Just bought a house that needs a little bit of work. Subscribing to your channel has been such a great value in helping with some repairs/upgrades. Thanks for uploading and keep up the good work💪🏽
Little tip for the insulation. To keep it from getting it in your skin or pores. Put baby powder on your arms and exposed areas. It will plug your pores and keep it out.
Haynes makes a blended cotton t-shirt with a pocket and I really like in the heat. It has a longer body that hides the butt crack when you are under the sink. : ) In fact, I just bought 4 more at Wal-mart today for $6.72 each. Well worth it. In the summer, I wear light grey ones, and in the winter I wear black. You gotta work with the season's sun radiation, not against it.
I forgot to lock that on a tow bar with an old 3/4 ton 'good times' van behind my 1/2 ton pickup. I was pulling it on a turn with the chains and the tow bar dug into the dirt perpendicular to the ground and the front of the van was suspended in the air. So glad it happened before I left the land and not going down the highway. I left trailer jacks down twice.
Try Goodwill for cheap t-shirts for painting, staining and the cargo shorts.. As far as the 'stink', wash in a dandruff shampoo-it has zinc and kills the bacteria
I use to be a big Leatherman Wave guy. I have two so when one broke I could send it in for warranty and use the backup. Then, I gave the Gerber Center drive a try. It replaced the Wave. You should try it out. The biggest deal was, it takes regular bits, the knife is one handed without opening like the wave. The pliers can fling out one handed as well and are spring loaded.
I like it. Its missing some tools that I have to have though. Do you know what kind of steel the main blade is made out of? I need scissors, saw, and the most important one is a pocket clip. I have a gerber where the pliers shoot out of it. I liked that feature and it took some getting use to switching to the leatherman.
The Handyman 420HC steel. I do miss the scissors. The saw I never really used. I wear it on my belt in the holder so I never cared for the pocket clip. In my pocket I keep a Milwaukee flip open razor blade.
Costco? I highly recommend Goodwill for extremely cheap and nice work clothes. I have 2 solid jean jackets each of which cost around 10 bucks. One is Carhart!
I like the way you work. You just start on something and i guess do your thinking while you work. You get r done. I stand around and look and think and plan.....pretty soon a couple of hours are gone and nothing accomplished.
Something people with ADHD sometimes have, is difficulty starting or Self-Motivating before a task Often I'll stand for 20 minutes just staring at a Hot water tank before I start to install it....speaking as a Plumber !
I'm going to be needing a handyman soon to fix up my soon-to-be a rental house. Have you done any videos on finding/identifying good handymen or on what a handyman can do vs bringing in a more specialized contractor? I have looked through your video list and didn't notice any but could have missed something.
(In reference to 6:28) don’t know if someone already mentioned this, but I don’t think it’s the carpet itself that’s “static-y” ... to my understanding: that extra static build up is usually a consequence of low humidity levels 🤔🤓😅 #MyTwoCents 😅😅😅
Home depot project book lists 1 skill level 2. Tools required 3 material list 4 material cost 5. Product 6. Plan People would be glad to pay $5 for detailed research imho
This might sound crazy, but I believe the static is from your shirt rather than the carpet... And I believe it's number nine in my ten rules of construction: "thou shall appear homeless." Keep up the good work!
I have this one on almost every day for the last 2 years. Still looks brand new. amzn.to/2LsruKJ Its not the best for appendix carry but not bad. I have others too.
Grabbing that pink fiberglass insulation doesn't bother my hands, but my forearms will itch for days. Baby powder helps if you apply it beforehand, but who keeps baby powder kicking around just in case?
You gotta try out DuluthTrading... I got their, dam near all their clothing... But best items i wear day to day working lawncare in the Hot swamp ass weather is the new "DuluthFlex Dry on the Fly Cargo Pants" Extremely thin, And feel great, Feels like im not wearing much.... I also wear their " CoolMax Performance Longtail T" shirts I get longtail (3-4 Inches longer then all other shirts) just so i can keep them tucked in.... And either "Armachillo Cooling Boxer Briefs" which cause a little humidity, But keep your junk cool, Or the "Men's Extra Long Buck Naked Boxer Briefs" which feels like you're wearing nothing, I get extra long so my fat ass thighs don't rub together. Anyways theres the best clothing in the world... They are expensive and i have to give up my left nut to afford it, But their "No bull guarantee" you can send it back when ever, For any reason at all.
Love your videos! But plastic wall anchors are the fuckin’ worst... metal is all I use... I work in a hospital though. I know nothing about residential.
I check the time ever few minutes to make sure I'm on schedule. Pulling a giant phone out of my pocket when my hands have joint compound, paint, tools on/in them doesn't work.
OMG , that blue .... Do you see many rentals this color ( or similar Bad colors ) where you are . Rent must be v-e-r-y low to get ( most ) tenants in. I understand the ...tape off what doesn't get painted and spray Everything with one color/sheen style of " Rental " painting , I don't like it , but I understand it . But that blue is way too much , then the carpet etc .... hey any chance they even have that old style matching Blue tub, toilet, and sink ? :-) I've been involved with our family owned rentals for 35 yrs , ( down to just 3 4-plexes now ) , and one of the most important things .is to keep the colors basically neutral . Doesn't mean they have to be boring though . Yes , it's a business first , but it's also the tenant's HOME , and that's the way we approach it . The " its just a rental " mentality , is something I try to stay away from . Buying the cheapest toilet , taps ,tiles , fridge/stoves etc. saves money up front , but very likely will cost you more in the end , not to mention , went You treat it as a Rental , so do the tenants . And if the tenant is reminded everyday that this is just an average generic rental , they are always going to be looking for something better . our average tennant stays for about 10 years . Those wall anchors you use ( I call them " corkscrew mollies " ) are certianly the way to go , but I'll only buy the metal ones. Bob from Calgary
This house has never been a rental. A lady lived here for 45 years and just moved into assisted living. The house will be completely painted and the blue will be gone in a few days. Its going to rent for $1975 a month.
Ok yes I guess you did sort of say that , about some living in there that long , but you spoke of it being a rental , I guess up and coming rental, I thought it had already been a rental .. Ok i understand the color now .
You always say that its "just a rental house" or something similar. A landlord better be taking even better care of their rental properties than their personal home. Rental properties are an investment and if they're not kept in tip-top shape it's a bad investment.
Do I need a dedicated circuit for a microwave or can I run that on a gas stove circuit? I bought a multitool, my life has changed. I was expecting it to be harder to cut a straight line. I just need to find a place to buy blades. They crazy if they think Im paying 20 dollars a blade.
It is best practice to have a microwave on a dedicated circuit. Most microwaves in use are NOT on a dedicated circuit. If I was doing a kitchen remodel I would try to run a new circuit. If I was just retrofitting a microwave I would tap into another 20 amp circuit. I get wood blades for about a dollar each. Look for a video about that tool and where I get the blades. It should be out in about a week.
That's just as good as 100 for $100! Best I have found so far is 2 blades for $15. I remember thinking I wanted your deal at Christmas time and I was going to give my brother 1/2 the box! Because he IS one to just "buy one for now" at HD for $20! I can't stomach it!
I buy mine off amazon in bulk. The hardest part is finding blades that work with my dewalt quick change and also getting an assortment that's all wood blades cause I rarely use metal blades
Remove the trim on the inside and outside. Cut the nails or screws that attach the jam to the framing. Shim the jam and the sill then reinstall the trim.
I use that method a lot to fine tune interior doors. In another post he said it was really crooked and wouldn't even latch. There is only so much crookedness you can adjust by bending the hinges. A regular crescent wrench works.
Another great tool is the hinge doctor- make sure you use the one for residential. Good for fixing hinges that are out of wack. Knuckle bender is good , over use can snap part of the hinge just an FYI
I have a very strict tight schedule. I can't be pulling my phone out of my pocket every 15 minutes to check my schedule. especially when my hands have tools in them, I'm painting, or drywalling.
Well I told one tonight I will make them a video if they pay me $2000 and they said they would check and get back to me. I may be doing a video on a $50 Chinese electric screw driver in the near future. Ha Ha Ha

I think “The Stinky Handyman” is more catchy than just “the handyman”. Think about it. Or stink about it. Cheers!👍🏻

great suggestion.
Seymour Butts 😂😂😂😂😂 Love it man ! keep up the killer videos, I am a handyman myself trying to make a living 🛠
You do great work, wish you lived in MN because people like you are in short supply!
I like the way you work. You just start on something and i guess do your thinking while you work. You get r done. I stand around and look and think and plan.....pretty soon a couple of hours are gone and nothing accomplished.
Do you maybe have ADHD ?
Something people with ADHD sometimes have, is difficulty starting or Self-Motivating before a task

Adam savage has a cool video making a case for his leatherman.
Brother, I've never seen anybody make white frames work, well done sir...well done!
Seymore Butts 🤣😂🤣
@5:39 you said sill, the correct term is window stool. Love your videos, love your work, just having fun!
Eww that's a bug!!! Eeek!!!, Lol best part !!!

Hey, I just ordered the back-up camera and monitor. A good deal. Hope it helps you. If it works well, I have another service truck to outfit.
Install a humidifier to help with the static discharge.
You can handle the insulation because of your healing factor, Handyman X.

The condition of the heating and ac unit is the first thing I like to look at 😂
Wow, they really like blue.
All the walls were blue and all the carpet is blue my eyes were starting to hurt after spending the day in there.
looks like the baseboard is blue too?
stang7043 Even the tape he is using is blue 👽
Is the ceiling blue as well? What the hell.
Blue his house, with a blue little window.
Nicely done video HM.

From back in the day "Adult Movies" right?
Love your channel, but the white sun shades.
My dad gave them to me as a gift.
Cool my dad gave me a par of Vietnam aviators. Still have them 40 years later.
@@TheHandyman1 I love the white Shades! What brand? I have to have them please!
Love all your videos..
If you know a handyman in Los Angeles area that is good you can recommend I would like to do my master shower. Its way out of my range.
Would you prefer driving a Van/Bread Truck for your equipment and pull a trailer for trash rather than your pickup with trailer?
Its like smurf village in that joint
When staining pine I wet it first to open up the pours of the wood and that will give you a way better stain finish
Handyman, I've learned alot from you, you have alot of nice tricks do you have anything on hanging double or single rod for curtains and drapes
Hahah Handyman stays handyman
Cool video Handyman
I am thinking about a trailer so I would like to see your set up for some ideas please
White sunglasses are for the ladies
How about a review on an IWB holster? My buddy makes fantastic holsters from Kydex for very reasonable prices.
I have this one on almost every day for the last 2 years. Still looks brand new. amzn.to/2LsruKJ Its not the best for appendix carry but not bad. I have others too.
Holy ball sacks of gods. How did you get in a 80s video game?.. tell me!
Question, will the sun change the color to lighter oak on stained facings any? Or just change color over time, to somewhat match the other windows?
This dude looks like Eric bana

Looks like his trick was cutting the head of the plastic anchor off and pushing the rest into the wall.
A complete how to video University would be great I'd be willing to pay $300-500 for
They like blue huh.
Love your videos! But plastic wall anchors are the fuckin’ worst... metal is all I use... I work in a hospital though. I know nothing about residential.
Maybe you should make your own professional tshirt branding?
Look up Bunker Branding, Matt is a cool dude!
that house is so blue lol
also about 134k in todays money
Now you look like a handyman with that tape on your wardrobe mishap 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yes
Yes?
Yes.
No.
If ever elected to office, I vow to outlaw the flat head fasteners.
If you have your phone, then what's the watch for?
I check the time ever few minutes to make sure I'm on schedule. Pulling a giant phone out of my pocket when my hands have joint compound, paint, tools on/in them doesn't work.
Make a video how you installed the camera on your truck, please
Does Blues Clues live there?
I could not do the insulation barehanded if I’m next to it and don’t touch it my bare skin has horrible reactions I can’t stand insulation day
The static is from your polyester wardrobe
Cotton is best!! Better for your skin. Use deodorant lol you are getting zapped bc of the clothes

Hi handyman, what leatherman tool do you have? Great videos sir.
amzn.to/2Jmpq6o
The Handyman thank you sir
Charge is my number one tool. Use that thing all the time. Skeletool is great also and I carry that most of the time too.
You never told us what your trick was while prepping the wall for the shades.
You always say that its "just a rental house" or something similar. A landlord better be taking even better care of their rental properties than their personal home. Rental properties are an investment and if they're not kept in tip-top shape it's a bad investment.
Hey check that guy..new clothes..
We don't need no Stinkin Handyman
Can you use spray insulation under the sink?
To much of a void for the kind that comes in a can. And to messy.
Do I need a dedicated circuit for a microwave or can I run that on a gas stove circuit?
I bought a multitool, my life has changed. I was expecting it to be harder to cut a straight line. I just need to find a place to buy blades. They crazy if they think Im paying 20 dollars a blade.

Awesome!! I remember you saying you buy those blades by the 100. I was going to ask where. I look forward to the video!
I was mistaken I get them in a box of 50. for $50

So what was the “trick” with hanging the curtain rod?
How to get the old anchors out
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cotton candy.
That's good carpet? What the hell would they consider bad carpet?
I need help.my front door is a bit crooked.any advice?
Remove the trim on the inside and outside. Cut the nails or screws that attach the jam to the framing. Shim the jam and the sill then reinstall the trim.
Search amazon for "knuckle bender door tool". They have directions and do a great job on putting a door back in square.
I use that method a lot to fine tune interior doors. In another post he said it was really crooked and wouldn't even latch. There is only so much crookedness you can adjust by bending the hinges. A regular crescent wrench works.
Thank you guys.gonna start on it asap

You have a clock on your phone, so why keep a watch in your EDC?
I have a very strict tight schedule. I can't be pulling my phone out of my pocket every 15 minutes to check my schedule. especially when my hands have tools in them, I'm painting, or drywalling.
why wear a watch when you can see time on your phone ? just asking.
There are people who can't change switchplate covers? Wow.
There are people who can't change light bulbs!
That blue is horrendous
I think my state you have to get new carpet each time a tenant moves in
That's crazy. I have never heard od that.
alwase keep in mind sabotage or a kid screwing around with the trailer
45 years ago if you took home $200. a week you were making bank and could afford a $22 grand house.
Re: your trailer hook up. Another tip: CROSS your safety chains....
I have always done that. I wonder if there is any actual testing that shows its better.
If you ever lose the hitch connection, it would create a 'cradle' for your coupler, so it doesn't hit the ground while you are slowing down.
That's a depressed house.
At 15:45 what is the trick??
I know the code to the front door.
How much did you charge on this one bro?
How do you have WiFi in your truck?
I have unlimited data on a very old verizon plan. I turn my phone into a hot spot and have wifi everywhere.
The Handyman ah! Awesome. Smart.
A Lopardo Dealer aftermarket !
Didn’t Lil Tay make a video in this house before ?
Yes and she used my work truck too.
Fuck yaa handyman!!!!
WATCH OUT FOR THE DEAD BUGS , STINKY HANDYMAN :-)
Just mark the Chinese solicitations as spam and ignore them. They don't merit a response.
Well I told one tonight I will make them a video if they pay me $2000 and they said they would check and get back to me. I may be doing a video on a $50 Chinese electric screw driver in the near future. Ha Ha Ha
Good luck! I admit I'll be surprised if it turns out they're willing to pay enough to make it worth your while.
I cringe every time you handle that insulation with your bare hands. Did that as a teenager a few times and each time it felt like I had a million splinters stuck in my hands for hours.
Beginning of the video looks like your driving in an old shitty video game.
Why not ground the carpet? I dont know connect a wire under it and to a ground wire. :P

try again
Well i am punching all combos but the lock wont open lol
I think anyone who's used a lot of cheap tools knows that Chinese junk is extremely common.
A little hard work and a can of paint that place could be a real shit hole.
You can’t just say no to the Chinese people or just do passive aggressive on RUclips
