How I learned the hard way that using the built in diffuser on the Godox V860 mk 3 may not be a good idea if you are shooting at full power (1/1) say in manual mode.
I worked a wedding last night and this happened to both of my godox flashes. I’ve worked so many weddings and have never had this happen. One even began smoking and produced ash from the burnt plastic.
I think the lithium batteries are so fast in being ready for the next shot that the front of the flash gets really hot if you fire a series of shots. The design with the flip out diffuser probably worked well with less powerful batteries 🔋- just me guessing a bit 🙂
@@frederikboving So I checked with, Scandinavian Photo and thet said it was okay to go to the nearest store and let them look at it. Would take 4-6 week tho 😅

I have got the same issue too, not using 1/1 but 1/16 . Feels like a quality issue

Yeah had my changed the first time it happened, just after a couple of weeks. And now I see same issues. Can one return it to godox?
That's a good question! I have no idea but it would be great to hear from someone who's tried to return the flash for this reason! 👍
