I have had two Gen 2 and now a Gen three. In the video you were winding the RPM's out to far. Shifting sooner takes advantage of it's torque.

I'm fortunate that in my journey riding motorcycles, I've had every bike I've ever wanted. Last year i sold my Pan America and bought a KLR. I love the fact that I can do all the work on the thing with out having a proprietary computer program. Simplicity, value, reliability, and an unbelievable community, makes this my favorite bike of all time. Thanks for your honest review!

Thank you for taking the time to comment and to share your experience. The character of the klr650 is undeniable and I can understand why riders have moved away for the larger adv bikes. Its such a simple piece of equipment and I would rather fix a klr issue than a pan america or gs on the road. Stay safe and again thank you!

my 22 fits my needs perfectly. I don't do any real hard off roading with it, but man I can just hop on it and take off, I may be gone an hr or I may be gone all day. It's nice and simple, yet it's still has a good modern feel to it. No need for a tach, it's not a race bike. A gear indicator would be nice, but not needed. Just a great all around machine

Thanks for providing your experiences. I very much enjoy the KLR. As you said its simple and as I mentioned it will do anything you ask and just keep going. Great bike for little money what more can you ask for. Appreciate you for taking the time and hope you stay safe.

You can’t beat the price and for someone who isn’t looking for super off-road rides it will do just fine! If it is the difference between motocamping or not then the klr lets you get out there.

Absolutely! The KLR is such a simple machine and amazing reliability that it's still, to this day, the most inexpensive bike for its capabilities. We got so caught up in more power for so long but I think more riders are realizing more power doesn't always mean better. Appreciate you for sharing your thoughts they are always welcome. Stay safe
