- Sharing Gracies diagnosis of CHS and her vertebrae issue. I will be doing updates in hopes I can help someone else in a similar situation.

Symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure in Dogs:
-Most common sign of CHF is persistent coughing accompanied by difficulty breathing.
-reduced stamina
-coughing at rest or sleeping
-excessive panting
-loss of appetite
-swollen belly
-pale or bluish gums
-weight loss and muscle wasting
If any of these signs develop in a pet with or without a heart murmur, contact your veterinarian immediately
Gracies Current Medications:
First 7 days:
-Sulcrate Suspension 3ml liquid by mouth
Twice a day (Every 12 hours):
-Furosemide 20mg pill
-Vetmedin 1.25mg pill
Once a day:
-Meloxicam 1.5mg/ml - 0.5ml liquid by mouth
-Enalapril 6mg pill

It’s a horrible diagnosis and disease. My 12 yr old beagle/ cavalier mix just passed this past Saturday from CHF after about a yr and a half battle with it. We are devastated, I truly empathize with you. Enjoy the good moments while they last ❤

Thank you so much for sharing. On your first video, when you cried, I cried because that knowing! You had/have a positive outlook in regards to spending time with them. When your baby was coughing, is there anything that I can do to relieve him?
He gets better when I get up or turn my back. He calms down.

I am not a veterinarian , but I started natural medicine .my brother has Chihuahua dogs and one of his dogs has asma and heart problems and I give to the dog hawthorn Berry for the heart and muellein , dandelion for the lungs and so far the dogs is doing perferc.

I just found you while looking for videos on dogs with CHF. I'm sorry to hear about your "puppy".
My chihuahua is dieing of CHF and I doubt that he'll live out the rest of this month. He's on medication, but still constantly coughing. He does get a little repreve with the medication (maybe 2 hrs at the most) . It breaks my heart to hear him cough the way he does because I know that nothing is going to make it better. I feel for you and the day that comes when you will have to make that decision to put your puppy down. My puppies names are, Romeo and Juliet. Romeo, the younger and bigger (just over 6lbs) is the one with CHF. I truly don't know what Juliet is going to do without her Romeo.

Gracie is so so cute. We were told that our dog cannot be on the NSAIDS with the furosemide/ACE inhibitor. Just food for thought.
Did Gracie have side effects after starting her vetmedin and furosemide???
My dog dylan died suddenly January 10/21 my heart so broken 💔he's taking lots medicine too and hes heart lick he had ultrasound on December 15/ 2020 I cry every day Dylan he's my love of my life 😭 so sorry bout your dog 🙏💜
