A watch that let you take over Radios. as a Kid in the 90s I also had a Casio that had a TV/VCR remote control and I could take over the TV in my elementary school.
I wonder if an evolution of this Casio model including also FM Radio with each model could become a Walkie Talkie (pair of Casio's would be required). That would have been an "easy sell" for 80s kids.
casio had to make watches that nobody was making at the time, they had to be ahead of the game. other cheaper brand already had walkie talkie type watches. casios only wanted to become the leader not in copying ideas but having their own ideas.

Hello, I watched an old video of yours about the Casio DBC-60, which was a watch that my late father gave me in 1987 but was stolen from me the following year. I'm from Brazil and I can't find it here for sale. I turned 50 last April and the nostalgia is hitting me hard, could you help me get one that can be sent to Brazil? Hugs and congratulations on the videos.
I wonder back in the 80's Casio watches were more futuristic as compared to today's watches. I think a Quartz watch with such wonderful features should be revolutionized with todays technology.
As a lover of Casio watches, I was happy to see there's actually another person who does too. I thought I was alone in my love for Casio. (Don't ask me how RUclips algorithms knew to throw this video in my feed.🤨) Aside from that, I have a suggestion. Point out all the flaws to the seller and make him an offer of half. (or slightly less) With the money you save, have an identical back 3D printed, or maybe search for a broken watch with a good back, or possibly even, have it professionally restored. As far as the battery plug, isn't there a couple of other, easy to get models, that used that exact same battery plug? As long as it's a match it shouldn't hurt the value. Personally, I would still try to scoop this one up because what if you come across another somewhere further down the road that needs other parts. You could then merge the 2 for a completed specimen. You never know... Thanks for the video!!
Wow, I've never seen one of those. Very cool. Casio was always bringing the innovation. I remember getting the Data Bank when it came out. The G-Shocks. Even some of the basic Casios. My cell phone has long since replaced the watch for me. Great video, thanks for sharing and stirring up memories. I do like looking at watches.
That's a very interesting and unique feature in a digital watch. I'm not sure how widespread an appeal Casio anticipated such a function would have. Doesn't seem to have much practical use. They probably should have used that extra antenna and circuitry space for an FM radio tuner. I used to LOVE Casio watches growing up in the 80's. I usually got a Casio of some kind for Christmas. The very first digital watch I got for Christmas 1980 (don't remember if it was a Casio) had a defect in the circuitry that caused it to skip over or just not display one of the hours of the day. I think it was 10 o'clock. It either just went from 9 to 11 or stayed on 9 for 2 hours. Something like that. It was a very odd defect, but I think LCD watches were still relatively new at that time. We ended up having to exchange it and the second one was fine.
That was a very cool share. Thanks for making this video. 🤗 Though I lost the love/addiction of wearing a watch in my mid-teens, As I was watching this and your alarms kept going off... I remembered how strong that NOW-seemingly-tiny 'beep-beep' was HIGHLY effective at getting attention! ! ! Side note: There are casios that transform into a ROBOT!!! (Got one in a gumball machine for $.25 coinage way back in the day, can you believe?!)
@Sandelec-gm2cl Oh! But it is still a cool piece ngl. It's one of those things that I would like to own before the age of the internet, and cassette tapes were a thing
I don't know why they chose to make this the wrist version of Mr Microphone as opposed to it being an FM radio receiver with earbuds. That would've sold much better in the 1980s. As it stands, I'm trying to figure out the use cases of having a Mr Microphone on your wrist. 🤔

0:10 You should make a video and talk about this problem, watch bands getting destroyed over time, I got a a few years ago a DBC-V50 and a CMD-20 NOS never worn and now the bands are destroyed, I think humidity is a huge issue with these bands
@@Oldcasiocollector there are watches with more years without that problem, I'm pretty sure zone humidity is the issue here, for example I also bought a DBC-61 NOS never worn, I stored in a ziploc bag for years and it remained pristine, but several years later I store it in a watch display with other watches and now the keypad is all cracked and the band is oily, of course we don't want to put all our watches in plastic bags, we want to display them, so I recently bought original Casio watch boxes for every watch I have in my collection, I suspect that box is more sealed than my previous watch display, I thought this could be a interesting topic to cover
casio used to create cool watches and they were top of the line in combining gadget and watch. i rarely see casio watch being that techy nowadays as they are replaced with smartwatches. I hope casio would create another category of smartwatches for inspector gadget like flipper zero kind of watch?
