Staff is such a broken item. I won't go as far as saying it is overpowered, but it's a get out of jail free card that hurts the game for night elf oppoonents I feel like... cooldown needs to be extended or it need to be a finite number of uses I think...
That is actually a really good idea. Make the elf preserve staff have a number of charges, so they have to buy them again. I really like that, cuz it doesnt take away the staff for them, but puts a bit more limit on it. The extended cd is good idea as well, i think either one would be an effective way to keep the item, while improving its balance.
Just curious, why am i hearing about direct strike so much lately, grubby playing it and neo/remo talking about it. Is it a new custom game, or old? and whichever is true, did it just recently start getting popular in the wc3 community or what?

its a SC2 custom map, adopted in WC3.
We play it for ~9 month i think? its been added to the non-melee section of W3Champions and its CRAZY popular
pretty old map, played DesertStrike in sc2 in like ~2011
