For us, having the house, land and all of our projects here is what is important and it's our priority. We have a Class A motorhome that is phenomenal in every aspect, but we see it as a luxury and secondary to our actual home life. I really dig it when you say that you want to be fair and make Donald happy. Especially after doing the number of years in the military and retiring. But there is no true happiness unless you're both happy. We are retired military too, and we love being on the road! We often go to Virginia Beach VA and stay at Dam Neck (on the beach) and we love it! It's our true get away among other places. I think that you are doing the right thing by being on the road as much as you are now, you'll find your dream home and keeping your rig will ensure that you are able to get out on the road when you want to. We get on the road at random time primarily when we want to and we are extremely happy when we do. By the way, you both are great, I love seeing your posts!

Pegi, I could tell you were missing your home spot. Don’t you feel no type of way, about that. You have done the thang, adventures abound, but there is a place for that. You don’t have to give it up completely, a few excursions a year is mandatory. Having a home filled with our choices of decor , Christmas trees everywhere is what we do girl!!!! I’m proud of you for going out there with Don , that’s what love looks like.

If you plan on coming back to any of these campgrounds it would be good to keep a journal by name and write any thoughts you have about it, like what spots are good, is the wifi good, are the amenities good. You will get them all mixed up the more you visit. Then you'll have your reference to look back and refresh your memory!
Life is short do whatever makes you happy . Don't mind the haters that want to tell you how to spend your money. If you want to buy ice and fry it so be it. Stay safe and be careful.

I love a good beach. I have to agree with you, there is no place like home. You have the house and Don has the travel trailer. This way you have the best of both worlds and hit the highway/travel when the travel bug hits y’all. This way you won’t need to upgrade the travel trailer. Your upgrade can be the house. I love the aspect of being able to enjoy different parts of the country without committing to 1 certain area. You can find where you are most comfortable, weather, community etc.

You both would probably enjoy living in St Augustine FL vs. Savannah GA with all the paper mills and pulp mills in and around Savannah. St Augustine is about 30 minutes South of Jacksonville. Take a day trip before you leave the area! The weekends use to be jumping back in the day with visitors but the day-to-day living is quiet and laid-back!
I totally agree Pegi. My cart is full with things that I need. I buy a few things per month. That helps me budget and I get familiar with the things so that I know how to use the things I need. Thank you for the advice and blessings on you all adventures.

FYI, our house is at the same price today as it was when the 2008 crash happened. Housing prices may be getting ready to drop in a bit before too long. Sellers market right now, you are smart to do the traveling now.

Awesome beach trip. I'm much more afraid of everything than you Pegi. Hip high in the ocean had me thinking of sharks and darn it that man caught one while fishing. But, I'm putting on my big girl undies and heading to the beach soon. Dr Bronners Peppermint soap and eucalyptus leaves are an awesome aid in deterring flying insects.
We were at Myrtle Beach for Memorial day and the storm blew in on us! We love watching from our deck & sliding glass door. Our house is across the street from the beach and the water was so angry!!! Our grandkids love going to the beach with us and they love going off in the RV. We haven't been in a couple yrs because of COVID and their mom filed for divorce. It's been almost 1 1/2 yrs and is now final. It makes me sad and I hate she can be difficult, spite mostly and the kids love going with us. She thinks she is getting back at us but it's the kids that she is hurting. I'm so happy you are having a great time. I do think after you go and see all you want to see or maybe go out west where there is a LOT to see, that staying in a spot for a month or so is a good idea and it's cheaper to stay a month vs a week. I'd love to see you in a 5th wheel. We have a Class A and I would live in it, if it was just me. I have a small place for my crafts but I would need a lot more space. I don't even have that in our beach house! LOL Our oldest son is coming out here June 30th. They live in Oregon. We will tour Charleston & Savannah for 2 weeks before they head home. He just found out that he has bladder cancer and is having surgery this Friday. When we get these kids back to school in August, we may plan a trip to go out there and visit a week. It's been 4 yrs since we have been out there. I love watching your travels. Ours have been on hold a while. HUGS~Donna
So happy to see you got an Beach umbrella...I always pack a small cooler with ice and drinks I so loved the Florida Beaches they are a lot cleaner than California...next time bring snacks and get comfy

Pegi, if you can find the square egg crate matress tops they use at the nursing homes and not the memory foam, then you will love your bed and it won't add the weight of a real mattress. Get 2 and put them on top of each other. The Best!

I have been using that soap for years. Love it. There is Eucalyptus in that brand soap also.

That would be a great compromise. Best of both worlds. That’s my favorite soap. I use either that or one with tea tree oil in it.
