    Wow. Stumbled across this video. So probably I think back in 1981 or maybe 82. Just after my Mom divorced my dad. He and I drove this road together in a 77 Silverado. I have not been on that road since. It will be a trip with my Dad I will never forget. Both my parents are passed. My mission now is to drive this rd with my now adult kids. That trip with just me and my Dad will forever be one of my favorite memories. Bless you for posting this.

    Nice job of capturing the essence of that road. We did it a few weeks ago and plan to go back for fall color.

    We love driving this just as the trees are starting to bud in the Spring time. The buds add nice color but still has outstanding views with less foliage. We always stop at Mingo Falls after this drive.

      We were 3/4 the way around this drive one time an a 6 inch diameter tree was down across the road. Shortly after we got there another couple showed up. Between us all we were able to get the tree moved enough to get around.

    We went the day before you and never saw Elk. You probably started earlier in the day. We came from Weaverville. It was still a nice ride in the woods. Loved where the streams crossed. You took a nice video, thanks for sharing!

      Yes. we where up there around 7:30am, to get morning light for our video. The Elk are out more in the early morning, and late evenings. Thank you, and glad you enjoyed the video!

      No there isn't, you loop back through Cherokee and up Soco Rd into Maggie Valley.

    One way traffic on the gravel road?

    • @Blueridgemountainlife
      @Blueridgemountainlife  3 года назад +1

      One way for the majority of it, then it turns into 2-way traffic once you get to Cherokee. There are signs indicating 1-way and 2-way.

    Isnt that tricky, having a video section of your jeep coming down the trail?

    • @Blueridgemountainlife
      @Blueridgemountainlife  3 года назад +1

      Just lots of parking, walking, putting the camera down, walking back, then driving by and hoping it turned out ;-) Jenn was driving some as well, while I was behind the camera. Not so much tricky as it is time consuming.

    Would a car handle this? Doesn’t look as bad as the gravel road in Virginia we took to the Devils Bathtub, lol

    • @Blueridgemountainlife
      @Blueridgemountainlife  3 года назад +1

      Should be fine under normal conditions. Just avoid the pot holes, which isn't hard to do. We were surprised when we recorded this, the road was in fantastic shape.

    I have been watching all of these RUclips channels to get ideas of trails to hit in my Gladiator. This one looks like it is really nice.
    What video editing software do you use? I am just getting started with YT, there is a ton of software out there.
    I just subed and liked to try to help out your channel with the algos

      Hey, thanks for watching! It's a beautiful drive and one of our favorites. We use Adobe PremierePro, and shoot with Canon M50s, GoPros, and even our iPhones at times. Appreciate the sub, and wish you the best - RUclips is a lot of work, but fun.
