Sadly, recently news came out that she is leaving running man and many speculate it's due to hate comments and she needs to recharge. I'm a foreign fan from the US. I love her she is one of my favorite members. If I'm having a bad day she always makes me smile and laugh. Her quirky personality is amazing. I hope she has great things ahead of her. I'll continue to watch and support her in anything she does. I didn't even know she was getting so much hate from people. I'm sorry to hear that crap keeps happening to people. Jealousy and envy are scary emotions.
Jihyo gets a lot of hate from Somin fans too. I'm shocked however that Somin received death threats. That is taking things too far. Not sure if Jihyo received that too/ That's why i hope the revamped RM will not have any female members. 2D1N is a good example y not having female members is best. The funny dynamics n bromance is rly smth diff. With female competition gets petty.

At first I thought So Min is weird and awkward but as soon as she stayed longer in Running Man she is so fun, joyful and playful. How can people hate her?😢
It's a shame, I really enjoyed Jeon So Min's crazy antics and I love the fact that she's so easy going and willing to put aside her image as an actress and be silly and wear crazy costumes and whatnot. I also think that she really stepped up after Lee Kwang Soo departed and left a gaping hole in his wake.
I think Running Man needs that one crazy character that has a unique relationship with all the cast. At first it was Kwang Soo. He had a relationship with the members that was unique to him. I mean he was the *only* one who could get away with getting in a physical brawl with Song Jihyo because they were as close as real siblings. Then there was his easy brother schtick with Jee Seok Jin, his chemistry with Yoo Jae Suk that has been parlayed into other variety shows, his ongoing goal to "get" Kim Jong Kook and be Kim Jong Kook's "punching bag". His dog-cat sibling relationship with Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan.
So Min in turn carved her own unique place in the Running Man family and plenty of her interactions with the cast and guests were some of the most hilarious thing's I've seen. I really think she has a gift for variety shows. I wish she didn't have to go, because like Kwang Soo her lack of presence will be sorely felt, but just like for Kwang Soo, if it is for her physical and mental health then I will resign myself to her leaving wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
I hope she can revisit the show one day or that we can enjoy her wacky antics in other variety shows. Fingers crossed for a new season of Sixth Sense coming up soon!

Daesung from Big Bang would be my dream. My surprise person that no one would think of is Hyolyn. It would be so funny, but I can only dream. But I do love Somin. Sad to see her go.

This is such a sad news, and feels a bit out of the blue because she always keeps a smile on her face. Somin is really underrated.... I'll miss seeing a women who acts so boldly and quirky as her on running man. She added so much joy to the show.

i first saw her as an actress in the drama 1% of something (she played the main role and performed so good) and then she guested in a few episodes of running man and then became a permanent member of running man. she was actually a good actress idk why she didn't go big in the acting industry after a few gigs. i really enjoyed her time in running man especially with those handsome guests quirky hilarious

When joongki left..it was at the those days RM was coming up…because joongki did nothing anyway…lizzy is okay to me..when gary left…RM was like bland…then brought so min and se chan…so min is okay..but i wont say about another…
some said is not because of haters/hate comment, she endure that for 6 years, and doesnt seem to be bother by it. other speculation is that her agency want her to quit due to schedule clash with her other activities, although this just a rumor. im kinda believe this rumor because her official statement said that she want to focus on her acting where before this she able to play a lot of drama & movies while being an active member of RM. but after seeing Kwangsoo able to do other variety show after he leave, i hope we will able to see Somin in different variety/reality show in the future. let support her decision and continue to show our support to running man ❤
I love somin, so adorable and nice. I think it's the agency making her quit, maybe they felt she and even kwangsoo were stuck doing variety shows. Everytime I see hate comments and none of the other members say anything about it, I get so angry. Like 1 word from them as idols would put these haters in their place. They are so scared of the fans, it's almost stupid tbh.
Korean society as a whole is the problem, they are toxic. You know they stated that comedian are the lowest level of entertainer in korea. Even Jaesuk already spouting this by teasing LKS that he said "admit it your isnt an actor now, but a comedian right?". And LKS dont agreed with that. Lol thats one of reason LKS leave running man. I adore Somin. She's not afraid to be different, nobody can predict what she's gonna do or say. Actually, from glimpse of her talent, she's very artistic and talented. I'm sorry to see her leave RM. .

I'm a fan from Germany and I really liked her. She's just funny and sweet. It's a shame that these people just don't stop putting others down like that. If you don't like someone, you can just ignore that person and leave them alone.

I know and heard Running Man before, but So Min is the one that got me watch it and by saying that, she's the reason why i've loved and still watching the show.
I binge-watched it from the episode she and Se Chan became members of the said show (this was during the pandemic). I've watched her movies and series too, from then on i can say i've almost watched all her appearnces on other programs.
That being said, i wish her the best in her future endeavors.

As a fannof RM from a long time I've never felt ill or disliked any member both old or the present ones. It was really sad after Kwangsoo and now Somin😢😢😢 but that one comment shown here were it says the members never addressed the toxicity towards Somin but them being so vocal when it comes to SJH, I mean I am just so taken aback I never felt this way earlier but somehow I feel like this is true too and as much as I would not like to admit, I admit it

So Min is so cute. I became a fan of running man because of her, she is so funny, she went to another variety show where I think Kang Ki-young told her we don't do that here, it's not running man, and I thought omg, does such a great show exist? , and I became a fan, yes, it was all because of her. Now it's been a while since I've seen Running Man, a few months before Kangsoo left, university was a lot of work and I stopped doing things I liked, seeing them leave breaks my heart, they made me laugh a lot, I even learned Korean words without even studying.
She didn’t leave because of hate comments (yes she was receiving hate comments). She left to peruse her acting career amongst other things, this was also cleared by YJS in the last episode. Unfortunately both Somin and Jang Sechan received a lot of hate when they became Running Man members, Somin overcame the hurdle and adjusted herself well but due to some toxic fans has been on the receiving end and it’s sad to say Sechan is still receiving the hate but he has adjusted well

Whilst I'll personally not be watching anymore due to her departure- the show will survive. There are enough fans and if the show survived not just Kang Gary but Lee Kwang Soo leaving then it will more than likely survive Somin leaving.

After kwang-soo departured, I rarely watch runningman entire episode, the one which i watch entire episode was majority because of So-Min or some clever KJK moment. I missed the really old RM, whre they all go outside challenge etc.

you know I love jeon somin she and sechan really revived the show after joining, but I have to say that close to leaving running man episodes it was already clear that somin was no longer enjoying it like before. and hate me for saying it but I also noticed some friction with the members seeming fed up with her. The interaction between them alot of times seemed forced and not so friendly, there were really times when you could see it. her trying and them not having it or rejecting her attempts😮💨and as a fan those times were uncomfortable to watch, somin trying hard and the members rejecting her attempts to participate
I watch because of kwangsoo, jaesuk, and somin. If at the end jaesuk leave rm, I’m not watching then. Since Jaesuk still in rm, i will keep watching. Fighting rm🎉

the show is just declining in general, the members get older, cannot do the rougher games like in the past, it just can't be helped.

Yeah, I sadly agree. I was a fan from the very beginning and I noticed that they've been carving more time for talks and it's understandable. As you said they're all aging and a couple of them have had to contend with health issues stemming from the more physically challenging years of the show. And it's tough to tone down the physical aspect or revamp the style because the very premise of the show from the beginning was the physical competitions with the name tag eliminations chases and whatnot.
I'm struggling with watching the show too and I think it's really sad that I've come to this, since I looked forward to new episodes every Sunday.

@@sunnyx213That would be a bad idea. Remember back then when they were about to cast Kang Ho Dong to RM? That would be the downfall of RM. Casting someone who is a veteran in variety shows could pull the show further down, I think the best way is to cast new rising stars for a more refreshing approach like what the staff did in 2017 when they casted JSM and YSC who were back then just were rising stars. That's why it's confirmed that RM is going to be a 6 member show for the time being and to fill in JSM spot they will go with a bunch of guests. I think this is a way to scout or recruit who will be the next members of RM.

Except JSM n Sechan weren't rising stars when they were casted. In fact, they have been in the industry for many years. I'd rather they take their time to find a suitable candidate rather than rush just to fill the spot. Think they will cast a guest who gels well with the members. It's definitely not ALL international fans that hate her, just some of them. But some of them are crazy enough and they're ruined her life. Why didn't RM PD do anything about it? She is good..absolutely getting better and better since first time she join as reguler. I do like her..am actually questioning why she left after being so good. First i thought she is not thankful, but now i know why she has to leave.
Despite the hate comments, that's not why she left. She wants to focus on her acting career. I love to see her till the end but I respect her decision. If you saw some of recent episodes, members were careful about offending Somin since there were backlash from her fans, especially when she's bad at sports. So, even though there were malicious comments, her fans were there to support her. She didn't deserve the hate but I hope people don't push a falsa narrative on why she left, just like YJS mentioned in Somin's last episode.

To assume its due to the hate comments is ridiculous. Shes been in running man for 6 whole years.. More than likely its to further her career in acting, etc which is probably the best decision.

I agree. I believe 100% that there were disagreements between the king kong/starship agency and the running man producers as well as the SBS tv network. Those disagreements most likely concerning financial returns and benefits, along with the amount of tv screen time the person is receiving from the show. I also believe that the same situation happened with Lee Kwang Soo. I'm almost certain that both Somin and Kwang Soo never wanted to leave running man but because of business conflicts and disagreements behind the camera, they had to end their time with the show.

Somin's excuse makes sense, it's the same in in 2 days 1 night season 3 when Kim Joohyuk left because he said his job is acting and he's an actor, he wanted to leave after a year but liked the show too much so he got stuck for more than that. Somin is the same.
What I can say is her appearance in RM is fresh cuz only her can take the roles to be crazy from our Prince KwangSoo.. And now I don't know who will take that crazy roles... Maybe YongJi or Mijoo can be a new member... 🤷♀

If you watch the editing - you can clearly see that there was some turmoil with at least one of the cast and her. I am going to guess she became disenchanted with the weekly abuse. Even in her last episode there were clear comments which shows that wedge. I think it just became unbearable.

Somin landed the worst possible senior in Running Man, and that was someone who was needing constant catering and help like Jihyo.
She did the best she could in her circumstances, like always, and proved that as an actress and entertainer, she is leagues above jihyo, which made jh fans even more mad and insane.

RM wouldn't be the RM that it is now if not for 3 person that's kjk, kwangsoo and jihyo, sure jaesuk is probably the head of the cast but those 3 is the reason why RM still exist today and why the new members was given a chance.
