    About Makes Scents Candles:
Makes Scents Candles started at the end of June 2020 after being bought a candle making kit for beginners. I then developed the concept of up-cycling as a means to step away from the quick fix self care solution. As someone who's creative with a passion for nature, making plant-based candles was an obvious choice and the wildflower seed idea grew from there.

A few candle makers I’ve come across only sell or market their candles at Christmas. Do you have any thoughts on this strategy?

This is a great question! Candles are becoming increasingly popular throughout different seasons as there are so many scents to choose from. Many candle makers will have a main core collection, which are their best sellers, which can be marketed throughout the year. Then often limited edition scents for seasons such as Valentines, Autumn and Christmas. Christmas is a popular time to market products, everyone will be doing the same, which can become challenging to be seen. When building up a brand from the start, awareness is key throughout the year, so when it comes round to big events or seasons, customers will remember seeing your brand during the months before and often make that link.
Another alternative during Summer months for example, is bringing out ranges such as diffuser scents. During the warmer months customers may want to add an aroma to a room in a different way. It would definitely be best to research your audience and what products you may want to sell seasonally or as a core collection.
      Hope this helps! 🙂
