Carbs are not necessary for building muscle, they are the only nonessential macronutrient, and protein and fats are more calorie dense if you keep carbs at a minimum. This is the entire basic premise behind a ketogenic or carnivore diet.

This is awesome. Right off the bat your talking about mini bulks/cuts. This is something ive instinctively figured out with my fasting journey and something imma begin playing with. Essentially looking to employ that insane HGH spike when 2-3+ days fasting where you don't lose any muscle as long as your walking (For me any walking is Rucking since im so big and just bought a backpack hwere imma start actually Rucking as im 3lbs away from 100lbs lost total so far so gonna start rucking w/ that 100lbs ive lost) I kinda figured this out having organic Binges, what I call "fat boy emo moments" then I would fast after to get back on track and ive realized an INSANE response from my body. Ive also hit my PRs over 48hrs fasted. It's insane. However, I also had a 3 day fast where i did NOT get stronger, stayed roughly the same w/ little less energy and ironically this was w/o a surplus/"binge" for few days prior. ive done 3 total extended fasts since I started my 250lbs journey last November. #1 and #2 had this insane effect where my metabolism went beserk (Sweating way more) and also got stronger while 48+hrs fasted. #3, the last one I did, I didn't have this effect and I FELT like I was fasting and got weaker as I expected PLUS I had .04 ketones 72hrs Fasted!! I still have no idea how....This is where I wish I could talk to someone like you as thats something I think is a good thing? as in i'm efficiently manufacturing/using ketones and theres not a bunch of waste ketones in my blood? Anyways, I'm loving the process of exploring all this and just doing what feels right and applying all ive learned into my own thing and being my own science experiment/study . I definitely can get side tracked and a side effect of this approach is I don't just grind what I knows 100% works and play with stuff, but for now it's working and im having hella fun. Idk if you read these messages, but I don't make them for attention seeking, I mean when i say I learned 80+% all my knowledge from fasting/keto from you and dr. Berg. Thank you for the vids Thomas =D But I really think theres something like a steroidal effect w/ fasting and muscle building when combined w/ properly timed surplus feeding and a more calories in/calories out on a WEEKLY and MONTHLY basis vs a daily basis.
You guys are all jealous with the hate comments. If you get all your vitamins in from food.. and you occasionally fast. You can fix or correct blood sugar issues, even from eating carbs and fat together. Insulin sensitivity is important even for steroid use, IGF-1 insulin-like growth factor. You could eat low carb for a few days, and then fast on the days after you over eat. By starting the day with real carnivore/keto style can help with digestion. It’s all about stimulating and changing things up. Take fish oil, creatine, get enough protein in 3 days. Don’t try to focus all on it in one day. You could eat 3 pounds of beef for breakfast. And take 3 hours to eat it, if you wait hours before consuming carbs, even without fat adaptation on a standard American diet, you could digest more fat and meat, and still be in ketosis from eating. Plus with green tea, coffee, and fasting.
If you want to consume carbs in small amounts, or low carb options on other days. Example eat pumpkin at the end of the day and raspberries with cinnamon and whey protein. If you do this before bed there is pectin in the pumpkin, if you had this with yogurt. Prebiotic probiotic effect. You can also consume more fat a few hours later with a little bit of pumpkin, and other fibers( seaweed, chia, avocado). You become more fat adapted in your sleep. Those with “keto flu” need to just consume more protein to be full, don’t go for most keto snacks if at all, and take minerals. Don’t be afraid of magnesium, salt, msm, boron, NAC, calcium.
@@Marco-cl9pbI hear you, the difference is that everyone’s body is unique and constantly changing/adapting. Fasting can follow any diet, timing is the only restriction, and you can change the time based on the day and how you are feeling.
The main goal is once or twice a week. If protein is just added for breakfast it stimulates digestion, and if you eat it first you can get it out of the way. Lots of elderly, injured people, and even young people with deficiencies and physical/mental health could at least benefit from changing the order of how they eat their food. I’m not saying to be a health nut, just individual tolerance to certain foods and lifestyle habit changes can fix most issues without needing pills, surgery, or a crazy diet with restrictions and deficiencies.
I am surprised by the one/two day cut. It seams to me that would just maybe drop/gain muscle glycogen and water. I don't pay much heed to the scale for the first week going in or out of a cut.

(Although not recently as I currently have pneumonia, and had a pacemaker installed in May. I'm 64.) Could a high level of body fat, and Estrodial be prevented me from gaining more muscle? My protein intake is very good.
Keep on it 4 months. Make sure u lift to failure at sets of 5 to 30 reps. Do each muscle group twice a week (four times is better if it’s not ur first year lifting). I lift 7 times a week when not traveling for every muscle group, but I think I recover faster than most..,
hi. i got a question. about meat/ protein. is it really true that you can't get fat from protein? because I ate only meat for three months and I lost 32 kg and I was 105 kg yeah I know I was really fat and I read something about gluconeogenesis long time ago I read about this that protein can't make you fat. because if you have too much protein a process called glucose Genesis begins. is this true? cuz i really ate aloooot of chicken breasts only. and i really couldn seem to gain weight. i actually got really lean kinda like dried up. my face and my whole body wasnt bloated anymore. now i got a interestingly nice defined face😅

Unflavored creatinine powder is h harsh not bad in pre work out
this is exactly what I said the other day I'm at a point now where I can choose to bulk up put the weight on trying to build good size or mini bulk then mini cut over and over again to try to pack it on with out putting the fat on now with me I have no issue removing the fat after the fact if I do put it on never an issue done it over and over again its just a hard decision for me do I want to eat in a bigger surplus and enjoy a bigger diet or do I keep it smaller a lot of ppl tend to want to treat them self's by putting it on giving them self's a reprieve from the diet for me its a way of life so not a diet it self :P just a thought i had anyways
HOW TO ELIMINATE WATER 💦 RETENTION after the bulk season??? (Creatine increase)
Would you have all 6 grams together or split over the day.
Berg. Thank you for the vids Thomas =D But I really think theres something like a steroidal effect w/ fasting and muscle building when combined w/ properly timed surplus feeding and a more calories in/calories out on a WEEKLY and MONTHLY basis vs a daily basis.

oral bpc-157 has some notable side effects e.g mood/anhedonia; injectable seems fine though
Don’t be afraid of magnesium, salt, msm, boron, NAC, calcium.
fasting sounds like a religion more and more
@@Marco-cl9pbI hear you, the difference is that everyone’s body is unique and constantly changing/adapting.
Been looking for BPC157 forever. Dr. playa dumb and says she never heard of it. Where can I get it?
I'm using Bpc157 from Swisschems for my shoulder injury. They both offer capsule and the injectables.
I love your videos but they are way too long. Can you cut them down to half the length?
No
Also get your creatinine levels checked with your bloodwork

Thomas I like your channel but your thumbnails are often misleading. There is no mention of the products shown in the thumbnail - the yogurt and protein drink? Why do you keep doing this?
Because I talk about protein…..

I've been on Dr. Prescribed TRT (Testosterone Cypionate) for a while (my natural T levels were 28 ng/dl) and my current Total Testosterone level is at 1081 ng/dl, yet I can't seem to build much muscle even though I train rather intensely 4-5 days per week. (Although not recently as I currently have pneumonia, and had a pacemaker installed in May. I'm 64.)
Could a high level of body fat, and Estrodial be prevented me from gaining more muscle? My protein intake is very good.
Keep on it 4 months. Make sure u lift to failure at sets of 5 to 30 reps. Do each muscle group twice a week (four times is better if it’s not ur first year lifting). I lift 7 times a week when not traveling for every muscle group, but I think I recover faster than most..,
@LinusWilson Thanks. Been on TRT for about 10 years.

What happens to the face when you take creatine? :)
Where do we find a doctor who knows about BPC157

Wow, didn’t expect Thomas to say, “my girlfriend yells at me every time I shave my cat in the kitchen sink” in this video 😂😂😂
You aren't gaining 10 in that time frame naturally unless you're a complete noob. And we all know you know the right "supplements" you would use. 👌

Who did you hit with your backpack?
Do you have shoulders??
10lbs of lean mass in 2 months isn't possible for someone who's been lifting for years
I'm not trying to be snarky here I legitimately want to know the difference here between carbohydrate powder and table sugar?
I know! What is this new animal on the block? Carbohydrate powder😂😂😂 next we will be eating water powder
@Governemntistheproblem hydrating fluid powder, just add water.
This might only be possible to achieve for just only a very few percentage of men who are new to weight-lifting.
Zone 2 is like 130-150 bpm for most people, how are you getting your heart rate all the way up there with rucking?
The weight added causes higher effort from the body and thus higher HR.

I want to burn fat and build muscle at the same time, is it possible?
hi. i got a question. about meat/ protein. is it really true that you can't get fat from protein? because I ate only meat for three months and I lost 32 kg and I was 105 kg yeah I know I was really fat and I read something about gluconeogenesis long time ago I read about this that protein can't make you fat. because if you have too much protein a process called glucose Genesis begins. is this true? cuz i really ate aloooot of chicken breasts only. and i really couldn seem to gain weight. i actually got really lean kinda like dried up. my face and my whole body wasnt bloated anymore. now i got a interestingly nice defined face😅
by the way every1 thought i had hiv or cancer or something 😂 cuz it all went so fast
and my sweet tooth is gone. completely
I do 20,000 calories Monday then fast all week. I have -99% BF and deadlift 1200 lbs
I have TMG, it smells rancid. Is that normal ?
What about a digestive enzyme to help with that much protein?
Bromelain
Anabolics?

But for a newbie it’s possible maybe?
It is. I teach it all day.
Nobody gains 10 pounds of muscle in a few months, nobody. 10 pounds in a couple months are steroid gains. In fact, it’s almost impossible to gain 5 pounds of muscle in that time
*I am a long time subscriber man but is about time you come clean with your audience about your stack, many clueless people will aspire to be like you but have no idea that is not possible*
Dude. I’m not on anything. Not even on the peptides anymore. Also just got my blood work back with testosterone at 371. Healthy, normal range with LSH at 3.7 and FSH at 4.1
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficialThis! People have expectations to be at 700-900, which is just not the case. That much sustained test would cause even the heart to grow as its the one muscle which gets the most exercise 24/7.
Having said that, a short regimen can help leapfrog months and years as long as sides are managed, much of the gains can be maintained with exercise and nutrition.
@@aniketk7401 I was sitting at 700 testosterone at age 51.
@@daniel-ym9un That's fine, body upregulates and down regulates according to need, resources, genetics.
Also, there can be really wide variation simply based on the time of the day the sample is collected at. Try collecting the sample closer to 5-6 am, and it would be the highest - tied to circadian rhythm.
Also, the older one gets, the more issues test creates, cardiac, prostate and whatnot.
10 pounds in only 3 months? You're only achieving that with gear.
Only exception is if you are a total newbie in the gym
Definitely
Look at bro. It's fairly obvious. Doesn't invalidate the quality of advice.
but why is it better with carbs if you have pointed studies out before showing that you build just as much muscle on a keto diet
How many supplements do you want us to take? Damn bro 😂
All this is overkill. Eat a whole food balanced diet with plenty of protein, work out regularly but don’t overdo it, get good quality rest and recovery, take creatine…and you’ll be just fine. None of these other supplements have shown significant improvement enough to warrant the additional monthly costs.

But what do you if Creatine makes you pee all the time??
so carb cycling.
😂it’s funny how we run all around back to the same tried and true strategies.
TRT. eat a pro-metabolic diet, lift 4 times a week and some cardio
TRT in a therapeutic dose isnt going to make anybody jacked. Im on TRT because I had low T and suffering from depression. Now I have an average of 700-800 test levels. This is a healthy young male level in his prime capability to gain muscle. TRT helps maintain and reclaim lost muscle, but your not going to get your pro card by using it.
It can hall still. A vast majority live in the 400-500 realm. 700-800 won’t turn you into a mass monster but you will still see significant gains if you lift, eat well, and almost double your natural test.
@@jordanzakery9296 Thing that bugs me is people spouting TRT when they see somebody who is abusing steroids. Doesnt work that way.

Or... Orrrr just stay consistent. Control your calories. Give effort when working out. Do your cardio. And I don't think everyone needs 10 grams of creatine. Bro come on. Or just drink Gatorade after the workout. You don't need carb powders. When did all this become complicated?
I was just telling my clients the same thing
SLEEP. That is the most important part of building muscle.
