All those asking for translation, I am so sorry some of the words are too tough in Sindhi that I don't understand others are completely "un-translateable" for me. However I am writing here some of the context here about the poetry. Umar Soomro was a ruler of some state in lower Sindh. One time he saw Marui (wrongfully called marvi nowadays) and instantly falls in love. He kidnaps her and takes her with him to his palace. She although poor never greedy rejects him and demands to be sent back to malir (her home town). This whole poem is in marui's perspective where she explains her love for her kin, her way of life and her city. She describes herself and her people and longs for them in a very sad poem. Written by undisputed King of Sindhi poetry Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. At the end of story, Umar feels her pain and decides to let her go and she rejoins her kin.
If anyone wants to listen to the sound of a pure soul, listen to Abida Parveen. At that young age she was the sound of purity, and till date she remains one...the very voice of Purity.
Being myself Sindhi I was not aware Abida Parveen sings so good in sindhi language recently she was in Mumbai and given concert with Shoba Mugdal I missed her programme sindhis from Mumbai should invite her for sindhi programme
Dear sir. Indian sindhi doesn't promote their sindhis. They are the biggest producers in bollywood, they could introduce sindhi singers and artists from sindh. Abda parven reached bollywood with her efforts. None of sindhi producer of bollywood help her. Here in sindh, there is an abundance of matchless artists. Abida parveen is nothing infront of them. But they are limited to sindh only. Bcz there is no opportunity for them. They are poor. They even can't reach to karachi or Hyderabad sindh. Nazar Muhammad jumani, Hyderabad sindh

It is one of the very best songs sending out a profound message of dignity of woman and how despite adversity is able to protect herself! A life changing message! Please add translation as subtitle in the video for others to know what is being sung about!
Up above a viewer named by Raza Alee has tried to described as much he could , he is right very difficult to translate with loosing it's purity behind it
This is the magic of sufi poetry n great singing that touches our souls n we feel like crying ... Its the the feeling that cant be describe into words ...even though i didn't understand the lyrics but my heart got the message ...
Vivek Kewalramani This is Shah Latif Saain's poetry. Older version of Sindhi that was commonly spoken when Shah lived. I hope you do know Shah Latif as his work has a status of cornerstone on which Sindhi literature stands.
Kuch log kah rahe hen k artists orignal nahi hain , jab k aisa nahi hay, artists orignal hain ap khud search kar k dekhen, nain naqsh bilkul same hain. Great sufi song!
Singer in the video isn't Abida parveen but voice is hers! This girl is just lip syncing! However the male singer late Waheed ali is same in both audio and video. This was oldest audio recording of madam abida and waheed ali which producer recreated. Madam Abida was not suitable for lip syncing as the audio and video won't match.
