Had a two day fishing trip with Rapid River Outfitters. Not Roy but Ben (one of the guides). Was the best experience ever, and caught my personal biggest steelhead (the steelhead that dreams are made of). These guys are great, and well worth the trip.

I just caught a 41 inch steelhead Nov 18 near the Snake confluence. Unfortunately measured off my pic and swim deck of a 28 ft Bentz Boat., no pic of fish and tape. But a giant either way.

What he says at 20:45 is ignorant if the hatchery fish are from wild brood stock of the same river it does nothing but good if they spawn in the wild it just means more spawning and returning fish while the hatcheries are only spawning a fraction of the fish they get and usually killing the rest even though they could return again if released

They are not from the Salmon they primarily are from the snake river stock as compensation for the dismantling of the basin above HCC and the hatchery steelhead lack something that prevents them from spawning with wild steelhead meaning no hybridization; however, there have been cases to prove otherwise but those are extremely rare. While the hatchery fish compete and fight for the area on the river.
