    Years ago there was a company that made fiberglass removable hardtop's for chop top S10 truck's and blazer's

    Looks really good! I have an 88’ s10 Blazer I rattle canned matte green with matte clear coat. Looks alright. I want to chop the top as well but just the back like my K5. I’m also going to cover the whole truck to match my woodland camo. Next time you are in and around PA, we gotta run some trails. See what my little 2.8 can do lol

      Thanks, I used to have a K5 full size Blazer that's definitely a cool truck also we used to take the back off, nice because it's still had the top but on my S10 I had to make a snap top just in case it rained it worked for the most part got me home.

      @@micramvandrew4109 I am wanting to get a custom weather strip made so I can put the top back on if I want too.. I don't trust those leather snap tops.. Too easy to cut an break into.. I have a sound system in it that is worth double the value of my rig lol.

    nice little build! I have the same wheels and tires on my s10, a rear locker helps a lot if you wheel much. Keep the s10s alive!!!

    I started a similar project on a 88 Cherokee 4WD back in 2010.But the trans. went out and I scrapped it.Yours is a good job thoough.Next time I try this I will use your bent diamond plate idea to cover the cuts and open holes.

    It defiantly turned out better than I thought it was going to!
    I love the wheels, what is the back spacing? What did you use to lift it? T-bar crank and shackles?

    Would love to do this once in my lifetime. Take an old 2-door S-10 Blazer or Jimmy from the 95-05 years, and turn it into a convertible like they built stock back in the day. My dad owned a 1980 K-5 back in 1994 and it was a convertible, and that thing was a lot of fun, until someone made an illegal left turn into it at an intersection and wrecked it. Ended up being a write-off.

    concerned mom here. what r the down falls of doing this? isnt this dangerous? with high speeds or going down steep rocky hills, isnt it more likely for the vehicle to roll and hurt some one seriously?? not trying to be a kill joy, but he is my only son. I dont wnat him to hurt him self.

    • @brettdubbeld9042
      @brettdubbeld9042 9 лет назад

      In all reality if he did that roll bar correctly it is more then likely safer that what it was, and with no back seat there is not real "ejection" problem to worry about, I'd probably put some five point security harnesses it it just for preference. And I don't honestly think he'd be driving it to quickl
