the comment section :D, but yeah that's definitly an issue becasue running V-starter, a draw trigger or a crit trigger as a starter has it's own ups and down sides
      V-starter -> overall more safe route have a early extra draw that can fix a grade stuck hand or fix a early key piece and at the same time can help survive early aggro/ accel builds but doesn't give any extra early pressure
      draw trigger ->your sitting on a lower hand size in the first 4/5 turns but when you ride to himiko you can easly get extra pluses without wasting a trigger from hand but again just like the V-starter this doesn't give high pressure and can lose out against stall/late game combo decks like OTT and gears as you give them time to setup
      crit trigger -> your sitting at a lower hand size then any of the other options but agianst most clans you can make a killing/decisive blow as you can crit them when the are still ar grade 2 against protect you can easily push them to high damage or criple their hand by splitting the crits. but you're vulnerable to high aggro builds that attack heavy earrly game as you have no good plus engine in the first few turns.
      It's all a matter of preference and what gameplay you like more ^^ If TOP 8 goes back to best out of 3 this is something that can help alot after game 1 as you can alter you gameplan as you know what type of deck your opponent is playing.

    • @fahrenheart5906
      @fahrenheart5906 5 лет назад +1

      Totally right. The fact that its not best of 3 until top 8.. Competitive wise; running a crit as starter ; If you are the one riding first.. can be deadly. But hey, after maining genesis for so long Im glad we have several options and whats more important; Identity! :)

    • @VanguardInsider

    it does not make sense when you put apostrophe in to 'combos' but with your same reasoning then you would also put it to 'plays' that is next to it. neither of them would be correct with an apostrophe.

    @VanguardInsider, I have a question that I haven't been able to answer, even when looking on the Internet. When using Melissa's skill, the opponent puts new cards from the deck on the top of the existing rearguards. What happens to the previous rearguards? Are they put into the drop zone? When the opponent retires the rearguards, does he/she put the whole thing (card on top and card on bottom) into the drop zone? Cheers!

    I personally agree with starting with a trigger, yeah you lose one card, but the trade off is 9 times out of 10 not being vanilla on your grade 3 ride. Starter with the regular starter requires so many more combo pieces to get off Himiko, especially by turn 3.

    • @TheElite711
      @TheElite711 5 лет назад

      @@vanguard_diva3253 No, I usually split the Crit + Power among all 3 fronts, so they hit for 2 damage per. Now granted, they usually block all the hits and that alone can be quite a useful boon, but they usually rebound off of it and go in.
