Although this strafe seems like something you would do when you troll somebody, it can definitely be used in a real fight. The fact that you can juke an enemy this hard while shooting them makes this strafe worth learning. This strafe has a really high skill ceiling, so don't get discourage when learning it.
I am a console player who loves movement and at this point I don't want tap strafing gone it's super cool I just want to be able to do it on console

or a direct keybind for movements like w a s d rather than moving the left stick up down left and right.
like being able to remap left stick Up aka moving forward to like a paddle or something.
or they can make it so u can just keep spamming left stick upwards for multiple forward inputs making a tap strafe.
game mechanics probably don’t allow most of those to be done but they r relatively possible ways.
@@heisenberg368 literally the reason that makes impossible to do tap strafe on controller is that on pc the analog inputs are binded to w a s d keys, but on console its actually possible
@@iam_sansa no, it is impossible on console as you cannot lurge. You can tap strafe on a controller connected to a PC but you can't tap on the console itself.

I god imagine doing with a bloodhound ult, literally unstoppable, full health, thermal vision, and SPEED.
just tried it and FUCK that is busted. strat is spam asd while scrolliong up and down and spamming ctrl. its not perfect but you still become mad hard to kill + the enemies are easier to see

It seems unfair but people do put in the time to learn these techniques. Tap strafing is just something Respawn needs to introduce to console rather than remove for PC players.

i feel like when u get the fundementals of basic movements, u can experiment alot in fights and you will easilt get used to finding new or old movement tech. like i did ras movement without even knowing about it

you can do this with controller too. at elast on pc even without configs. Just steam settings
I'm on ps5 and I don't want tap strafe to be gone, I just want them to make it possible for controller to. Let's be honest, if tap strafe is gone it really smalls down the amount of movement techniques but we want movement. If it was possible on cotroller to people win because of skill and if you're too lazy to learn a tap strafe it's your own fault
Or just switch to m&k if you want to enjoy the game's movement.

I did this with bloodhunt ult and my enemies missed ALL of their shots.....too bad my aim is sht, then the ult ended and I died

W is his move foward key, but yes I believe a lot of players keybind jump to their scroll wheel simply for the tap strafing
your secondary bind for move forward should be scroll up and secondary bind for jump should be scrolldown
Console player here! I don't think we all want tap strafing removed. I love the movement potential in the game and if someone has taken the time to learn hard tech, more power to them. It's super cool just how much potential there is in this game
I switched and it’s easy plus people use scripts most of the time

We controller players don't want tapstrafe gone, we want the ability to tapstrafe ourselves, it's a lot of pc players that want aim assist out. Tbh, I say we get all the movement possibilities from pc and get aim assist nerfed

@@Ruka_ flickstrafing is not even close to tap strafing. with taping strafing you can change your direction while keeping your momentum at any time while flickstrafing is limited to octane pads, only can change direction up to 90 degrees and you dont keep your momentum.
@@justcool3163 well no, i have xbox friend using flickstrafe on ground too, and they dont have as much momentum as me on pc but its still enough to be speedy and dodge bullets

I wish this were possible on Xbox I've tried but when I try to tap strafe like that it shoots me out way wider then throws me into a dead slide... And I have good movement for being on Xbox I know it's not just me the controller literally stops me from curving back in so fast even at 500 yaw because when your on controller you don't have wasd so you have to look the right direction and it's near impossible to do that while turning your view
the movement coding was made for xbox that’s why we aren’t able to do all these exploits, the coding comes from titian fall which was xbox exclusive for years

Tap strafing doesnt need to go it needs to be nerfed when playing with console players like console aim assist is set to pc values (aka lowered/nerfed) when lobbying with PC players.
How Idk but its a cool mechanic that makes the game unique. Just kind of unfair for a console player to have to deal with that. Its your own fault if you own a pc and play on it with controller so no complaint there
They should just let console players use it. Not like most of them would be capable of using it very effectively anyways

At the end of the day it's your choice whether or not you want to tap strafe, but I think it is useful to know. The purpose of my content is to educate and encourage people but obviously not force them to learn tap strafing. I'm completely fine with people who are not interested in movement :)

The best counter to tap strafing is for the devs to make it more accessible. I remember Overwatch had a similar problem with Lucio's wall glide but there was one Brazilian master on rollouts at that time (DSPStanky). However, when Blizzard made it easier for Lucio to perform the feats he made, it also made his enemies better as his feats are more common and predictable. Eventually he quit in frustration.
I do wonder if Respawn would give everyone the ability to strafe dodge without the complexity of tap strafing. Would it elevate the skill ceiling for everyone to the point learning tap-strafing becomes irrelevant?
Holy shit I forgot all about DSPStanky I used to watch him all the time when I was grinding to GM.
Its impossible to make tap strafing possible on console without rewriting the games code. The mechanic it utilizes is called lurch and only works on kbm due to the inputs only registering from a digital source like kbm.
They lowered the skill ceiling making all dsp's practice for nothing. Now lucio gameplay is unimpressive
