Jacques Pépin Makes a Mushroom Fish
Legend.
Love your channel Alex!
Alex how are you not verified
The interesting thing, is that he kind of accepted you as his pupil in a way, because of an omelette, I hope he challenges you further.
It's kind of one of those old shaolin chinese films from the 70's: "Prove yourself, young grasshopper."
Alex French Guy Cooking aleeeex 💓
alex pls teach us some useless skills aswell
Pepin: the difference between a chef who is on tv and a tv chef
And what's that
@@nopeno2350 one is on TV because hes a great chef, the other hosts a semi entertaining cooking show
What are you trying to say that Bobby flay competing with amatuer chefs in a pancake challenge isn't chef enough for you???? 😝
The greatest chef I ever worked for once told me, not many chefs are actual chefs
Exactly..
I saw him once in the NY subway....I love this guy. He represents my country better than anybody! Merci Jacques et longue vie!
Now here I was sitting thinking to myself he was going to show us a mushroom fish dish. Pleasantly suprised.
the true french legend
Jacques 80594, arthritis 0
Mr. K so is Raymond Blanc
Brad, Andy, Chris, and Claire popping on the background now and then. Love it.
He’s too good. I literally watched him mince an onion including cutting sideways while looking at someone else and having a conversation
well that is what every trained chef should be able to do ....
stevie wonder can do this
People focus too much on the hand that is doing the chopping and not what the other hand is doing, and what the blade is resting against.
Knife skill goals right there
I love his honesty, not only in his words but his mannerisms too.
I am the cook in the house, i have been watching pepin for years now. I even learned his way of chopping onion and garlic.. I cannot thank him enough for opening my eyes and taste buds to a whole new experience.
Thank you chef , for the wonderful videos you make
Such a skilled chef. Jacques Pépin for permanent place in Bon Appétit kitchen please!!
"and hide the mess that you did". you gotta love Jaques, man. gotta love him.
I have this recurring nightmare that the doorbell rings, I open the door, and it's Jacques Pépin who's coming to dinner.
It’s America’s favorite French grandpa. Definitely mine :)
Gotta love that guy. So lucky to have him share his knowledge with us.
Old school, when labour was cheap- his biography is fascinating. Learned this in culinary school. Never used it since...
Super ...super...love him...
He was not this laid back as a chef. Trust me, line cooks feared this man. I am so glad to see him at such a relaxed pace.
Heather Spoonheim I don't trust you.
Negan - I can't talk to you; I haven't watched season 7 yet.
You’re probably right, most of these famous chefs were like that. I guess you have to be to succeed in that world.
There is no thing as a laid back Chef in a commercial kitchen. They are all devil incarnate in that setting... goes with the job!
@@cartman42069If you worked in any professional kitchen, you will understand. The job of a chef is not to cook. It's to command the team. It's all about the control. How do you push out foods with consistency without installing strict quality control?
The man is a living Culinary Legend. So much culinary knowledge and technique he has a true master of his craft. He's no longer young obviousy but the knowledge he has is still unrivaled.
omg one of the gods in the kitchen world. this just popped up on my feed and I couldn't believe it.
Czr S You desperately need a life😂
Yeah, popped up on my feed also. I used to watch a lot of PBS TV on Saturday mornings. I'd suppose Google picked up on it🤔
He is so relaxing to watch .
My culinary hero!
Chef Vee any person that loves culinary arts should admire this man!
Frighteningly good.
A man who truly earned his fame through skill
when chefs get together they call him Boss
I love him. i watch him on create all the time
holy crap! Jacques Pépin is a legend, I had no idea he did anything with BA.
*Made a mess of my homework*
*Press a star in the middle*
a red star
This man showed me how to debone poultry in four cuts. He is a legend
YEAH MAN thinking about it it was so intimidating but he showed the way to do it only with hands it was so fun to do
He makes it look soooooooo easy!
I'm loving this series! We get to see some amazing techniques focused in one video. Thank you for this! :)
I love that guy
"Kids, stop playing with your food, it's not polite"
Not according to Jacques Pepin.
this is awesome, I love learning from Jaques. One of the absolute greats.
I think the BA test kitchen needs to invite Jacque Pépin as a regular. Or at least for the French cooking
I love this!! It’s good to peel off the skin of dirty dirty mushrooms.
The GOAT.
The ultimate best chef.
One of the original OG's
I love it Jacques, thanks 💕
I love this guy.
Well, I can predict that the mushrooms in my fridge are going to get messed up.
I don't even think I can do it. I just want to see how much I can screw this up.
How you did?
What the hell? I give up, I could never be one tenth this good.
I remember your place on Walnut street, Philly.
I want to hug him so badly
That's. One sharp paring knife...
It's not a paring knife, it's an X-acto knife. And yes, they are incredibly sharp.
His skill is intimidating!
He is why I became a chef
In case you didnt know.. he's talking directly to me. :)
he made it look so easy...
not gonna lie that filleted mushroom is absolutely gorgeous
If you leave the fish connected to the mushroom you just made yourself a sick mushroom stamp. A literal mushroom stamp
crafty and craftmanship
Loves Jacques at oceania cruises!
that looks easy I can definitely master this in a day 😂
Ankan Dhara hahaha .. fire comment
This guy is a legend
This is so pleasant...
💜💜💜💜
He's so cute
Did not understand a thing he said but my god, he is legendary.
I would toss the entire Bon Appetit crew out just for him
lmao Bon appetit is a joke compared to this man.
omfg this guy is amazing why have I never seen this before
I am excited to try this!
he looks like he could be acting in a remake of the notebook but make me cry like 6000 times as much as I did for Chris .... Chris whatever his last name is. not the Hemsworth one the other one.
BRADS HAT!
Maestro!
very underrated video
Love love love these videos with chef Pepin but can someone please tell me which exact John Boos cutting board is this? This is low key an amazing ad but there’s no product info... 😭
Jacques is an amazing teacher.
France had Paul Bocuse and United States has M. Pépin ! (Also french)
PogChamp
Kneeling before a legend...
I love how the kitchen gave him his own podium...respect.
It's totally useless. Love it
Art
Always deliteful
This man is an inspiration. Although, I'll never have the time to become a real chef...
this just destroyed how well I thought I was cooking
The problem with overlighting videos is then you can hardly see details on white foods.
Give a mushroom a fish and you feed it for a day. Teach it to fish, and you feed it for a lifetime.
plekkchand I do not recommend reading this sentence whilst high
@@isaac_k98 lol!
King
First time I learned something descent on bon appétit
El Presidenté If you only finished school, “decent”
Sanji from one piece would be a total fanboy about this.
Deja vu-culinary school knife skills class...
They ask some of these modern people what cookbooks they should have and they mention all these new people, the first name I have is Pepin's complete techniques
I tried this and ended up cutting my finger off.
This reminds me of my grandpa. He just to make a boat out of the fish head and bones when he was eating cod.
Give him a Michelin star for the love god did you see the fish he made in a mushroom should I say more? Give him the star
daRa I think he had 3
A MA Z I N G
really want this song, anyone know what it is?
Classy
lol
You can also use the mushroom fish as a stamp, I guess? Though I'd rather waste a potato on that.
GOAT
i thought it was a garlic from the thumbnail
But how does the mushroom hold the rod?
Looks like mini siopao!
I would do mushrooms with him; It might make me open myh mind about the french.
PEPIN MY BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL *_B O Y_*
i dont know what i was supposed to learn
Sayed grammar, for one
like that mistake hide 😜
What did I just watch...
Music is way too loud!
