My mum used to sing something similar to this to me when I was a child (Not saying it's the same song but I think it was based on an actual Welsh or Scots Gaelic song). She just passed in Dec so I'm trying to remember things she used to sing to me when we were still living in England.
Before and after the Romans left Britain the island mainly spoke Welsh/Brythonic. The Saxons Germans/English invaded and the Welsh/Brythonic people were pushed to the west of Britain by invaders. The lyrics are old probably after the Norman (French) conquest in 1066.(Wales never fell to the Saxons or vikings) If there was a King Arthur he would of been Welsh/Brythonic. There are many poems reciting that welsh mythical people will rise again to defeat the English this is just one of them. Long before Halo!!
King Arthur did exist since recently (about 2-4 years ago) they have found his tomb along with Guinivere, and he is indeed of welsh blood due to his name meaning Dragon Head but in direct translation Head Dragon Pen = Head Dragon = dragon And you're theory is infact correct as many historians belief wales was Camelot due to the welsh flag being very similar to the coat of arms of the Pendragon.
Worth the argument--the focus on Arthur in Welsh Millennialism only really exists for about 300 years--before 1081 Cadwalladr Mab Cadwallon, the last Brythonic King to rule Camalodunum, was the focus of bardic myth; after the Troyes legend of 1190 (and especially after the conquest of 1283), Arthur was absorbed as an "English" king (the Bretwalda, not the Brythanwric), and largely displaced by Owain Glyndwr after 1402. That would put this language in Middle Welsh, but while it contains some bardic phrasing form that period (the use of 'Annwn' has too many pagan connotations to be much older, but was replaced by 'Uffern' soon after 1300), the pronunciation has been shifted into modern Welsh--so most translations will look like gibberish.
“Lament” by Light of Aidan , very nice. me and my sister freaked when we watched the scene with this , as since the Arthurian legends originate from Celtic origins, a welsh song is appropriate. nice touch.
The lyrics of the song (in Welsh): "Gafflwn Dihenydd, o'r fuddugol yn wiriol sydd. Ni fydd neb yn ein Drechu, Falch ydy ni i drochu, Traed o flaen i'r Annwn, mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni."The actual translation of the original Welsh lyrics are : "We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us we are glad to plunge feet first into hell in the knowledge that we will rise."
Ah flundi eni, ohr vidi, gal ah un vere yulsi Ni vik ni, an hine veni, vie fadi ni ee, troni Blide oh vline ranun, yunagwei, bore dile vey gore du ni (Drums) Ah flundi eni, ohr vidi, gal ah un vere yulsi Blide oh vline ranun, yunagwei, bore dile vey gore du ni!
It may not be a military man. But I have studied war and military things Most of my life and this song just reaches down to something ancestral for battle and glory
It’s a modern version of a very old Welsh song that Welsh soldiers would sing on the march against the invading Anglo Saxons. It talks about how they will rise from the dead with Arthur and kick the English out of Britain.
Jeo Trillio Let me help you with the full version. "Helljumper, Helljumper, where you been? Feet first into hell and back again! When I die please bury me deep! Place an MA5 down by my feet! Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear! Just pack my box with PT gear! Cuz one early morning 'bout zero-five! The ground will rumble, there'll be lightning in the sky! Don't you worry, don't come undone It's just my ghost on a PT run!"
Turned the cadence into a Marine Corps cadence so I could sing it on our moto-runs. Changed 'helljumper' to 'Devil Dog' 'MA5' to 'A4' 'box' to 'shit' and other little changes like this one to make it flow better.
Pasta: The song is actually called "The Life" and is musically based on "Lament" by Light of Aidan. The lyrics of the two songs are completely different. The first 57 seconds of this, is a song called "The Politics" and isn't related to the original ODST version. Killjoy0329 best one!
My mum used to sing something similar to this to me when I was a child (Not saying it's the same song but I think it was based on an actual Welsh or Scots Gaelic song). She just passed in Dec so I'm trying to remember things she used to sing to me when we were still living in England.
Its welsh not Scottish
Before and after the Romans left Britain the island mainly spoke Welsh/Brythonic. The Saxons Germans/English invaded and the Welsh/Brythonic people were pushed to the west of Britain by invaders. The lyrics are old probably after the Norman (French) conquest in 1066.(Wales never fell to the Saxons or vikings) If there was a King Arthur he would of been Welsh/Brythonic. There are many poems reciting that welsh mythical people will rise again to defeat the English this is just one of them. Long before Halo!!
King Arthur did exist since recently (about 2-4 years ago) they have found his tomb along with Guinivere, and he is indeed of welsh blood due to his name meaning Dragon Head but in direct translation Head Dragon
Pen = Head
Dragon = dragon
And you're theory is infact correct as many historians belief wales was Camelot due to the welsh flag being very similar to the coat of arms of the Pendragon.
Brythonic people weren't all pushed.most modern "English " still have a lot of brythonic british ancestry.
I play this, close my eyes and enjoy in this.. So peacefull.
Only took 8 years.

läuft grad im fernsehn, direkt gänsehaut bekommen, hier nochmal gehört und direkt wieder gänsehaut. einfach geil.
Finally, we get to experience this version of the song in it's entirety
Praise the ancients
It may not be a military man. But I have studied war and military things Most of my life and this song just reaches down to something ancestral for battle and glory
It’s a modern version of a very old Welsh song that Welsh soldiers would sing on the march against the invading Anglo Saxons. It talks about how they will rise from the dead with Arthur and kick the English out of Britain.
HELLJUMPER,
HELLJUMPER,
Where you been?
Feet first into
HELL Then back again!
When I DIE
Please Bury me deep!
Fix my MA5 down by my
FEET!
Don't you worry, don't come undone
It's just my ghost on a PT run!"
Turned the cadence into a Marine Corps cadence so I could sing it on our moto-runs.
Changed 'helljumper' to 'Devil Dog'
'MA5' to 'A4'
'box' to 'shit' and other little changes like this one to make it flow better.
Captain Awesome To be honest and not wanting to be rude but I would prefer if they sang the ODST version. It sounds more battle hardened.
I loved this song so much from the ODST trailer, I had it ripped to mp3 and kept playing the precious few seconds of it.
Al fin!
llevo esperando a que salga una versión completa y en HD de esta canción desde que la escuche en el trailer de Halo 3: ODST
es hermoso :'v
que idioma esta la canción ? no lo llego a distinguir, parece ruso
Pasta:
The song is actually called "The Life" and is musically based on "Lament" by Light of Aidan. The lyrics of the two songs are completely different. The first 57 seconds of this, is a song called "The Politics" and isn't related to the original ODST version. The lyrics of "The Life" were written by Peter Freeman and you can learn more about the differences between the two songs here: hubpages.com/entertainment/Light-of-Aidan-Lament
Translation.
"We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge feet first into hell in the knowledge that we will rise."
Espere 8 años en escuchar una versión clara de esta canción desde halo 3 odst. Gracias.
The first time I saw the movie, I heard the pipes, and in the first second, I recognized it. And as the lyrics began...well, it was just music to the ears at that point
I love how none of the comments are on the film but only ODST’s.
This is the exact song from “ We Are ODST”, they finally made it a full song in this movie. Remember Reach, and Keep it Clean.
Teacher: we going to travel to Mombasa
Girls: another boring School's travel
Me and the boys: 1:11
I was watching this movie and got *COMPLETELY* blindsided when this music started to play
Esta es la perfecta representación de "tu pasado siempre te alcanza"
Amen fue una sorpresa para mi
WE ARE ODST
Thank you for bringing the old Druid Celtic language into effect
Old ? This is modern welsh
“Hold the crown. And hold it steady.”
Let me get it straight:
This song, that we heared first in Halo Odst trailer, never get a full version until this movie came out, almost 8 years later?
Oh boy
Comment section percentage: 1% everything else, 99% ODST. FEET FIRST INTO HELL
They're not wrong tho
How many years did they wait for this? Can you blame them?
@@56bturn Eight years two years ago, so at this point about ten years.
0:56, is when the action begins. HAIL TO THE KING!
What a beautiful language.
Iv'e waited years to obtain this song. Scoured the depths of the internet to find it and nothing. Until now Thanks Guy Richie
Oh my god.... they... they actually.... it’s... no... it has to be a dream
Ce chant me donne littéralement des frissons...
I saw the movie and when the song came up I got the chills and I couldn't recall where it was from until I realized.
Is this the song that plays when King Uther attacks the giant Olliphant and slays Mordred? I thought the singing was longer...
maybe they cut the central part
I think they like cut the parts and put them in really weird orders. As well as slowing down the song from what I remember
love this scene
Olliphants are from Lord of the Rings. They're basically the same as the giant elephants in this movie.
Who does the vocals for this song?
Girls before a paintball match: I’m so scared! I hope it doesn’t hurt when they shoot me
Boys: 1:11

WE ARE GREAN AND VERY VERY MEAN
A little noticed feature about this version, they replaced the sirens heard in the ODST trailer with wolves that sound almost identical
Continuous loop the whole time :D I love this song
This part where they showed Eric Bana, ahhhh i love him !
rose nadz fall in luv with him on this scene
I freaken love this movie!!!
We are *ODST!*
Best Movie ever
very bad blegh
het orakel wrong
Ok, this might not be the greatest film ever, but it is one of the best Guy Ritchie films behind Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
MidnightOz Even he/she did think it was the best ever, it'd be their personal opinion. It's wouldn't be a silly opinion, it'd just differ from yours.
Yes indeed one of the most entertaining movie of the decade
FINALLY! Been looking for this song for 8 years! We are ODST!
105th Helljumpers. Never Forget. Feet First Into Hell
Not going to lie this move has one of the best soundtracks I've heard in a while
1:47 - Cue the sound of wind ripping against the outside of the drop pod.
So if anybody is interested in learning the song, I think I have a rough interpretation of the notes.
First verse
D, A, A, G, A
G, F, E, F, G, A, F, E, D
Second verse
F, E, D, F, E, D, E
Third verse is the same as the second
Final verse is the same as the first.
Hope this was helpful!
"we are green, and very very mean!"
Looks like the navy got its butt kicked.
Jesse Hey Romeo, remember when I told you to shut your mouth?

Captain, 15 klicks off the deck.
Watched the movie on tele. Must have missed this scene. Just caught it by chance today and just reminded me that I've heard of this before. Reading the comments and then I remembered the live action trailer for Halo 3 ODST. I was a kid at that time and just thought it was a trailer with custom music made by fans, which while I didnt understand a single word, fitted really well with the trailer. Glad I found this.
I really love medieval music
Every sound from the beginning to the end is epic
WTH this song is from that one odst trailer that everyone was trying to find out how to get ahold of like 8 years ago
ParziStudios Thank Guy Ritchie for getting it for us. The dude literally payed for it.
