We should suggest the next BTS rappers for him 😅. BTS label always put out a great MV and haven’t disappoint. Maybe he should react to RM from BTS next
Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat, & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. This man can build up 16 bars just by starting ahead of the beat, move to hitting behind, refuse to resolve the bar and then start hitting non traditional notes. Not only can he spit bars super fast, HE’S A FUCKING GENIUS, building palaces around other industry rappers with his lyrics and flows. "Bang PD-nim told me I've become much brighter after releasing my mixtape (in reference to the letter and how he released his first mixtape as a way to let out toxic emotions). He even asked me where the indecisive person full of wrath from before had gone. It was my complex and the way to solve it was music that I need to make". To begin with, “Daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. It is also played to announce important guests and other royalty. The music video starts with the King Agust D with a scar running across his eye. It looks fresh and hasn’t completely healed over yet. The other protagonist of the video is Agust D as a lowborn, also with a scar running across his face, completely healed over. This is relevant in order to show a natural progression and further reinforce that these two characters are simply versions of the same person in and out of time. The King represents AGUST D of the past, with wounds fresh from the humiliation, malicious comments of haters and lack of support is defensive and reacts violently to opposition. A Suga full of ambition and anger (represented by his iconic blond hair from his first mixtape Agust D). This King is a tyrant, who kills those who oppose him and steops in his subjects. Yoongi himself has said that he used to be a very angry person who was overwhelmed with his career and mental health issues (as per a letter he shared on the Bangtan Fan Café, interviews afterwards and his mixtapes themselves). For AGUST D of the present, the lowborn, those scars have faded away, leaving behind a more mature persona. In Korean tradition, a man or woman with a scar is barred from coveting the throne even if it rightfully belongs to them. As such, the fact that the King has an evident scar right on his face proves that he’s probably had to fight off all royalty to retain his position. It is likely that he wasn’t born royal either and had to fight his way up to the top. Having struggled so much, the King is wary of outsiders and taken on the role of a tyrant so that nobody can even dare to threaten his place. Taking the easy way out, he executes whoever complains, signified by the kneeling figures in black and disembodied victims of the King.. Peasant Suga is his current self, grounded and surrounded by others (as seen by him being backed by his crew of 6 other men and a woman, is quietly making the moves to stage a coup. He’s loved by the people and he has connections everywhere. The 6 men in his crew represent the rest of the members of BTS and the woman represents ARMY). The rest of the MV is pretty self-explanatory, with the "lowborn" AGUST D shooting The King. He's decided to kill the tyrant King through a Coup. He is trying to kill his toxic past self (which can also be a reference to his previous mixtape's song The Last: "Min Yoongi was dead. -I killed him-") to fully embrace who he is now; someone who doesn't care about charts or hatred from others, someone who isn't bothered by money and whose ambitions are less greedy and more rooted in artistry rather than a twisted idea of success. He doesn't need to fight to be at the top anymore, he already is. He KNOWS this, it isn't arrogance, it's just a fact; and he's settled with who he is now. Daechwita’s music video single-handedly chalks the progression from Suga’s first mixtape to his latest, from being a young rapper to a professional Grammy-nominated artist. In order to reach this place, Suga has had to reject parts of himself that focused entirely on the negatives, on rage and on the material aspects of his success. He’s had to fight his shadow (a concept we see in his own solo from MOTS: 7 - Shadow), represented by the King Agust D and only when he could overpower his shadow, his true self could prevail. I think that listening to both his mixtapes is a great way to understand why the shift between D-2 Yoongi and Agust D Yoongi is so jarring but beautiful as well. Agust D and The Last are a wonderful way to start, so I would love if you reacted to those two songs next! You can feel how much of different place he's in now compared to back then. The Last is very heavy, though, so be careful! Yoongi was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control, all in his "spare" time for his fans as part of his second mix tape (D-2) that he gave to ARMY for free on soundcloud... He literally never stops creating. D-2 Album interview - ruclips.net/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/видео.html BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work - Daechwita explanation ruclips.net/video/_-4njtd0WpE/видео.html (better than dkdktv's in my personal opinion), check it out if you're interested! Other Video Fun facts - 1. The executione is actually the butcher shown at the beginning of the MV, the one peasant Suga greets. 2- He is, also, the director of lighting haha 3. The gun used to kill the King was a Colt M 1860 ARMY 4. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when Yoongi was young 5. The picture on the banner the guys held up half way through is an iconic image drawn by JK of their boss PD Bang and Suga did the iconic PD Bang finger spin! 6. Jin and JK make a cameo in the video! Try to find them hehe Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times. Yoongi (Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea.
Wow, that explanation of the details that are in the video was amazing! Thanks for taking the time to add it; it added so much depth that I didn’t even realize was there. I need to watch the MV again now that I’ve learned so much more about it. Suga and all the BTS members take the time and effort to write quality work and their videos are so complex that you can watch them over and over and continue to find more.
The part you don’t like is traditional sound almost like a chant. The instruments in the background are also traditional Korean instruments. He was combining traditional military march music and instruments with modern rap . So it is a masterpiece
No, I don't think that's the part he was referring. When he goes Daechwitaaaaa it's not traditional it's actually an autotuned verse, it's something very actual and modern. Maybe he doesn't like that because he's old school but today rappers use a lot of attune verses.
@@Djlullaby22 i know that part is auto tuned but to me it sounds like a chant. Maybe that’s not its true purpose but i feel it goes well with the traditional instruments playing in the back ground. Im not too familiar with rap. I love heavy metal and rock. Only BTS has made me appreciate their rap :)
@@Djlullaby22 He pointed it out when Suga was singing it with autotune but I don't think it was really because of that, he didn't specify that at least. And yeah Suga used a bit of autotune for this singing line but it's not for making it modern, listen to the fisrt seconds of the song where the chant came from a real traditional band, and compare it's the same feeling
We love Anthony Ray! He discovered BTS through SUGA’s music. It was so nice to see him on his BTS journey since then. LOL “pharmaceutical reps.”😂😂 I am black American, and Agust D is my favorite rapper. He’s so versatile. Produces for other artists, and he writes and produces his own music, like this one.
Daechwita is the name for the traditional music played when a king passes. The part you don't like is the actual Daechwita music played over the song. It is the same guy playing two versions of himself, like you figured out by the end. I'm glad you liked it. I found your thoughts very interesting and insightful. I like that you went back to reread the lyrics to get an understanding of what he's saying.
Yes, Army told you that BTS has 3 rappers, SUGA (agust D) and RM were underground rappers, and J-HOPE is a dancer (street dance) he learned to rap with RM and Suga, he developed his own style very different from them and is excellent like the other two. J-Hope "ARSON". RM "Joke". The 3 together "cypher 3" or "UGH".
The name Agust D is DT is Daegu Town where Suga is from and the rest is Suga spelled backwards. So DaeguTownSUGA :) His skills are absolutely amazing. Glad to see you enjoy it.
I’m 14 but I can’t help but agree! I never listened or really cared for rap before I found BTS. I’m in America and most rap just talks about sex and drugs which I didn’t want to listen to. But, once I found BTS it was such a shock to see them rapping about good/important matters. Then I went into Sugas solo work and fell in love
Welcome my guy. Agust D is what I call a philosopher's rapper. He has something to say. Aye, he has a couple of these brag-a-docious hits like Daechwita, but in many of his tracks the lyricism is philosophical and stands in the threshold between questioning and storytelling. "Strange (ft. RM of BTS)" questions socio-economics and capitalism, it's a good introduction to how Agust D likes to question life in his rap. ruclips.net/video/LNioMaHGjmY/видео.html
BTS’ label does a really good job with the subtitle translations. They aim to rhyme in English translations as well to capture the essence of the original Korean rhymes
I guess it's safe to say that you don't need to get shocked when BTS really raps, because 2 of the members ( Suga and Rm) were underground rappers. I'd suggest you to check: Do You by Rm Monster by Rm Change by Rm and Wale ( idk who's feat. who) Joke by Rm ( aggressively good ) Agust D by Agust D aka Suga Give it to me by Agust D The Last by Agust D Hansang by Jhope More by Jhope Ddaeng by BTS rapline ( Rm, Suga, Jhope) Cyphers 1-4 by BTS rapline These are usually their early works except for more, so yeah. Hope you'd enjoy.
I like Anthony Ray, I remember when he first discovered BTS. It was through watching this video that he discovered BTS. Suga aka Agust D is going on Tour starting end of April, and he should be dropping his solo album soon. All seven BTS members are doing their solo projects right now before they enlist in the military. So far JIN has enlisted, and it was just announced that J-Hope, one of our rap line, is going to be next. so it will be soon, and all the members will follow by end of 2023 or beginning of 2024. They have to serve for 18 months, then they will come back together as a group in 2025.
I bet if you get the chance to just listen to the song all the way thru without interpretation, you will really begin to understand the extreme quality of Sugas rap cadence. He is a master!!! I didn't like rap ,music before BTS. Now I love their rap! And I'm 61 yrs old!
Another important thing, is that the 3 rappers all come from underground rap. I would like to suggest checking RM - Joke and J Hope and his solo performance at Hollapalooza. They haven't just arrived, they have been in the scene for 10 years. PS, we all know and love Anthony Ray.
Yess! So Agust D is Suga from BTS, Suga also raps in BTS but when he does his solo work he goes by Agust D which is Suga backwards and DT for Daegu Town where he is from in South Korea. A lot of us call it his alter ego, he's absolutely amazing at what he does! Looking forward to you seeing more of his work as well as RM, and J Hope! If you're up to hear more of their work as a group ARMY has your back on recommendations, we're always up to introducing and educating more people on our bangtan boys! Loved this reaction!!
No hate here, I thoroughly enjoyed the reaction. The part you were iffy about, where the Daeschwita line is sung is paying homage to what the word "Daechwita" means. It's a song usually sung traditionally when a Korean king enters. The singing and melody in this song is very similar to what that traditionally sounds. This whole song was him cementing his king status in the industry. Hope this helps :) Do some more reactions!
Not sure if someone commented it before, but Suga is playing 2 different characters, or 2 parts of himself. The peasant (shorter darker hair) is of the people and more at peace with himself and his community, and the blond king is the part of him that has a tendency to want power and glory. While that served him for a bit, he knows it’s not sustainable to be in that kind of mindset. So his more down to earth self essentially attempts to kill off his “mad king” self. Kinda sorta genius. 😳🔥
That is a theory but Yoongi did say in one of the behind the scenes interview that he doesn’t know if he actually killed the king. Personally I really like that because I interpret the king being he “shadows” greed, etc. (also mentioned in The Last) and he will always be battling/fighting that side of him. That is how I like to interpret it.
Yes it’s the same person in two outfits. Lots of interpretation but according to Suga/AgustD himself, it’s about the current Suga (black hair) killing off his past self (blonde).
Daechwita is a traditional Korean march, played for political events at the time of kings, army or king movements, etc. The two characters are Suga Rei and Sugar from the lower class. Suga king, a tyrant who kills people who have grievances and grievances. Lower-class Suga, at 06:44 minutes, appears with six friends (BTS mention) and there is also a woman sitting in the tent (Army mention). We also see the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk, 'creator of BTS', when he arrives by car to face the tyrant king. He starts a revolt. The king Suga has him arrested and killed. And he, bound and kneeling, continues chanting Daechwita. Daechwita being a song that is sung when the king is present indicates that the poor Suga is the true king. The people who were prostrate in the courtyard now nod along with poor Suga. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill poor Suga frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. Metaphor: the lower class 'taking down the system', mentions BTS that started as a small group, discriminated against, from a small company in bankruptcy, who were despised and disdained, but who ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in kpop, true kings of the piece. At the time of the dynasties there was a strong separation between social classes and slaves were considered nothing. The poor would never become part of the elite. Today BTS is the elite, but it was a tough achievement, with a lot of 'blood, sweat and tears'. They 'overthrew' the dominant system of the Korean music industry, as they continue to do until now, overthrowing the arrogance and prejudice of the world's music industry. ruclips.net/video/JayEtmyXVpo/видео.html - explanation 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
AGUST D has 2 really good mixtapes and then I don´t know if you have listened to UGH and Ddaeng from the BTS rap line. Yes, all Asian cultures are mindblowing. Loved your reaction. This is like a movie. Amazing production. Saludos from Mexico. Bang PD is the chairman that put BTS together.
Suga is from Daegu Town (DT). August D is backward of DT Suga. Yes, Both of them are Suga. It's a story about old Suga and current Suga. This song contain a lot of Korean culture references. If you want to know more, you can check the Daechwita explanation by DKDKTV. If you want to dig deeper, BTS has 3 rappers and they have different style. RM - He is very poetic so you will find his lyrics has a lot of poetic words play, deep meaning and sometimes can fit in different situation. Suga - His lyrics usually raw, straight forward, and savage JHope - He is a dancer before he becomes a rapper so his rapping is somehow melodic? When you check their individual songs, you will find that the way they rap also different. Bus since I am not a rapper, I don't know what is different but it's just sound and feel different to me. Since you are a rapper, you probably will know it. 💜
Suga actually played 3 parts, blond haired king, commoner, and twentieth century guy. He is a rapper of at least 15 years now. Did you spot JK and Jin playing bystanders having a fight? BTS has its own resident martial artist in Jimin, the sexy sweet guy. He learnt Korean martial arts and won a scholarship to go to China and learn from them. Daechwita describes traditional Korean music to announce the arrival of the king, also marching armies.
13:51 - Big Hit realllly goes hard about trying to make sure the subtitles and translations are as lyrical and complete as possible. The color coded fan sub videos often get things wrong, Big Hit's official CCs are where it's at.
I think the part of Daechwita that you don't like is the actual traditional Daechwita music from Korean culture. What you do like is when Suga aka Agust D turns the word into rap.
and this is for his mixtape ...All of BTS write and or Produce now...but Suga s an award winning and BTS main procucer....He has won awards producing for others as well
Yes he is playing both characters. This song has crazy deep meaning and symbolism. You need to check out the explanation video and you will be blown away. He really is a lyrical genius. Agust D stands for D Town Suga. Read it backwards. The D is for Daegu which is the city he’s from in S Korea. Side note, the two guys in the beginning where he bumps into them at the market and they start to fight is Jin and Jungkook from BTS. The entire rap line is insane. RM, Suga and J Hope. Everything they write is nothing but depth. The entire group is beyond fire!
If you want to invest more time into BTS members I suggest Taylor's Guide to BTS. 3 rappers and 4 vocalists so freaken talented. You'll get to see how Agust D/SUGA got to this place. Another member, Jimin has a black belt in Taekwando . Just be warned there's a lot of reading subtitles but it's well put together. BTS fan base loves watching people react to it.
Yes! It same guy and yes His name is Suga from BTS group, but when He does a Solo Korean rap song His name is Agust 'D which is his stage rap name, a Man who spits fired ..🔥 Kpop is not about Pop music that what some Americans People don't get when they don't understand Kpop well or never done reaction Kpop because they still think Kpop is all poppy music back in 90's times change you know, Kpop industry rap and sings not only Pop, but Rock, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop different genre's you name it that's why alot People listen to Kpop Global International by away not just Asians or Korean Asian. BTS does mixed languages in their songs Korean and English mix mostly their in their Korean language native tongue. BTS are 7 members Korean asian Guys group, 3 Rappers and 4 Vocalist, who came from foriegn Country call 'South Korea. In this MV Daechwita story MV, He is playing two characters one born of a Slave or bottom poor guy with dark hair which is Suga and blond hair one is Emperor King Agust 'D who looks down on poor People that he wants to chop off their heads off he became a Mad Emperor or King..😈👑 Started from the bottom now we are here It's kinda like that for Suga aka Agust 'D.
Thanks for your reaction. Actually Suga/Agust D is going on tour in April and May. Here are the dates the US: April 26 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Belmont Park, NY April 27 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Belmont Park, NY April 29 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Newark, NJ May 3 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Rosemont, IL May 5 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Rosemont, IL May 6 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Rosemont, IL May 10 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Los Angeles, CA May 11 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Los Angeles, CA May 14 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Los Angeles, CA May 16 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Oakland, CA May 17 -「SUGA | Agust D Tour」Oakland, CA
He’s attempting to dethrone the mad king (blonde Suga)that’s at the top bragging. The main take away is when he said he got everything he ever wanted but he needs a reality check to stay grounded. Suga is being self aware to the danger of the celebrity life and trying to stay humble. Also the guys fighting in the back were Jin and JK. I recommend watching the live performance at muster sowoozoo where all the members perform this song because we rarely get to hear the vocalists rap
Your Channel therefore it's your choice. No problem. Thank you for giving our 'grumpy Suga' aka Agust D at chance to show you what he can do. Wave from 'across the pond' yeah I'm British. Yike's forgot to say the other 2 Rappers are RM (like Suga cames from the underground Rap HipHop scene) and J-Hope who was a free style street dancer before he also became a Rapper) They are the 3 main Song Writers, Composers and Producers of BTS. Although all 7 members of BTS are Song Writers, Composers and Producers.
Did he just mentioned Anthony Ray!?! Anthony Anthonyrayder? Ayyy I’m living fr Anthony’s Bangtan (BTS) reaction! 😁Anyways 📣 I’m enjoying and loving this. Love the energy. Stay blessed 💜
BTS is one of the most successful artists and the biggest band in the world. They collaboratied with a lot of artists such as: Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Wale, Lauv, Fall Out Boy, Warren G, Jason Derulo, Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Becky G, MAX, J.Cole, Desiigner, Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, ...(+more) The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalist) from South Korea. They do not have a specific target audience - people of all age groups and genders listen to them. BTS have a huge amount of songs as a group, and also each of them has their own solo stuff, so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from. Anthony Ray is great, I'm sure he will recommend great songs🔥💜 I would also like to recommend this, If you want to know more about them: "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" ( ruclips.net/video/huV_yIdxZPY/видео.html )
Epik High is a Korean hip hop trio. They are so dope. Been in the industry for 20years. Lesson 3 is a great song. Uses some sampling of American rap. I think you'd like it.
OMG, clicked on you because I love BTS and watched Anthony Ray jump down the BTS rabbit hole! He is a spittin bars artist himself!!! I just watched your reaction to A Ray! I love the respect you show to A Ray AND August D!!!! I see you made your over 100,000!!!! Will definetly check out more!!!!❤
I loved when you said it's like a movie because it's the same thing i said when i get to discover AGUST D discography and i'am so proud i stan this talented man
Great reaction. I really enjoyed it. Please check out his first title track from his first mix-tape. It's called 'Agust D' off Agust D. It is totally FIRE.
I urge you to watch A guide to BTS by Taylor…it will give you more info into the individual genres that each member does….RM’s Joke, Agust D’s self titled song…which are all rap…💜
IT's the music that is played for the Emperor ....like in the US, they play Hail to the chief........get it? I'm the King....hear my music? I made it and I use the Kings music to dethrone the King....it's actually rather intelligent and IMO rather fly
Daechwita is the traditional Korean Music that was played in front of the King’s procession whenever he left the palace and traveled among the people, to let them know that the King was coming. So by saying play the Daechwita loud, he’s really saying, “the king has arrived.” The chanting on the word Daechwita that you weren’t into is how they would actually have chanted to music back in the Joseon Dynasty 1392-1910. So that part of the song is another historical reference to his culture. It’s understandable that that part would sound foreign to your ear because it’s not a kind of music that is influenced by western culture. If you really want to hear BTS rap you should watch Outro: Tear live at Wembly Stadium with English subtitles. It doesn’t have captions so you have to search for the one with English subtitles already added. And if you really want to see a face that doesn’t match the voice you should watch Stray Kids’ God’s Menu music video (with the captions on)
Brooo yo soy de México, es genial que te gustará el video, normalmente no se encuentran tantas reacciones de calidad. Como sea si deseas conocer más de Agust D te recomendaría escuchar la canción “Agust D” es una de mis favoritas.
Love this man he is min yoongi is his birth name AKA SUGA in BTS and AgustD when he is solo... Yes all three characters are him.... And FYI in the very beginning when he is wearing the rating cap and the flight happens behind him at the market the tall gentleman in the blue is Jin from BTS .... On another note SUGA is derived from his basketball position shooting guard and AgustD is derived from SUGA with DT the two initials from his hometown
Like your reaction ❤ The song is amazing prefect🔥 the visual.. the story talen.. the lirick.. the beat.. the flow.. the everything awesome ..incredible .. suga is genius.. he got unique voice.. the best producer.. songwriter.. composer.. masterpiece.. multitalented.. fast rapper.. king swag.. king of stage.. love suga so much 🥰😍💜
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance.
I enjoyed you enjoying Suga, he is a fantastic rapper. He was an undrgound rapper beforevhe joined BTS, Also RM. The third BTS rapper is J hope, who learnt to rap when he joined the band. They do a lot of crazy rap songs, try watching Ugh, Mic Drop and more if you like those. You will definitely like them.
He said "born a slave, now a king" and then in the flow switch up he talked about how he's reached the top and has nowhere to look up to anymore and "wants to look down and put his feet on the ground" so I interpret the ending as his "slave" or commoner self - the version of him that's just a person, not some trumped up idol king - is killing that king image and putting his feet back on the ground like he rapped about. I could, of course, be wrong, but that's my interpretation.
When BTS first started out 10 years ago they wrote a song as teenagers called HIP HOP PHILE (HIP HOP LOVER). It is a homage to their influences. I think you would like this, there is no video so do a lyric video.💜
Concert tickets for his tour is going on pre-sale tonight. Only people who have ARMY membership who signed up for pre-sales could register, but due to extremely high demands, they had a lottery on who got a code, so they can TRY to get tickets. I was lucky, but the majority of my moots were put on waitlist. It's gonna sell out so fast!! BTS does all kind of raps. Agust D has everything from "Daechwita" and "Agust D" to "First Love", "The Last" and "So Far Away". Our man SUGA (Agust D) even wrote two SAMSUNG "Over The Horizon" versions. I really recommend checking out RM's album "Indigo" and j-hope's "Jack In The Box" - j-hope got a documentary on his legendary performance at Lollapalooza where he headlined (his first solo performance ever) with full house.
Suga is from a Korean city called DAEGU and when he was young, in his first steps in RAP, in Daegu he was called D Town. DT stands for Daegu Town. So AGUST D is SUGA D T backwards: AGUSTD = DTSUGA. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Korean-English is referred to as Konglish I believe 😅 it’s the same guy, just dressed differently - it’s a metaphor for him rising above his old self to get better and grow. Like “out with the old, in with the new!”
The name August D Stands for Daegu Town And Shooting Guard Because Suga played basketball he was a shooting guard for the basketball team he played for. Could you imagine Suga singing Eminem's Rap God, I think he would slay.
The best way to appreciate BTS and get the most out of them is to first watch a lyric video so you get the contect of the song, then watch the MV and truly appreciate the art. 💜
Min YoonGi's stage name with BTS is Suga, a name he picked bc he love his position in basketball as a shooting guard. His other stage name for his solo works is AgusTD. Agus is the reverse of Suga and TD signifies Daegu Town, where he comes from and started his underground rapping. So Min YoonGi = Suga = AgusTD is the same person, just different personas. He is a rapper, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He had won award for his music producing too. However, his singing and dancing skills are not to be underrated. He's super talented!
Another BTS rapper, J-Hope, just released a single with J. Cole. You might like to check that out also. All the rapper's solo work is fire. Love Anthony Ray, too!
Yes sir, it's Suga from BTS. Agust D A gust P.s Daetchwita is a traditional Korean song I believe it's played around royalty or when royalty comes to town. Like a matching song. It's the same person, hun... And he originally signed with the company to be a producer and then they wanted him to rap too...so you probably guessed it, he made the beat too
I'm pretty sure your favorite bts member will be Suga. He has depth and wisdom in his rap, while not being afraid to be vulnerable too. He went through a lot of hardships in his early life, being born poor, which is why his lyrics said he was born a slave, but now he's made it financially. He and RM were looked down on for going mainstream as underground rappers, they were perceived to have sold themselves out, but I think by going mainstream they actually made rap more popular, understood and accepted in Korea. So in the end, Suga and RM actually did a lot for Korean rap as a whole.
Yes, in the video August D plays both characters. If I remember right, he said that the video was kind of the reflection of an internal fight between his past self that became famous and succesfull and felt as a king, and a more mature current self that tries to keep himself down to earth and focused on what's really important.
Suga of BTS produces his own stuff. It is all rap and he uses August D as his name for his solo stuff. He is Korean. The name of the song is the music you hear in the video played when the King was parading to announce his arrival in ancient times.
👋 If u like rap, I recommend u to reaction Bts rap line, For MV : RM joke & still life, JHope arsone, suga agustd, For live performance: Ugh & Cypher PT 3 busan concert👌 And for Bts song MV : butter, fire, mic drop, For bts live performance : baepsae, fire, so what ( stadium concert ) & Bts MMA / MAMA awards fyi each member of bts Vocal line / rap line have solo song, bts also speech at the UN & meet President Biden, they're totally good👍
Fun fact: the gun he holds is named ARMY. AGUST is SUGA of BTS and BTS's original full name is Bullet Proof BoyScouts. Gun vs Sword, Car vs Traditional Old scene, the Ordinary Person vs King, Genius Rapper vs Pill pop rappers, this song tells a lot of stories including Korean culture references he uses to reflect himself, his team (BTS), his company BigHit, his boss, how they gain people (ARMY) and turn into a giant group and label.
I don't know if somebody already told you but when BTS members do solo stuff they pay all by themselves. MV include ! And then put out their music for free on SoundCloud ! 🤯
Great Blowing and Hitting Daechwita (Korean: 대취타; lit. Great Blowing and Hitting) is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance.
Thank you for being open minded and trying August-D (Suga backwards). Same person not 2 rappers in this song. This is very traditional music thrown in to modern sound. Fyi 2 other BTS were background people. They support each other on solo projects.
"These guys are lit"... and you have only seen the tip of a very large iceberg! I hope you continue... you will not be disappointed...just ask Anthony Ray!
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO
Boom!! 🙌🏽
Hey, Anthony💜
Hi Anthony 🖐
We should suggest the next BTS rappers for him 😅. BTS label always put out a great MV and haven’t disappoint. Maybe he should react to RM from BTS next
Anthony hiiii. I also love seeing your reactions so far
D-2 Album interview - ruclips.net/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/видео.html
BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work - Daechwita explanation ruclips.net/video/_-4njtd0WpE/видео.html (better than dkdktv's in my personal opinion), check it out if you're interested!
Other Video Fun facts -
1. The executione is actually the butcher shown at the beginning of the MV, the one peasant Suga greets.
2- He is, also, the director of lighting haha
3. The gun used to kill the King was a Colt M 1860 ARMY
4. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when Yoongi was young
5. The picture on the banner the guys held up half way through is an iconic image drawn by JK of their boss PD Bang and Suga did the iconic PD Bang finger spin!
6. Jin and JK make a cameo in the video! Try to find them hehe
Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed....

@@AnnM833 thank you!
@@HinataUchihaInuzuka9 I checked out your links as well. Very nice! Again thanks for the education.
Thank you so much for this
The part you don’t like is traditional sound almost like a chant.
It's meant to sound traditional. Look up what a Daechwita is. It's part of what a daechwita sounds like.
@@MsJagoJi yes it does
@@Djlullaby22 He pointed it out when Suga was singing it with autotune but I don't think it was really because of that, he didn't specify that at least.
I like that you went back to reread the lyrics to get an understanding of what he's saying.

up
if by passes you mean dies that isn't correct. it was military marching music that announced when the king was going to enter a town when he traveled.
@@melbaraboo whoops yes, I meant when the king is passing through
Yes, Army told you that BTS has 3 rappers, SUGA (agust D) and RM were underground rappers, and J-HOPE is a dancer (street dance) he learned to rap with RM and Suga, he developed his own style very different from them and is excellent like the other two.
Glad to see you enjoy it.
failing as an army... i was today years old when i realized Agust D was DT Suga backwards. 😬
Almost 80 years old female got into BTS about 2 years ago and I never liked rap music until I heard BTS Rap line believe me they can really Spit fire
Hey Paulette Hi! From another "silver Army" , Borahae, Meg
I'd suggest you to check:
Do You by Rm
Monster by Rm
Change by Rm and Wale ( idk who's feat. who)
Joke by Rm ( aggressively good )
Agust D by Agust D aka Suga
Give it to me by Agust D
The Last by Agust D
Hansang by Jhope
More by Jhope
Ddaeng by BTS rapline ( Rm, Suga, Jhope)
Cyphers 1-4 by BTS rapline
These are usually their early works except for more, so yeah.
I was literally just crying too your reaction of whiskey lullaby and I thought to myself. I wonder if he’s ever reacted to Bts and now I’m here.
I bet if you get the chance to just listen to the song all the way thru without interpretation, you will really begin to understand the extreme quality of Sugas rap cadence. He is a master!!! I didn't like rap ,music before BTS. Now I love their rap! And I'm 61 yrs old!
Same, love their rap stuff as much as their Pop material and I am also 61 years old. BTS got me through cancer treatment.
💜 👍
Same here, Denise. I'm 69yo
Please go on RUclips and watch the Korean breakdown of these bars and you'll be blown away by the actual double and triple meetings😮
Very well put!
SUGA is killing off the evil persona of himself
That is a theory but Yoongi did say in one of the behind the scenes interview that he doesn’t know if he actually killed the king. Personally I really like that because I interpret the king being he “shadows” greed, etc. (also mentioned in The Last) and he will always be battling/fighting that side of him. That is how I like to interpret it.
Yes it’s the same person in two outfits. Lots of interpretation but according to Suga/AgustD himself, it’s about the current Suga (black hair) killing off his past self (blonde).
SUGA/AGUST D rapping and producing for more than decade

💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
you should check out 'agust d daecgwuta explained by a korean' that gives you a more detail about the entire video.
Suga - His lyrics usually raw, straight forward, and savage
JHope - He is a dancer before he becomes a rapper so his rapping is somehow melodic?
Daechwita describes traditional Korean music to announce the arrival of the king, also marching armies.
wow this was unexpected, excited for the reaction!!
What you do like is when Suga aka Agust D turns the word into rap.
and this is for his mixtape ...All of BTS write and or Produce now...but Suga s an award winning and BTS main procucer....He has won awards producing for others as well
Thanks for your reaction! Agust D is backwards SUGA (form his home town DaeguTown) his alter name ego when he does his own solo. Glad you enjoyed it
Ves la cicatriz...todo empieza con Amygdala 💜🇦🇷
Love Anthony Ray. His journey to become Army was so awesome to watch!!!
Yes! It same guy and yes His name is
Suga from BTS group, but when He does
a Solo Korean rap song His name is
Agust 'D which is his stage rap name,
a Man who spits fired ..🔥

In this MV Daechwita story MV, He is playing two characters one born of a

Emperor King Agust 'D who looks down on poor People that he wants to chop off
their heads off he became a Mad Emperor or King..😈👑
Started from the bottom now we are here
It's kinda like that for Suga aka Agust 'D.
It is one person. Suga is one of the fastest rappers in Korea. He started as an underground rapper before he joined BTS.
Konglish is the mix of Korean and English, and it’s common in Korean music.

12:25 of course he can rap, he was an underground rapper since school before debuted as idol tho
Agust D is Suga's name in reverse. Agust D = Suga DT. The DT comes from his home town of Daegu Town.
Did he just mentioned Anthony Ray!?! Anthony Anthonyrayder? Ayyy I’m living fr Anthony’s Bangtan (BTS) reaction! 😁Anyways 📣 I’m enjoying and loving this. Love the energy. Stay blessed 💜
AGUST D is the backward for his stage name SUGA

BTS is one of the most successful artists and the biggest band in the world.
They collaboratied with a lot of artists such as: Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Wale, Lauv, Fall Out Boy, Warren G,
Jason Derulo, Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Becky G, MAX, J.Cole,
Desiigner, Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, ...(+more)
The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalist) from South Korea.
They do not have a specific target audience - people of all age groups and genders listen to them.
BTS have a huge amount of songs as a group, and also each of them has their own solo stuff,
so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from.

It’s NOT kpop, IT’s BTS, together & individually will STUN YOU!
Like your reaction ❤
The song is amazing prefect🔥 the visual.. the story talen.. the lirick.. the beat.. the flow.. the everything awesome ..incredible .. suga is genius.. he got unique voice.. the best producer.. songwriter.. composer.. masterpiece.. multitalented.. fast rapper.. king swag.. king of stage.. love suga so much 🥰😍💜
Hey thanks for contributing .... getting KPOP over to the American side!
Good job! Love it! love BTS‼️
It’s the same guy . Love this man
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance.
They are the same personnn just Playing different rolessss concept it isssss❤️🔥❤️🔥💜❤️🔥💜❤️🔥💜
Loving your authentic and real reaction...Suga is a very talented rapper/producer. Thanks for reacting to Suga and to BTS.
When BTS first started out 10 years ago they wrote a song as teenagers called HIP HOP PHILE (HIP HOP LOVER). It is a homage to their influences. I think you would like this, there is no video so do a lyric video.💜
Agust D is a genius, excellent composer and producer
He killed the past slef of him (blonde hair , anger ) , and now his current self is free ( black hair , car , more clam )
Min Yoongi is Suga from BTS and his solo work is under AgustD (reverse of Dt for Daegu town his hometown, +Suga)
So AGUST D is SUGA D T backwards: AGUSTD = DTSUGA.

so if nobody told you AGUSTD IS also D TOWN SUGA.. d town is where he is from
Korean-English is referred to as Konglish I believe 😅 it’s the same guy, just dressed differently - it’s a metaphor for him rising above his old self to get better and grow. Like “out with the old, in with the new!”
Thank you! Agust D/Suga/Yoongi is spectacular! Borahae 💜🙏
The name August D
Stands for
Daegu Town
And
Shooting Guard
Because Suga played basketball he was a shooting guard for the basketball team he played for.
Dkdktv does a great job of telling you about this video and the meaning.
Another BTS rapper, J-Hope, just released a single with J. Cole. You might like to check that out also. All the rapper's solo work is fire.
Love Anthony Ray, too!
Yes sir, it's Suga from BTS.
Agust D
A gust
P.s Daetchwita is a traditional Korean song I believe it's played around royalty or when royalty comes to town. Like a matching song.
It's the same person, hun...
And he originally signed with the company to be a producer and then they wanted him to rap too...so you probably guessed it, he made the beat too
We love Anthony Ray!!! Been through his BTS journey.... Now here
I'm pretty sure your favorite bts member will be Suga.
BTS "Outro Tear live" the one with the black fits...should have captions on screen ...Just the three rappers
This goes so hard, i been underestimating BTS I just assumed they were cheesy love & pop songs 🤣🤣 now I’m obsessed, you gotta watch their CYPHERS🔥🔥
He wasn't talking about the app tiktok he was talking about a clock tic tok.
👋
If u like rap, I recommend u to reaction Bts rap line,
For MV : RM joke & still life, JHope arsone, suga agustd,

they're totally good👍
Anthony Ray is the biggest Army out there!! We love him…trust him
Fun fact: the gun he holds is named ARMY.
Yes it’s one person. Watch his behind the scenes and he gives you the storyline between the crazy king and switching to modern day.
I enjoyed your reaction, l will subscribe. More BTS please 🙏💜. Saludos desde España
I don't know if somebody already told you but when BTS members do solo stuff they pay all by themselves. MV include ! And then put out their music for free on SoundCloud ! 🤯
That's Suga wearing a wig, he's playing two characters lol
Great Blowing and Hitting
Daechwita (Korean: 대취타; lit.
