I love the fuel tank man don't question your decision! Keeps the bike rooted to its heritage and its age also, good on you man, this has been a sweet build :)
Enjoyed the 7 day challenge. Bought a £50 CB 550 project a year ago. As you can imagine I have a lot to do and have found your videos really helpful. Many thanks.
Totally agree with you about patina on vintage motorcycle gas tanks. I have a very cool, weathered-look, original paint gas tank on my 1977 CB550F and I get compliments on it nearly everywhere I go (especially at gas stations). I really enjoyed watching this series. Great job on this bike! Makes me want to hunt down another CB550 project!
I really love your rebuild of the 550👍🏻. It looks and sounds amaizing. It’s an inspiration for and old, danish guy like me , seeing your vids to get my 1976 550 in better shape. THANK U ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏍
Personally, not a huge fan of the tank, but that doesn’t matter. When you build, you do it for yourself. If you’re happy than others should be happy for you. Great build.
Love all the episodes of this build! Made me feel as if I were there. Great job on a beautiful bike! Can't believe you built this entire bike in that amount of time and edited the video in the process!! Two thumbs up bro! Look forward to more content!
Your channel inspired me to start my own Cafe Racer project, a '78 Honda CB550, and this project by far is my favorite from all the builds so far. Well done, truly, well done
Watching this series again one year on. Even more impressed by that charming Taylor. Really hope the business goes well, doing what he loves, wish him all the post-corona luck in the world. Awesome videos, as ever.
Fantastic job on the build. You were 100% correct in selecting that tank. It definitely adds character to the bike. A one of a kind work of art. Well done.
My english is poor so please forgive me if I do mistakes, that ancient fuel tank simply rocks! it is look gorgeous on the bike and I think that keep or helps to maintain the original ADN of the bike, great job Taylor, greetings from Caracas, Venezuela.
dude, i love it. i'm with you on the patina thing. my first vehicle was a '53 chevy 3100 5 window i bought out of my uncle's cow pasture for $15, and fixed up. right now i have a '54 5600 5 window grain truck that sat next to a barn all of it's life with only 36,000 miles. i'm trying to decide exactly what to do with it, rat or restore, but a repaint is not in it's future.
You don’t even have to explain yourself man. The tank speaks for itself. I was hoping you would use it because it looks so good. It adds a lot of character. Love your choice.
Old time subscriber of yours here. Glad you kept the old tank, really gives the bikes it charm to be honest. And almost, you've really surpassed yourself on this project. It kinda reminds me of the brat project you did a while ago! Good job Taylor.
love the tank! keeping the original patina while adding the modern touches really gives it a great vintage look, while at the same time improving function. Really enjoying your channel!
Men what a machine, watched all 7 days. From the strip down we could predict that this will be nice project at the end but it ended way beyond oridinary. Wish u more of those great rebuilds. Stay cool man 😜
This is the first build I've watched you doing Taylor and I liked it, I would have preferred it if you built it all original but I respect your decision on what you've done, absolutely love the exhaust and muffler, lovely sound to it, will watch more of your video's .....👍🇬🇧
Wow, the bike came out great and looks amazing. One day I hope to build a CB750 cafe racer myself but my knowledge of motorcycles is very limited. The in depth explanations are super helpful, you earned my subscription
awesome job - just bought a '77 cb750 and will use this build as a guide to see if I can accomplish something similar in 7 months! ;-) really appreciate all the info.
Great build! It had to have been a tough slog to do it in a week, but it was the most interesting and fun to watch. That's saying a lot. Keeping the old tank unfinished wouldn't have been my choice, but I fully respect your nod to the awesomeness that is the CB500/550. I got one brand new in 1976 and I wish I'd never let it go.
Tank is perfect to me. Taylor your bikes always turn out amazing. Would love to have this one. Thanks for the quality content you put out for us do-it yourselfers
Watching these videos makes me wanna get an older Honda to work on and not bother with my XJ650 and just ride it. Looks to be so easy to get parts for these especially aftermarket. There's literally zero for the XJs
I’ve really enjoyed watching this build, the bike looks and sounds fantastic. The tank really suits the bike and that front tyre turned out to be a real happy accident. Well done mate 👍
Brilliant series of videos. Who needs TV. Bike looks ace. Pity im in UK or I might want it !! Only thing that spoils it for me is routing of clutch cable. It just does,nt look right and for me needs hiding away. Will it not go under the light out of view. I bought and rebuilt a 1976 Honda XL 250K3 with my son as first ever project in 2013/14. Loved doing it. Doubled its value as well. Some of your previous videos were very helpful with that. Cheers fella and keep up the good work.
Great job. I agree with your decision on the gas tank. Unique look and if I was the buyer I'd leave it as it is. Perfect retro tank, ( '75 cb ? ) . Congratulations. 👍
i’ve recently been looking for a cb but i was really concerned about the older functionality. your channel has really cleared a lot of things up for me! great videos.
Great Work Taylor! Love your channel and your decision to trade the corporate world for that of old CB's! Just want to let you know I saw a bit of oil on the left front fork leg. Not to point out an error, but if you have a leak seal you may want to know before selling ;) I know you would hate getting the bike back a few days after selling it.. Keep up the good work! I'll stay tuned in :)
Nice build Taylor, I like everything you have done, except for the indicator's, Go to Motone customs, get some lovely billet ones that go with the rear light. Gas / fuel tank looks cool, right decision, its unique. I would also fit a front fender/ mudguard, but that's a personal choice.
Dude, incredible work. Not just on the bike and build (although one week is insane) but as somebody who works in video production, I know the hassles and headaches of editing and uploading videos daily. Ha, do you sleep? I haven't taken on a full ground up build yet, but this channel is giving me more confidence in doing so. Thank you for creating and sharing!
Great series!! Enjoyed all the insights and comments on each session. Did a great job! Wish I had the time and resources you have at your disposal. Good luck in your new venture!! Cheers!
Absolutely we'll done. Love the tank and everything bout the build. Superb. Def bar end mirrors. Wish I was in USA - Would have instantly bought that. Look forward to he next one......?
Top job mate, love the patina on the fuel tank, there’s a z900 on johnnys vintage, called lucky chuck & that goes from metallic brown to green & it too looks great
The tank is awesome in doing somewhat the same with my Yamaha Rd 400 , frame off restoration even top n bottom end motor rebuild but I may leave the tank to show its age and 36 thousand kms
Loved the build it in a week bike build! Very well done as I know the amount of work that goes into a frame up rebuild. And I love the tank! Can’t wait for more builds like this.
I love the fuel tank man don't question your decision! Keeps the bike rooted to its heritage and its age also, good on you man, this has been a sweet build :)
The way that Honda brown color fades to green is really beautiful.
The tank patina rocks and really suits the era of the bike.
Maybe throw a coat of poly on the tank.
Thanks
@@frankleis2200 for what?
Taylor puts in the work ! five out of five
Please put together some kits of your specialized tools for us minions. I'm tired of using sub-par equipment. Thanks!
love the tank, the colors on their are amazing.
A true piece of art. And I agree about the gas tank. Everything else is so perfect... the gas tank says "classic".
Enjoyed the 7 day challenge. Bought a £50 CB 550 project a year ago. As you can imagine I have a lot to do and have found your videos really helpful. Many thanks.

Best motorcycle building channel on RUclips today! Great series
That's a win for me, especially the tank option which is perfect
Channelling Icon Derelict's aesthetic philosophy... no bad thing at all!
I LOVE the tank. It’s absolutely beautiful and I think you’re right on the money about the unique look it gives the bike.
Tank fits beautifully to the bike. Awesome built. Love your channel because you´re a good mechanic and a good designer.
Love the tank.
Love the sound of the exhaust !!!, Great job in 7 day's 👍👍
Love all the episodes of this build! Made me feel as if I were there. Great job on a beautiful bike! Can't believe you built this entire bike in that amount of time and edited the video in the process!! Two thumbs up bro! Look forward to more content!
Definitely my favorite CB550 thus far. Beauty.

Fuel tank is amazing. The entire build is more than successful. I enjoyed each minute of the series. Already excited about the next project.
Fuel tank really suits the bike. Awesome build. Stunning bike.

As a rider used to riding in UK rain I worry about the lack of front and rear mudguards. overall you've restored her beautifully.
Absolutely love the look. Hell of a job for being done in one week. Nice work.
Just bought a 72 cb500 today and you just helped me decide to keep the tank as is. Great looking bike.
That 04 Yellow Jacket was my favorite part of the series!
You don’t even have to explain yourself man. The tank speaks for itself. I was hoping you would use it because it looks so good. It adds a lot of character. Love your choice.

The tank really sets the bike off! Good call!
It’s your build, do what you want! It looks totally cool. Thank you for sharing your motorcycle wisdom and expertise, your vids are truly a blessing.
love the tank! keeping the original patina while adding the modern touches really gives it a great vintage look, while at the same time improving function. Really enjoying your channel!
Tank was a great choice. Love the old look and the color fading from green to brown.
your vision, for the bike is cool. love the tank
Just so you know if you get AT-205 , wintergreen oil and alcohol mixed together you can put it on old rubber carb gaskets it does great

Loved the 7 day build, that's a great looking bike and sounds mint...
Wow, the bike came out great and looks amazing. One day I hope to build a CB750 cafe racer myself but my knowledge of motorcycles is very limited. The in depth explanations are super helpful, you earned my subscription
