    • @Everlanders

No, I've had to take it apart and repair it so often, mostly chasing leaks internally where the two halves meet... Compared with the Viair, it just works and works... Never a problem at a fraction of the price. The next time the ARB lets me down, I'm tossing it and getting a couple more Viair.

@@Everlanders Yes, there are too many regulations for everything. Camping is a problem in most countries if it's not in a designated area. And when it comes to fuel, it's even worse. For example, Zetros trucks that are heavily converted into campers are now only sold outside of Europe due to restrictions. The only advantage is that a European vehicle can travel anywhere in the world without issues

Fantastic self leveling design, good job. My one caution having worked in building rear air ride assisted systems for Super Duty trucks used in a military application is the side frame air bag mount caused cracks in the frame. The frame is weakest in the location the air bag mount is attached to....the side twisting caused cracks and frame failures. The solution was to build a bracket system subframe connecting the two frame rails to to limit torsional frame twisting and cracks. Check for cracks every week or so....hopefully none will appear.

Excellent video. Great execution. A few things that I didn’t hear you touch on and I hope you considered is max and min allowable pressure on the airbags. Some airbags don’t like to be bottomed out and some don’t like to be overinflated as they will pop out of their housings. In the same note it’s critical axle limit straps or shocks limit the axle travel as extreme travel can also pop out an airbag from its seat. Just my 0.02 pesos on an otherwise 5 star video.

Where in the truck did you mount the IMU? Does it need to be on the truck centerline, or can you mount it anywhere, in a convenient orientation, and just look at changes from the starting "calibrated" baseline?

    • @Everlanders

It's now mounted to the back side of the aluminum backplane to which all of our electrical and electronic gear is affixed (right behind my calves when I'm sitting at our dinette. If you were doing complex g-force math, then maybe it would matter more, but all I care about at the moment is angle X and Y. So it can be mounted anywhere.

Im a truck driver and while the push pull connectors are quick and easy to work with they are prone to leaking over time the old nut ferrule connectors are far superior

6 years into this trip and I've had no other problems with the others... Ones that I insert and remove frequently get chewed up and I just trim off a centimeter and they're fine again...

As mentioned before, I always love your tech videos & even though I'm not very good at it, I always learn something (which is not bad for an "Old Fart!") I too built my own custom air bag set up for my 4wd, nothing is available in Australia for my American based wagon so I have to make everything (which of course is kinda cool anyway!) No hi tech on my bags but I have thought about it as we have a Roof top tent & I certainly have plenty of other silly little gadgets so YNOT (which funnily enough, is our number plates) Cheers & Merry Christmas from Oz! 👍
