I just started Exanima, like... yesterday Watching your vids has been perfect for practice, today already I can clear the zombies of floor 1 without trouble, learned a lot about movement and mouse usage from watching you Still hard part for me is repositioning the camera during battle to keep good control, otherwise I'm quite found of the movements as they are currently :)
I just started playing this game a few days ago and just found your channel yesterday. Both you and Darrin are far far better than me! I can't even beat the skelly in the graveyard. He keeps killing me and I can never manage to even keep Darrin alive till then! LOL fml this game is so hard :P
It's more that you've played this game so much that you've fallen into some really bad habits involving combat. I'm sure if you took your time to analyze a few examples of infighting techniques and change a few things up you'd do really well. If I had to give you some starting advice on this it would be to try and not always back up after every strike. Rather, try moving to the left or right of the enemy in response to their attack to open up a more opportune counter strike as well as to put more control and force behind your swings. Control movement in yourself to control the movement of your enemy.
I was pretty decent at this game as well getting to master in arena but after this update I to am having a rough time with timing so don’t worry it’s not just you
I love watching this game, how it looks and feels. I reinstalled it because of your videos. Then I played it for 10 minutes and again turned it off. The player- and camera movement are just too much. I would love if the camera was fixed behind the character, rotating the screen with the mouse movement so that I can use W A S D like in every other game to circle around the enemy. As long as it's like this or without the option to switch to a more conventional handeling, I think I can't play it myself, even though I kind of want to.
I just picked up the game two days ago and I'm just now starting to get comfortable whooping the zombies man I can't wait till I get to the later levels and get my s*** kicked
first to comment but definitely not the last! It's very late at this very moment so i'll watch most of this video tomorror, but i know it's going to be a delightful experience :)
resurrect a zombie from the first floor that was peaceful and did not attack first, there are also peaceful zombies in the clothing store on the third floor, they can be subdued and they will not attack Deren.
The steps are just sped up and the movement has bit more flexibility to it now. Its not that radical of a change but it is noticeable, to most players atleast.
I found that the new movement while subtle, was extremely helpful and much needed for less than stellar players like me. I imagine that veterans had a much harder time adjusting after bein able to tame the old movement system. I always thought the movement felt extremely strange in the old system and I could never get a hang of it. After the new update though, I got several recruits to Master in arena for the first time when the movement functioned more or less how I thought it should have, instead of being married to every single step the moment you press the key.
Keep this going. This series become my binge watch drugs. IM ADDICTED!

You should really check out the shield bash mechanic. Its a blast to just send a face full of lumber right into the guys temple and see them tumble.

Are you using continuous mind sense (the binding) or the temporary mind sense?

I bought the game before Movement update and i can't really see a difference, for me it's the same.

The heavy 2handed sword from archives makes quick work of the monsters in sewers. also, why are you using a torch, lol?
