The video I didn’t know I needed!!! 😍 Could you possibly do one like where if you’re tired of super heavy adult books but don’t want just meaningless drivel that you can’t get into, what are some good YA or light adult books that still have some meat in them to keep you engaged without being heavy? If that makes sense?!?!

I just read my first Emily Henry book Happy Place and I enjoyed it. I will definitely try Beach Read. The two fantasy recommendations are spot on for beginners as I am a beginner to fantasy and I started with Fourth Wing. Fourth Wing is what started me to reading fantasy. I am currently reading ACOTAR and was told to read that series first as it is for beginners and then move to Throne of Glass as it has more world building.

I have some recommendations for books that are science fiction or straddle that genre but also have other elements, like romance. I think you would enjoy them.
These two are the first book in a series:
Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik (first of a three book series focusing on sisters.)
Only Bad Options by Jennifer Estep (first of a four book series, thus far)
    Standalones:
Crosstalk by Connie Willis (This author is a grand dame of science fiction, winner of many awards. This book is very accessible to the non science fiction reader)
The Impossible Us by Sarah Lotz (Not sure if this can be classified as science fiction or a paranormal featuring alternate worlds, but it's very good.)

What a great video!! I've been confused about all the sub genres and just not sure about what books fall into what. I've avoided reading Fourth Wing so far but maybe I'll give it a try. I'm going to Alaska in June so ordered The Simple Wild to take on my trip. I own Legends and Lattes already so will move it up on my to be read list.

I just don't like any of Emily Henry books. I've tried 3 of her books and can't finish them. Just lost interest. I love a clean romance but I do read all different kinds of books. I'm going to check out a few of your recommendations. Thanks for doing this video.

I read Emily Henry’s first book and wasn’t impressed. Haven’t been tempted to try more.😊
