I started my Orks army in 9e and went with mostly the new “Beast Snagga” units, so I’m eager to use Da Big Hunt detachment. I just wish I knew how much the revised Squighog Boyz squads cost now that the Nob on Squig is folded into the squad instead of being a character to lead the squad. I presume the Squighog squad will cost at least 30 points more. I’m also happy the Mozrod Skragbad can finally lead Squighog Boyz squads - it never made sense why he couldn’t before. The only problem with the 10e Orks codex is that Green Tide apparently only uses Boyz, instead of other units with Boyz in their name. For example, I own 40 Beast Snagga Boyz and 12 Squighog Boyz, but they’re not supported by Green Tide. I’m certain my friends, one of whom has an Orks army, will be fine letting me proxy my Beast Snagga Boyz in Green Tide for our casual games, but I’d have to buy A LOT of Boyz if I wanted to play Green Tide competitively.
I the exact same position lmao Looking forward to Da Big Hunt, despite what that internet's been saying about it being underwhelming compared to some of the others *cough dread mob cough* What nobody considers is the sheer comedic value of every ork in the army suddenly all turning their heads at once to start running down a random car on the other side of the field
@@mrlazarus6778 Agreed! I played it (without points updated obviously) to get used to it beforehand with a friend of mine and let me tell you naming belakor and running across the entire map just to clap his cheeks was pretty damn funny. Never seen a player castle so hard
You can bulk out your horde list very easily with Assault on Black Reach sets (20 monopose orks is not that noticable when you have 100+ of them, also fairly easy to get them on the cheap second-hand) Also, characters are fairly easy to kitbash from Age of Sigmar orks once you gather enough bitz n gubbinz
I'm making my first 2000pt list right now. I had the regular boyz combat patrol and the kommandos already, and am going full bully boyz heavy on the mrganobz. I just really like the aesthetic, more than the killa kanz. Things have been really fun to paint, which is somewhat uncharted territory for me. Thanks for the vids.
One thing to think of is that colors each can mean something to orks and there’s lots of glyphs that also mean certain things. You’ll get lots of extra cred from older war bosses and nobz for using them
Hi, I really appreciate your videos, since I am just getting into the orki game I would love little 1000 list ideas for detachment possibly. Thanks and keep up the good work 💪👍
@@TheWanderandom Nice idea thanks, I however count 20 snagga 210pt Beastboss 80pt 4 squig 150pt, x2 880 I have these points in the codex, did I miss something?
I was using the points costs from the app, I'm sure we'll get more clarity when the actual points drop. Still, it's a solid starting place and the beast snagga detachment can be top tier if played correctly
I do like the silly, comedy relief style of Orks - but if they were a bit more serious and terrifying, I'd probably consider them more. The Beast Snaggas tend to be a little more serious, which is probably why they're my favorite. The Beast Snagga Warboss looks so cool. I kinda just want to paint one.
I only buy value boxes and there where some grest for orks. So this is my cheapest 2k army for around 300€. Good that they have a funny codex looking forward to finish painting and playing them.
I don't know either. I greatly enjoy them and I want to make an entire themed list with them. I can't quite figure out where all the hate comes from for them.
The kill rig is fantastic. That's actually part of the problem. For a while it was an auto include of 2 in every list. 3 in some. It, and the large blocks of squigs that are hard to remove, fast, and shred things like Paper. Are what got squigs nerfed. So sad
I hate the Snaggaz for the simple fact "If I wanted to play Savage Orks, I'd play them in AoS." I want my Orks to be the rowdy bunch they're meant to be, not monster hunters that belong in high fantasy
The old oak boyz box is so much better than the newer ones. The new sculpts are very nice, but the pose-ability of the old kit is so dynamic. You can turn their heads, waists and shoulders in all sorts of ways, only having to cut the shoulder to flare the arms out a bit. Also, works can loot anything - so every model is an oak model!
question for ork players, how is the building experience for the army, I was considering the stompa box as a start buy heard the construction is horrible
I've heard the same but at the end of the day it's a single model you probably only need to build once. So struggle with it if it sucks and then it's done and you'll never have to do it again. Lol
Haven’t built the stompa but never had trouble with beast snagga boys or regular boyz, kill rig will require some sanding/filing to get some certain pieces to fit properly, squighog boys are really annoying when you get to the grots that hang off the back where you have to glue a top heavy axe to a toothpick sized arm. Most of the characters are easy but I recommend that you paint Zodgrob before assembling, if you include him
I already had Assault on black reach and the boarding patrol. I've added to it with the now discontinued combat patrol and the stompa boyz battleforce.
There is no sneaky detachment, but war horde is the generalist one. You can't really field enough kommandos to justify a whole detachment; Snikrot and 30 kommandos is under 500 points. Honestly they've got enough tricks on the datasheets so it feels fine with a combined arms / nobz swat team army.
@@chetmanley1885 oh I see, thanks for the clarification. My first Ork box was the boarding patrol, my second the stompa boyz box. I like the blood axes and try to Figur out what a fun theme list is. I don’t care much for competitiveness.
@@severintwas a fellow Blood Axe enjoyer. I'd say stick with War Horde (index rules) as it's quite flexible and allows you to play around with a wide range of units to see what you like using. I like a lot of different stuff, and even Squighogs have a place in Blood Axes (there's a unit called the Squigback Raiderz that breed camo pattern hogs) if using that unit is the right taktik. The most important thing for any Ork player though is to have fun. Be that collecting, building painting or playing.
Orks I have been eyeing as a second army for a long time. I kinda want an all Squig list. Think like a squig meetup, you ain’t got a squig? You ain’t allowed in.
Blood axes da bestest boyz! Da uva boyz ain't smart enuff to uz our 'taktiks'. I miss when blood axe had the army trait of when they used a stratagem, they had a chance to not use any CP.
A friend of mine gave me a box and i forgot i had some orkz. Then i put in the squads in Battlescribe and found the point list to be 450 points. I want Gaz and a melee based army. But i dont really like the old Orkz with their gorrila style body. I love the new stuff more.
Honestly you need at least one proxy in any orc army Just the most random model you can get your hands on in a unit of boyz Cause “it’s definitely an ork see all the boys thinks so”
Hey! Do you have or can you make videos about sinergies or funy combos with orks? Im neebie and want to try to create an orks army but im not sure about what i can combien to forrm a cool army :D
You have a bit of everything there, but I'd either focus on the green tide to optimize the boyz, or perhaps even use the Kult of Speed detachment simply for the Mega Nobz. Make one into a Big Mek in Mega Armour, and then lead the 5 others in a unit in a Trukk, drive it up to your enemies, and use the Assault Ramp Strategem in the Kult of Speed detachment to get the Mega Nobz in their faces fast. Maybe get a Shokkjump Dragsta or two for some easy secondaries since they can teleport to where you need them (Keep them safe in the backlines until you need to teleport to a specific objective location, such as Deploy Teleport Homers etc).
I have been playing Orks since 9th edition, and while I occasionally try other armies, the Orks have the most fun play style, characters and units. They are great to paint, build and kitbash. Waagh!!!
im a dabbler i admit in this game, but im extremely disappointed with 10th edition so far, namely because of two things. One, Dakka has been pretty much removed as a mechanic. Two, still no badmoon support. Badmoons are my favorite faction within the orks because they are unapologetic gun crazy, teef crazy maniacs. But there are no hero characters for them. There are no real Badmoon focused models aside from Flashgitz and Lootahs. They even made my favorite dakka model legends, (though not specifically badmoons im still mad) The super grot megatank i believe is the name. I looked into the current ruleset and they do have the button as kind of a similar thing, but there are no characters that actually work with walkers like you would want for leadership synergies. Meks can't lead walkers and other vehicles? The only vehicle they can lead is artillery? They need to do better or add more choices.
Is there Any reason to buy the new boyz (cost 55$) instead of the old boyz (cost 45$)? You get to fully customize the old boyz ; as for the new boyz, you're forced to have with 3 shoota boyz, a Nobz and a heavy weapons boyz.
Not really unless you like how they look. I bought a combat patrol that has 20 of the new ones and got one box of old boys to fill in the blanks to have 20 choppas and 10 shootas.
@@crudgamers2672 I see, this is quite the sales strategy here. News players will buy combat patrol and get the new boyz, then realised that diluting ork boy's loadout is no good, and then they'll have to buy the old boyz to fill out the new boyz squad But then again, as everyone here already says: it never hurts to get more ork boyz
When it comes to Orks, a chunk of the value in a box comes from the extra bits that can be used for kit bashing. Not much left over from mono pose boxes
You know, the thing about the WAAAGH being called at the start of the battle round because the defensive buff wouldn't work nicely otherwise makes me think that our burst damage buff really shouldn't be tied together with that burst durability buff. I mean, I applauded the change in 9th because we needed a buff, but that was a quick-fix and should have been reworked since. Maybe with something akin to green tides mob mentality for the infantry and maybe a buffed Ramshackle for the Vehicles... But God forbid people have to learn more than one rule for an army.
I originally started the hobby with buying just anough for a 2000 point list, yeah 6-7 months into the hobby Im hovering around 4000, bought ghaz and thinking of getting a stompa to push me over 5000 ... orks iz da best!
Anyone point me in the direction of a video where someone discusses the pros and cons of GW reently 'getting rid' of the ork subfaction rules in this latest edition, I am referring to the 'Evil Sunz', 'Goffs', 'Snakebites', 'Bad Moons', 'Flashgitz' etc. I understand why they maybe dropped sub faction specific rules i.e. to get rid of rules complexity and to create an all inclusive ork 'bucket of rules' but I feel at the cost of immersion for your particular sub faction; what I'm saying is that which 10th edition Ork 'Detachment Rules' would pertain to say, the 'Bad Moons' who are traditionally a very pro 'shooty' Ork 'sub facion'........?
Dread Mob is clearly the shortest, full reviews of the rules have been out for just over a week so I'd look at those to see what fits your army/play style best.
@@chetmanley1885 But I think that 'Dread Mob' rule is only for shooty Meks, Killa Kans / Deff Dreads (Ork Warlkers ?) and Grot Vehicles (strange one that one) not for your boots on the ground Bad Moons 'Ork Moons' with shootaz or big shootaz, so Bad Moons Boyz shoot like any old Ork from any old Ork 'Sub Faction' (I think).
@@RolandoRatas i believe the dreadmob rules also include units that have a Mek or Big Mekk attached to them so there is that. (unless i have read those rules wrong)
@@scrubgrunt5105 oh brilliant, you are absolutely correct with that and it makes me happy for the Bad Moons. It's actually any Ork unit that 'can have the leader as a Mek' of that unit so the Mek can be the unit leader of say Ork Boyz, Lootas, Nobz and even Mek Guns (and possibly even Tankbustas - not sure about that one). Goonhammer has a great review in text on their website about all of this. I'm happy thanks, going to buy this codes soon.
Actually if you walk into a shop and just yell waaaaagh long enough you attract every ork player in a 50 mile radius. Then you smash thoses who oppose you and you will have all the models you need
Buy yourself a Mr. Potato head and get glueing. Or one of them plastic easter eggs? Or a plastic chocolate box? Idk I probably actually check the dimensions first tbh.

Beastbodd could lead b4, but I think it had the aura instead of a lead bonus
Felt
I the exact same position lmao
Looking forward to Da Big Hunt, despite what that internet's been saying about it being underwhelming compared to some of the others *cough dread mob cough*
What nobody considers is the sheer comedic value of every ork in the army suddenly all turning their heads at once to start running down a random car on the other side of the field
@@mrlazarus6778 Agreed! I played it (without points updated obviously) to get used to it beforehand with a friend of mine and let me tell you naming belakor and running across the entire map just to clap his cheeks was pretty damn funny. Never seen a player castle so hard
You can bulk out your horde list very easily with Assault on Black Reach sets (20 monopose orks is not that noticable when you have 100+ of them, also fairly easy to get them on the cheap second-hand)
Also, characters are fairly easy to kitbash from Age of Sigmar orks once you gather enough bitz n gubbinz
I like the industrial grunge aesthetics of the big meks and vehicles. Sets them apart from Age of Sgmar.
Nothing better than kitbashing a good Ork. There's no wrong answers, and they've already forgotten what the question was
Thanks for this! my friend's havubg a hard time getting into his ork army
Orks is da biggest an' da strongest!
Green icon checks out, you are a valid ork.
I heard that in ork voice 😂
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Thanks and keep up the good work 💪👍
2 beast snagga combat patrols put it at 990 and is actually quite a scary force
I kinda just want to paint one.
we gots a gun that teleports crazed screaming snotlings into your insides until you explode, find me somefink dat's more terrifying dan dat!
step 1. Consult Personality Matrix
step 2. look in local trash can or Dumpster for 10 000 pts or more + ork fleet
step 3. Enjoy
I only buy value boxes and there where some grest for orks. So this is my cheapest 2k army for around 300€. Good that they have a funny codex looking forward to finish painting and playing them.
Heres to hoping the kill rig ive been building for 3 days is solid in the new codex.
I dunno why everyone has so much hate for the snaggaz 😢
It hasn't changed, it's a fine unit
Is the orks battlewagon any good in 10th, I'm thinking of running one.
Why start an orks army: Orkz is best! WAAAGH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Orks honest. Orks never lie.
Well there is one case where they have been not so honest
Gork at least 😅
The old oak boyz box is so much better than the newer ones. The new sculpts are very nice, but the pose-ability of the old kit is so dynamic. You can turn their heads, waists and shoulders in all sorts of ways, only having to cut the shoulder to flare the arms out a bit. Also, works can loot anything - so every model is an oak model!
Just a tip; provide the a’s in Waaagh like the one in ‘war’ ;) that’s the proper orkish ‘nunciation
question for ork players, how is the building experience for the army, I was considering the stompa box as a start buy heard the construction is horrible
I've heard the same but at the end of the day it's a single model you probably only need to build once. So struggle with it if it sucks and then it's done and you'll never have to do it again. Lol
The stompa isn't that bad, it's the instructions that let the kit down but you can figure it out.
Most of the characters are easy but I recommend that you paint Zodgrob before assembling, if you include him
There ain't no army like a starting Ork army 'cause a starting Ork army don't stop
Keep thinking to myself, Black Templars look really cool I should get some… then I buy more Orks.
Remember, every set is an Ork set
I wonder if we will ever get krok models i guess maybe if the Orks are the poster boys of the next edition have some lore how they are evolving again
I already had Assault on black reach and the boarding patrol. I've added to it with the now discontinued combat patrol and the stompa boyz battleforce.
What is the sneaky detachment for Boss Snikrot, his Kommandos and the Blood Axes in general?
There is no sneaky detachment, but war horde is the generalist one. You can't really field enough kommandos to justify a whole detachment; Snikrot and 30 kommandos is under 500 points.
Honestly they've got enough tricks on the datasheets so it feels fine with a combined arms / nobz swat team army.
none. Sadly. Snikrot became lone operative, sooo he gets to show up in any list really.
@@chetmanley1885 oh I see, thanks for the clarification. My first Ork box was the boarding patrol, my second the stompa boyz box. I like the blood axes and try to Figur out what a fun theme list is. I don’t care much for competitiveness.
@@swheen lucky me Auspex just posted a video on this topic. So I can find out what that means.
Be that collecting, building painting or playing.
is it me? it would Capn Crunch be a perfect foil for Quins?
Orks I have been eyeing as a second army for a long time. I kinda want an all Squig list.
Think like a squig meetup, you ain’t got a squig? You ain’t allowed in.
My LGS still has 1 CPbox from 8th edition. With the dread and 3 deffkoptas
Love me some Orks
Blood axes da bestest boyz! Da uva boyz ain't smart enuff to uz our 'taktiks'.
I miss when blood axe had the army trait of when they used a stratagem, they had a chance to not use any CP.
A friend of mine gave me a box and i forgot i had some orkz. Then i put in the squads in Battlescribe and found the point list to be 450 points. I want Gaz and a melee based army. But i dont really like the old Orkz with their gorrila style body. I love the new stuff more.
Waylaid games also do a good discount in the UK.
'ERE WE GO 'ERE WE GO 'ERE WE GO 'ERE WE GO 'ERE WE GO 'ERE WE GO
Already started
Honestly you need at least one proxy in any orc army
Just the most random model you can get your hands on in a unit of boyz
Cause “it’s definitely an ork see all the boys thinks so”
An entire battle line of “Boyz”, which are just Space Marines with Ork heads glued on.
You can make your own stompa using old pots and pans. 800pts for 10 mins of work and half a tube of glue is a good investment.
How do we still not have new multi part boys?
Hey! Do you have or can you make videos about sinergies or funy combos with orks? Im neebie and want to try to create an orks army but im not sure about what i can combien to forrm a cool army :D
Been collecting on and off since 4th ed. Only ay 7-8k points. Having storage issues as it is def a horde
You dont buy orks, the orks buy you
So far I have the old patrol, box of Gretchen, 2 boxes of meganobz, and a truck coming. Any recommendations? Also, WAAAAGH!
Could you do some videos about the chaos demons?
I hope you all like kitbashing
Just kitbashed some Meganobz from CSM terminators. Why pay the same price for 3 models when I can have 5 that end up looking way cooler.
The new ork boyz models look amazing, absolutely hated the old boyz models and how fiddly the parts were.
I have been playing Orks since 9th edition, and while I occasionally try other armies, the Orks have the most fun play style, characters and units. They are great to paint, build and kitbash. Waagh!!!
How ta play orkz:
1. Buy a gorkanaut
2. Buy sum meganobz
3. Bigges’ iz best!
im a dabbler i admit in this game, but im extremely disappointed with 10th edition so far, namely because of two things.
News players will buy combat patrol and get the new boyz, then realised that diluting ork boy's loadout is no good, and then they'll have to buy the old boyz to fill out the new boyz squad
But then again, as everyone here already says: it never hurts to get more ork boyz
When it comes to Orks, a chunk of the value in a box comes from the extra bits that can be used for kit bashing. Not much left over from mono pose boxes
Worth pointing out the Ork community is the most supportive for new players. Or at least i found it so.
I wish I had started at Orks, but I have loathe painting flesh/skin (or in this case, a composition of flesh-like spores). Still, Orks are the best
"orkz orkz orkz orkz orkz"
Still waiting for plastic grot tanks
I originally started the hobby with buying just anough for a 2000 point list, yeah 6-7 months into the hobby Im hovering around 4000, bought ghaz and thinking of getting a stompa to push me over 5000 ... orks iz da best!
Let’s get stuck innn
it feels weird being the 1000th like of this video
Dreadmob is pretty much badmoons right?
Or deffskullz depending on the view
Gutted I couldn't get the Ork battleforce last weekend, the stompa is one of the coolest and dumbest models I've ever seen
Buy yourself a Mr. Potato head and get glueing.
Or one of them plastic easter eggs?
Or a plastic chocolate box?
Idk I probably actually check the dimensions first tbh.
run 2 stompas, 132 grots+Runtherd and 1 mek, easy army

Sadly as soon as it arrived i had a financial emergency and immediately flipped it 3 days later for 650 😂

Why can’t I just collect what I want and play…
nobody is stopping you however rules exist for a reason.
That's what War Horde is, use whatever it'll work.
I have an Ork army with about 1,700 points I spent over $630
