Trying the 140 year old LUCKNOW NIHARI!!! 🇮🇳

- Good morning from Lucknow!!
When you come to Lucknow, a few foods should be on your list in this delicious city, and one of those things is Nihari. This place has been selling for like over 140 years which is cool to think about all the people who have pasted by and tried this staple dish. Don't forget to get it with a Shermal as well!
I was a little early today as I woke up hungry so I had to walk around the streets alone for a little while.
Well, that's before I found Raja Thandi, I didn't know much about this drink but after some research, I think I finally figured out why I was so calm after drinking this haha!
Another staple must eat in Lucknow, is Nihari. There seemed to only be really two choices on where to eat Biryani in Lucknow and so I decided to follow my instinct and what was open all day, Idrees Biryani. Unfortunately, not open yet, so you can see me eat that in the next video...
Lucknow is home to the Nawabs, so I wanted to go and try to find a traditional shoe of the Nawab people. This place already had the stickers so I felt like that was probably a pretty good deal for me since everybody knows I am not the best bargainer. I finally got me a nice pair and for a good deal, or at least I felt like it was.
After that I took off down some back alleys, and was pleasantly surprised to find an old Sweet shop of Lucknow doing rare sweets, that I would guess, unless you are from the area, have not tried yourself. The malaai paan was exceptional as it was fatty and sweet, yet not over bearing.

Just a guy from Arkansas chasing his dreams of traveling the world, meeting amazing people, and trying all the delicious food I can find!
I am from a small farm in the states, I am now taking advantage of the opportunities I have to travel the world in search of some of the most delicious foods, unique places, and friendliest people.
A lover of street food, good laughs, and learning about other cultures. I hope to indulge in all these things and more as I bring you along with me on my epic journeys.

Not many foreigners visit Lucknow. It is heartening to see someone is finally exploring this historical city of Lucknow :-)
You must visit here once in life. It is food capital of veg non veg food. It is place where chiken ( kind of soft cotton cloth) is produced.
@@vimalkumar3815 Chikan pehna bhi jata hai aur chicken khaya bhi jata hai. Lucknow jaisa khana bramandh mein bhi nhin
@@vimalkumar3815 I will luv too
Any foreigner will explore a city which is safe for him/her, unfortunately Lucknow is one of the worst states for women and for foreigners (fraud, teasing, theft, bullying etc)
@@wk4478 it is your thinking based on western media reports. No one is safe in its own house🏠. Crime is everywhere. So don't be a prejudice and stereotype.
At the Raja thandai shop, he was saying ‘Bhaang’ which are Cannabis leaves, crushed and made in to a paste. It would make you high and the effect is for almost 24 hours 😂 The one you had was plain thandai, bhaang is mixed when you ask for it.
bhaang 🥴🥴
Literally the best part is where he says "nasha hota hai" and interprets it as " good for thinking"😂
😂😂💞
😁😂
And then…”we’re trying it” is so cute😅
How does a milkshake has Nasha? Or what is it made of?
He wasnt wrong actually. All the great thinking comes from nasha only 😅

I am a local from Lucknow and I am amazed to see foreigners in Lucknow... A very few people visit here even though its a city filled with lots of kindness... Thank you Max for covering Lucknow... May u have an amazing stay... If u r still in Lucknow u can also visit a few bakeries which are pretty old and famous in Lucknow... Have a great stay and thanks again...

lucknow is filled with hindu extremists thats why people dont visit
The same way people stared at me an Indian when I went to a WalMart in upstate Maine, like they had never seen someone like me before.

There is just some uniqueness with how you travel and explore the food. Loved it !
The Thandai seller was talking about Bhaang which is just an Indian Intoxicant. Also, I love your videos as your commentary paints a happy and positive picture of the place. Thanks for visiting my city Lucknow and best of luck for the journey ahead. Cheers!!!!
Hey Max, I have been following you throughout your journey to India. Always loving your videos and your reaction. And having you in my own city makes me all the more happy because most people who come to India just never get to experience this particular city. GLAD YOU CAME. Hi Max. I love your videos! It's just so refreshing to see you explore historical cities like Lucknow and tasting the famous delicacies. But I feel like there's so much you're missing out on being someone who's not from around here. I would love to take you on a real and authentic tour of these cities and being a local I can help you experience some authentic local stuff. I can't explain how thankful I am to you for representing the beautiful side of India. The ones that's less talked about and barely explored. Anyway, if you want to experience the true culture and the local traditions of Indian cities, please do get in touch because I genuinely want you to have this experience. And it's just for the sake of experience, it's not a sales pitch if you're worried about that 😂. I would love to be your travel companion for once, any city you name it.

I just realised how genuis max is as a costumer. When he saw the chappal and the wedding sandals and he how quickly figured out that he was being ripped off. just my opinion, but I think beef is better for nihari for 2 reasons: 1) the way the fat melts makes it integrate better into the gravy and 2) the typically milder taste of beef blends better with the typical masalas used in nihari (I don't think you'd have been missing the red chili taste as much if you had gotten it with beef).
