I absolutely love the first Animal Crossing. I got it when I went off to college in 2004. It was my first time living away from home, I was stressed about my classes and my depression was at its worst. This game got me through all those rough times and it will always have a special place in my heart. 💚
This game helped me through a major depressive episode as a kid and I owe it a lot! I also listen to the soundtrack almost every day still as it helps put me into a flow state quicker than any other music. Great video!
6:44 FINALLY!😂. I just started playing new leaf and had never seen Gaston before; but I swear he’s supposed to be a serial killer. You’re the first person I’ve seen acknowledge it. Every one else just seems to see him as a French guy; But the music playing in his house is terrifying, his house itself is a murder shack, his skill is ventriloquism (which is a French thing, but why that French thing?) he dresses/acts like a 70s serial killer. Hell his birthday is even close to Halloween😂 (Oct.28)
I'm 36 now and I played this back starting in 2004 I believe it was. One of my favorites :)

me and my mom loved this game when we stumbled across it and played it daily untill the next on DS was released we had such a great time and it was a great escape from the harsh reallife!
My mom plays Animal Crossing too! I got her into New Leaf and eventually New Horizons, even Wild World when she found a copy.
@@TreyTheWilliam its a great game especially for starter! Since my moms wild world copy got lost due my brother moving out i just bought and downloaded it on the wii u b4 the eshop closes
I think the reason they capped villagers at 10 for new leaf and new horizons is because they didn't want to overcrowd the towns. They wanted players to have plenty of space for Public Works Projects and the like.
Also I feel like at a point having more villagers doesn't really change anything, eventually you have so many that the expect number doesn't matter l. 10 feels like a good amount, but having 15 feels like something you'd do just to have more of them

The #1 thing that i miss is the personality of villagers. Every villager is so boring and nice in new horizons, i want to have a variety of spicy villagers present too.

Oh also i am sorry but the gamecube music SLAPS and ks MILES better than ANY other installment of animal crossing. I don't care about wild world's music. New leaf music sucks ass. New horizons music has way too many guitars. Gamecube? Every. Single. Track. Feel like they belong to their respective hours. They genuinely feel like they would be playing in real life. They all remind me of my childhood. And guess what? I first played this game in 2021! Yet the tracks perfectly recall all my childhood memories.

@@TreyTheWilliam i just don't like it personally. Almost all the hourly themes sound really boring, none of them are really fun to listen to recreationally to me. Even in game, I don't really like it. It's one of the few games where i have my headphones on all the time and I don't feel bad about not listening to the hourly themes.

Just ordered a second memory card so I can get foreign fruits for myself 🥲 I first played this game in 2016/2017 when I found the disc for $1 at a garage sale. I play it on my Wii with a GameCube controller plugged in. Its 2023 and I’m playing it again.
I’ve played New Leaf and New Horizons and even though the QOL and features are a lot better in those games, the actual gameplay of the “official” original feels much more alive and rewarding.
