Yes, and that's why they were so kind to her, although her performance wasn't all that. Audiences and judges of Got Talent shows know nothing about classical singing, and they are like "wow" at every high-pitched voice. In reality, any vocal student in a conservatory could sing at least as well as her, and many much better.

Then we get to her voice, I don't have the right words, let me try, magnificent. I am so very proud and happy for her. She is timeless in her beauty & voice. Her boys could not have a better mom!

Also a young girl who sang ‘ I didn’t know my own strength “ her name is Tia! Her mom had an audition, but she actually set her daughter up, and when it was the mother’s turn , she gave the spot to her amazing daughter! She sang like the song was telling us her experience with a wrong doing man that brought her to a fever pitch of anger. She is just fandamntastic!

I don’t think he lacked compassion, he just always told the truth to those auditioning, he does have an unparalleled instinct in knowing who will make it, recognizes true talent, but has become more mellow in his delivery.
