how could any true skater not appreciate this. blind videos days was a huge influence/favorite of mine. all these guys were skateboarding IDOLS to me. seeing this & watching the video today really put a smile on my face. lots of fond memories. thanks
MARIANO, LEE, RUDY WITH THE GONZ HAIR HAHAHAHAAA!!! GOOD TO SEE THESE GUYS TOGETHER. BRINGS BACK MEMORIES WATCHING THEM ON VIDEO WITH MY FRIENDS BACK IN THE DAY.
In many ways there is no difference between when I was young and kids today. But 1991 were very different times than today. The world was a much different place and so was skateboarding at that time. Just like I couldnt fully understand the experience guys like Jay Adams and Stacey Peralta were skating in the 70s.
This video inspired me like no other, even moreso then Hokus Pokus or Shackle me Not. Hensley was def my hero, but Jason Lee, and Gonz were the shit! I actually loved World Industries Steve Rocco's boards.
@peteypete1984 Yep, I'm very proud to have been a part of that golden era. Skateboarding was something very special in the early 90s. Kids today just wouldnt understand that.
Lavern4101 Agreed. It was totally different and underwent major changes in the span of a few years, mainly 1989-1992; board shapes, companies, styles and tricks evolved super quickly. While it’s still changed in the 28 years since, many of the standards set back then are still followed, except that skating is not as insular and way more styles are accepted and encouraged.
would’ve been rad if they got spike jonze to do the photography for the shoot. i’m not too familiar with who was at the head of it but he didn’t even seem stoked about it lol
@RICTONDENRIS I never said it wasnt. But it was something much different in the 80s and early 90s. You would of had to have lived it to understand what I mean.
I just got off the phone with Jordan Richter aka Abdul Jaleel a bit ago! He found out about me through nate sherwood, because we are both Muslim. He's a good guy.
