day trip to Mt. Charleston, Nevada

Video from a day trip to Mt. Charleston, Nevada. About an hours drive from the LV Strip. A great trip that takes you from the desert to the mountains. On the day we visited the temperature was about 30 degrees cooler up there than it was back in the city. The lodge you'll see in the video is the Mt. Charleston Lodge. You can stop and eat there, they rent small cabins too.
We took the Mt. Charleston Scenic Drive, also called the Spring Mountain Scenic Drive. Hwy 156,157 & 158

I used to hunt black bear there in the 70's there was hunting guide there by the name Stokley. He had this dip on the top of his head, everytime it rained he would have a big puddle of water in the middle of it. I wonder if he's still up there.

We o every year and generally get there to see snow. We will be there in Jan, for my birthday. Eata bowl of soup and have a bloody Mary in the cafe

thank you, yes it's free and a beautiful drive. Lunch and the ride up the ski lift were the only things that cost any money that day.

me you must not like the outdoors and beautiful scenery.THE log cabins are amazing with jet tubs fireplace tv fridge and you wake up to the beautiful scenery out your cabin window. My huband and went for a getaway and absolutely loved walking the trails seeing Mary Jane Falls natural waterfall.
