I used to play it on the Xbox 360 SLim but it's power brick emitted smoke so I got a cheap $40 one from Cash COnverters, logged in and installed Hydro Thunder, I still pull it out in 2024, you can also play it on One or Series X but 360 is more fun.

This is a very underrated game id wish Hydro Thunder Hurricane were released on other consoles such as PS4 n Nintendo Switch maybe as a remaster

As a kid i played the hell out of the original game, the machine probably ate 400$ worth of quarters from me before it was removed.
I only ever got the chance to play the arcade version a few times, not many places near me had it, but any time I did, it was so much fun
This game, small arms, heavy weapon, Splosion man, cloning Clyde, full house poker, Assault heros 2, N+ and surfs up the game demo were some of the best Xbox arcade games i ever played as a kid.
This game is so full of fun and nostalgia, I still play it on my Xbox 360 and Xbox one S

You can still get it on the new Xboxs, even Series X/S
The graphics aren't crazy but man, you get this on a 120' projector screen and you'll be addicted
It's gameplay is just as good as any other racing game

You know coming from a gamer who plays primarily Fighting/Beat em Up games hydro thunder hurricane was my hands down favorite racing game.
Similar story here, only recently downloaded it again for nostalgia and bought tempest 100% recommend tempest pack as it’s one of my favorite dlc purchases
This makes you wish for a reboot of Hydro Thunder, complete with beautiful graphics and a crystal blue water, boats being able to have dings and scratches as they take cosmetic damages from either the competition, or from the environment, having a few new boats, and hell, even a story mode for a special boat that can only be unlocked for other modes after completing story mode.
And the story boat’s name? Basilisk
I agree... Hydro Thunder deserves a reboot and like I said before, Hydro Thunder deserves a proper remake/remaster..

Yea I remember when I first got my Xbox I remember I had the demo of hydro thunder hurricane and I loved it so much that I got the full game and the dlc

The best racing game on water and maybe of all time and its the memorability in the tracks they are really memorable and fun to go through i have 1000+ hours on this game cuz i love it so much
Theres a frozen ufo in the second level in a secret tunnel that's a shortcut, you might miss it but if you take it slow and look to your left you'll see it
This is one of the earliest games i played on xbox 360 many years ago i haven't played in ab 10 years now only recently remembered this game exist. This was a goated game back then

I still play the first one on the Dreamcast. Then I have it on Midway Treasures on the OG Xbox. Then bought the advanced version in the store on the Xbox one X. 👍

this games is so nostalgic, when I was young playing the demo are one of the best memory i got in my childrenhood
I've only had good experiences playing the game except for getting some skins. I play it on both 360 and Xbox one, and there aren't any differences that I can see, so pretty on track. I am also yet to get friends to play to see what they think about it, but I myself enjoy this game fully!
I want to play this game more, but I don't stay subscribed to xbox live gold because I only have a 360, and none of my friends play it
There was a glitch i knew on the demo to use one of the locked boats, and tracks on the 360. I figured it out when i was 7 years old and was very proud of myself

@@PinchedCake6 it only works on the misbehave, but make sure when you're looking at damn the torpedos, quickly swipe over to the misbehave and hit A at the same time. You have to do it really fast. It also works on one of the tracks

You know, I've got a similar story to yours about my time with this game. On Christmas Day in 2011, my sister and I received an Xbox 360 with Kinect as a gift, and it came with Just Dance 3 and Kinect Adventures. One day, I downloaded a few game demos on the console, and one of them was Hydro Thunder Hurricane. And just last year, I ended up buying the full game for PC.
That is very close lol, only difference is mine didn't come with Just Dance and all the demos were pre-installed from what I remember, I don't remember downloading them myself

Very underrated racing game
Hydro thunder was actually on Sega Dreamcast first I still have the original. One time I decided to put it inside my 360 it was able to play a modified version and which was cool.

i remember playing the demo thinking it was the original game, i was so dissapointed i never gave it a shot. Many years later ive come to realize this game was a classic hit just like the first game. I get to experience this game for the first time in 2023 boys here i come 8)

HTH PC actually has Online, you just need Xbox Live for it. I've played HTH for the first time back in 2013, and never actually had the chance to buy it until last year. Even if the PC version doesn't look as good as the Xbox 360 one, I still think both are fun to play, and it brings back a lot of memories from playing splitscreen demo version of the game with my cousins or such.
This game, banjo kazooie nuts & bolts, fifa 13&14, minecraft, fuel, pure, were my childhood

i'd really wish they could make a proper remaster/remake Unreal Engine 5 or something else and add more tracks/boats/skins of this game which means that there would be returning boats/tracks from the 1999 N64 version as well as bringing in new boats/tracks that were never seen before in the franchise...

I hate racing games, but this and Sonic All-Stars Racing are the only ones I genuinely enjoy. With games like Forza or even Mario Kart, I get bored out of my mind because they’re so forgettable. With Hydro Thunder Hurricane, it sticks with me for a long time and even after a couple months or so, I’m like “Let’s go! I love this game!” And for good reason

if you have xbox live, the multiplayer is a ton of fun, and the singleplayer is aswell, but I will say, sometimes its hard to find a lobby
To be fair… I cluttered my Xbox 360 with a lot of demos and I thought Hydro Thunder hurricane was one of them so I just grew up with Lake Powell…

Not mentioned at all is that it's backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series consoles. It's also a locked 60fps on One X, Series S, and Series X. Base Xbox One probably averages around 50fps but that's still better than the 360 which is in the low 40s.

I remember playing that game in like only 1 map and playing all over again then asking my cousins to play with me to get destroyed lol man that was like years ago then my xbox is gone now :( then after a few years and after many months when i gotten my pc ive been looking for a free download of Hydro Thunder Hurricane to see if i still have the skill to get 1st place....

I personally think the ps1 game plays better and has more boats and generally better levels. Venice canals is literally perfect, especially when u get good with blowfish. Nothing is more rewarding than learning blowfish on those old maps. Tho i will admit its too easy. Dreamcast version is a lot harder.
