      Its one of those topics that plaque off gridders at times when they are considering a rainwater system. Its easy. I showed it. Next we'll work on more of the system. I have to explain whats safe and whats not ( IMO )

      Sad we do not have a Garden in. I get rain x2 a week solid. TN is wonderful besides the pea soup thick humidity.

    Great tips Billy Joe, PuredCloud and you are of the same mind, his mottoe: "live by your wits, not...." dang, I forgot! lol....From a cute blonde here on RUclips I learned how to clean the 20 gallon water jugs, with 1/2 cup popcorn and 1/2 cup white vinegar, swoosh it around a coupla times, 5 to 10 minutes, drain the contents, rinse about 2 times and you're done. I also love your way of cleaning these rain barrels, "rock n roll the barrels for a coupla minutes back and forth", but lol....your hands stained with molasses beer, what would Sharon say seeing ya like your molasses hands?!! thanks for sharing the COOL video and the bloopers, liked and keep on CRUSHIN' IT Billy Joe! :D

      If it was winter I would not of even tried to get it out. Be impossible. As you saw. Hot 85F TN weather it ran watery like liquid gold/oil. So always clean them in warm/hot weather for sure.

    I acquired some with molasses in them. Where are you going to clean these out? If I go to the car wash it's going to cost an arm & leg. If I do it at my home molasses will be all over my driveway or my back yard. Any advice?

    • @TheWickerShireProject

      Gallon or two of Hot water. Have a 5 gallon pail ready. Loosen it up. The toilet awaits your disposal. I wish you had a compose area. That kinda sugar would ignite the bioload. Just make sure you have the barrels on a platform or help to dump them. Once the bulk is out you can use the remainder to feed the lawn. As a brewer we just make a Brandy out of it. Its safe to assume its loaded with a stabilizer like potassium sorbate.
      Dump what you can carry into the pail.
      Be sure both Bungs are open and use the top one as a flush and the bottom as a drain and let the water run through it.

    • @bslmarketing
      @bslmarketing 2 месяца назад +1

      @@TheWickerShireProject That sounds like a great idea. So basically use 2 gallons of boiling water to get it all loosed up then dump into a 5 gallon bucket and dump down toilet or safe spot in the woods lol ? Remainder wont make a mess in my driveway with a hose?

    • @TheWickerShireProject
      @TheWickerShireProject  2 месяца назад

      @@bslmarketing Make sure you have a few drops of dish soap in there and roll it back and forth. You can watch the 10 day forecast. Any chance of good rain use it to your advantage to make washing everything down and out of view easy. Our wash out wasn't so bad.

    I've been wanting to get me some rain barrels, now I know the easy way to clean them, but I've got even a easier way my back yard is on a hill, so I'll start at the top and roll them down hill, they should be clean when they reach the bottom

    • @TheWickerShireProject
      @TheWickerShireProject  2 года назад +1

      We thought of that method too. Shake method only took 1 Minute wasn't bad at all. Man handling them around all day ate time.

      I thought they would of fermented in the heat. The sugar was watery from being so hot in the sun. Poured right out very fast. I should of included, " Best done on warm or hot days as the contents are more liquified!"

      We both know I wanted ferment it out! I miss brewing. I was under the impression it was spoiled. 100% wasn't. I tossed about 2 gallons of it. Now it ran out like a rampaging river. It was hot and fluidy. Never clean barrels in the winder with this kinda stuff in it. Would be a sludge block. That would of been x20 harder to remove.
