No ranking because of mother and her variables during the outing. And if I might add. I need to get my hands on some teasers, I believe it to be the game changer. I see they worked out great on many of your videos.. Thanks Jerry! Till the next one

BUT I would certainly add some teasers I think its just in my style :) I love the pencils but found the little necks work much better with the casting tackle I like to use. Thanks again for sharing that Mrosa!

  • @Exploremorefishing

    Great breakdown! ...honestly I was expecting the bucktail to be on that list .....do you like using bucktails ? If no why? ( BTW I really struggle with bucktails lol )

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  5 лет назад +3

      Bucktails with lead are great but they seem to work best fished alone. These lures all in conjunction with a teaser many days work magic. The two lures in the water just get attention.
      Interesting note as the bucktail is my #1! The teaser is the same lure as a bucktail but no lead. The method of presentation and delivery is different but the teaser is a full bona fide bucktail. You could actually use a sliding egg sinker and work them the same as a lead headed bucktail!

  • @vsonic86
    @vsonic86 2 года назад +1

    Man I just lost my super strike needle fish today😭 have you ever lose any lure? Particularly the needle fish? And for sp minnow, why do you prefer sinking instead of float?

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  2 года назад +1

      oh yea it happens to me a bunch as well I feel it 25 bucks a pop. The sp i do prefer the sinker may go floater during calm conditions or bay but will carry both with me if the fish are on them

    Hey Jerry. Just got in from a evening of Striper fishing 🎣. After watching your last video. It made me get out and give it a go. And first cast was a 26” fish which here in Maryland is a keeper size. Two per person 20” only one over 28”. I got my limit in 2cast. I caught 23 fish total. Keep the awesome vids coming. • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  5 лет назад +1

      I love the old bombers but on the advent of the salt pro minnow I found them to be fantastic in the surf. I used to load my bombers and like the idea I no longer have to do that. I think they make new bombers now (that you mention) that are more salt surf friendly. On a calm night or if I fish backwaters I will still goto the old bombers.

  • @SurfSkagit
    @SurfSkagit 5 лет назад +1

    I was thinking you will go for a Btail 🤔
    Good to see you chose the teaser/fly 👍
    Highly suggested try the teaser not only as a dropper rig, but also as a trailer fly just tie 3’ in 40lb from the single hook, either from a popper or any lure you prefer. Remember to stop the lure before it hits the water so the fly won’t tangle on the lure. Popper and needle is my favorite ones to use the trailer rig.

      I always tell myself in the winter to do that but always revert in front will have to do!!! Thanks much for sharing that Mag! • @robertjanko6709
    @robertjanko6709 5 лет назад +1

    Jerry: how deep is the water you are fishing in with the diamond jigs and how much is their weight? In the baltic sea I use alike baits for pilkfishing in 15 to 30ft depth. Spinfishing from the shore is like casting as far out as possible with light line through coast wobblers of 1/2 to 1 ounce with thin, 10 lbs braided line.
    BTW: I wouldve bet my a.. on the teaser for No.1! Keep on fishing, greets to your girl.

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Robert, the water is fairly shallow on the surf normal mid moon high water my guess is 6-12 with swells and all. The tube does cut distance on the cast but you can still get where ya need. If I was fishing an area as you I would do exactly as you were doing and drop a teaser on with a smaller hook and less hair and then try without one. Thanks much as always Robert!

    Hi i wonder if you could kindly advise as to good saltwater waders and salt water korkers as well as boot foot waders. Further, i was considering of buying ODM Rods 9ft 1/2 ounce to 3 ounce and i wonder if some good others options i might look at with reel you may recommend to be used with it. We fish on mostly jetties with very shallow beaches and no heavy surf and wonder if stocking foot waders with gravel guards would suffice.... Thanks

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  5 лет назад +1

      If you are jetty fishing, waders are not the best option and probably the worst. Dry pants with a wade boot with korkers would be a better option you need optimal footing as any wrong step can cause a catastrophic injury. Look about online for jetty attire before making any decision and always exercise extreme caution. I normally fish jetty in the summer so wear shorts with a good wade boot korkers or carbide spikes are a MUST.
      I hear the ODM rods are quite good but I use casting tackle so hard to weigh in my opinion. I have used many blanks star, lami st croix penn and I like them all! for BEACH fishing I use neprene when its cold and breathables when it is warmer or day. I like the bootfoot on the beach as the sand is less of an issue and stockingfoots in the bay or rugged terrain. Some good questions there!
