For many of us stationed at Angel's Peak "Shopworn" Air Force Radar Station, what you experienced was our daily life for 18 months or more. When you mentioned the smell, the quiet, and the beautiful views, a flood of wonderful memories came to mind. After my time in the Air Force, I married and brought my wife to Vegas and, of course, to Mt. Charleston several times. We hiked the trails, packed a picnic lunch, and spent many wonderful hours there. Thanks for making the video. Once again your videos are a joy to watch.
What's so fun is you can go visit the snow for the day and go home and not have to shovel the driveway. You don't have to shovel sunshine here in Vegas
Hello Krista - thank you for watching this video, and we are glad you found it helpful! Congratulations on your new home - what a fabulous place to live, wow!
Thank you for highlighting the USAF 9068 Memorial and The Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial. As Chairman of the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial Committee I am very grateful.
What an awesome video...thanks for sharing...this is now on my bucket list. I never seen a well film journey to and thru Mount Charleston. Thanks again! ( my 2020 summer trip will include this adventure for sure!. )
bradonlap If we inspire you to drive up there on your next trip, our job is done lol! Seriously, you will consider it time well spent. Something about a mountain...words fail me!
Hello and welcome to our channel! We are so glad you discovered us - and grateful that you are watching some of our earlier videos. We love love love going out and about in the areas surrounding Las Vegas, and showing you what else we have around here. :)
what a nice video guys. i enjoyed every bit of it spectacular views and you 2 seem like such a nice couple. i guess i can relate to you because we are in the same age group of course i am a tad older but what the heck age is only a number lol. i am now an avid subscriber keep em coming
Thank you so much for watching this one - it was very early in our vlogging career. 😊 Mount Charleston is a marvel, especially as you get above 5000 feet in elevation - there are junipers and pines and cottonwoods, it smells like Christmas, and much much greener and cooler than the desert floor!
Hello! I am just seeing this - so, did you go? You may know that, sadly, the Mount Charleston Lodge burned down some time ago, but they are rebuilding.
So glad you chose to watch this one - we love it up there, and would be happy to expose visitors to the unexpected mountain scenery to be found a stone's throw from the Strip!
LOL well since I am pretty sure we don't look like Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, I presume you mean the quirky couple in the RV! We'll take it, they're fun! :)
Wife and I just went up there for the first time yesterday. It was Sunday so no room at the restaurant but took in the scenery and flew the drone a bit. Will be going back soon. Nice video guys!
Oh we are so glad you watched this oldie but goodie! I am thinking the aspens and cottonwoods up there are looking golden, and the views are gorgeous. If you can manage to go on a weekday, the Lodge is much less busy, and you can enjoy a lovely breakfast or lunch. :)
You may be 45 minutes from the Strip, but you're in a completely different world up there..! What a great video. Now I have to visit Mt. Charleston next time I drive to Las Vegas!
Perfect place to for an away day getaway for sure. The spring mountain's&the sheep mountain's aren't only known for their scenery by the way"ufo's over vegas"has caught a lot of UFO activity in that area on film.Would be wary of walking in those hill's at night..Good job,no need for a drone right up there lol
simon Yikes, the drone would get lost forever in those treetops! And yes, it is a perfect away day getaway...I love that phrase. As for suspicious phenomena in the sky...well that’s a given in these parts!
Liking these Dale! This is wonderful and a little easier on the pocket book lol thank you! Btw beginning my McKenzie channel marathon riiiiigggght now! 👍
How new is that visitor center in Mt. Charleston? We would go up there occasionally with my parents. But never saw the visitor center. It's been 6 years since we visited Mt. Charleston. Hard to believe. But I can always remember because my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor after we got back. We knew something wasn't right before that. So this trip was very memorable for us.
It opened in spring 2015, on a site right near the hotel, that used to be a golf course. And yes, of course, that would be a visit that you would always remember...
Mr. Elastomeric1 I love that - Ace video! Big happy face on that comment! 😁 I am actually Cleveland born and raised, and Dale’s family hails from Ontario, Canada. As for areas to relocate to...I recommend you come out and spend a few days checking things out. On the west side, Summerlin is fabulous. On the southeast end of the valley, lots of people move to Henderson - it’s very suburban. Best of luck on your move!
Being born and raised in Las Vegas I take a little offense to your comment. Not all people here are actually from here. I don't know what experience you've had but I feel I'm very kind. In fact I think people have preconceived notions I remember going to camp and people ask what casino do I live in. Yes this is a very transient town not many people set down roots but there are few hopefully you'll get to meet some of us

Hello Krista - thank you for watching this video, and we are glad you found it helpful! Congratulations on your new home - what a fabulous place to live, wow!
I’ve been there in 2019. Love the lodge.
The main building with the kitchen burned down in late September the morning I was going to visit on motorcycle. Then got rained out! ;-(
Thank you for highlighting the USAF 9068 Memorial and The Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial. As Chairman of the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial Committee I am very grateful.
Sir, you’ve made our day with this comment, thank you. We are very moved by the story, and visit the memorial whenever we are on Mt. Charleston.
Wow! Just beautiful! Haven’t been here yet. Must go!

Went to Mount Charleston for the first time last year and it was great. Big Temperature difference. Great for motorcycle riding.
One of Las Vegas’s least known treasures!
Awesome vlog! As always!
Thanks so much for watching - this was two years ago, great memories up there. :)
Thank you for this! I live in Vegas (almost 3 years) and I've never been to Mount Charleston! I'm going asap...

Great video! I've hiked several trails in the Mt. Charleston area, can't wait to come back. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in NY state...

Ace video; looking to relocate from Ft. Lauderdale any areas you favor? You're to nice to be from Nevada. Where did ya move from?

I lived there 25 years
Is there dew on the ground here in the mornings on Spring time?
No not really - not enough moisture in the air
Lodge burnt down
Hey Paula you playing hookie 😂
Yep! It was a Wednesday, and I took the afternoon off (vacation time) to go up and film this. 😁
