It didn't work. All that planning, all those words and all of the hope and it didn't work. All that is left is one gem and the one who wears it. Through it she can see the smiles, the warmth, and everything she had and now its all gone. Everything they had fought for, the struggles, the sacrifices it is all in vain. All that's left behind is this small gem and her. And the only thing she can do now is embrace it, and never let go.

I love this video. I play D&D with some of my friends and how are currently campaign is going is has been nothing but small victories and great defeats. Were the cost is greater than what we expect. We just finished defending a group of people that are vital to our story and when we were moving to a new area we teleported to my mothers place as a means of convenience and to get some more info on our bbeg that we think she might have. Once we arrived we noticed that things seemed off. My character wasn't welcomed warmly like she normally was. After moving threw my home we notced there were signs of a battle that occurred here. We kept searching for my characters mother going to her room then her library that she kept hidden in her room. Once inside we found her library is currently in the midst of burning down and my mothers butler was floating by her desk barely holding himself together. When i asked where my mother was he pointed to the chair at her desk. I turned it around seeing her decrypted corpse sitting in the chair. While i was asking my butler how this happened he showed my the last moments of his life. Showing me that the bbeg was there and is related to my mother. He knew she was hiding something and wanted to know, when she refused to play his game he started attacking her. After what seemed like hours of fighting he pulled out a book and gave her one final warning. When she continued to defy him he set the book ablazed and it seemed to equally pull the life essence from my mother like her sould was bound to the book. She and the butler telported away but the damage was done and she died in her private library. With her final moments being of thoughts of my character, her child and how she loved me. My character broke down after seeing all that and now knowing that the only bit of family she knew is now gone, because they were hiding her from the bbeg.
Listening to this video perfectly encapsulates the scene that played out for me and the other players. I could feel my characters pain and know the sense of loss that is going through her while listening to this video.

Why do I get the feeling this was in a campaign.
finally..been a while since last we had great music.
And here comes another heartstring tugging set of tracks! I have to say, every time that these come along I feel torn between remembering sad times and being in awe of the ability these tracks have to hack the human heart and bring forth so many emotions.
This set of tracks bring to mind a kindhearted spirit locked inside a tomb by those who would seek for darkness to take hold in the world. Ever doomed to remain silent and alone, but not ready to give in. Struggling, but remaining steadfast and trying their best to remain strong.

And with everything that happened it leaves you questioning why you do it. But you still move on, because something, somewhere inside you tells you that you're not done fighting. To quote a song: "it's easy to fake a smile when you've been doing it for a while"
Everyone hurts. Two people can have the same problems but one person may hurt more and that's okay. It will always be okay.
If you want to hide it or distract yourself from it so you don't feel weak or powerless or if you just want it to numb before you try to deal with it than that's okay. Just don't stay like that. Trust me I'm in that exact boat right now. I tried to distract myself from it to let it numb but....too much in too little time. And i keep putting on my mask to hide it from those i love. And because of that I can't heal, not yet. But You can. You just have to take the mask off once in awhile to let yourself hurt just a little. You're not alone. You're not the only one who hurts. And people do care about you. Sometimes they are people you think hate or ignore you others are just people you haven't met yet.
Please remember that.
And yes i know this comment is poorly written and ive probably screwed it up somehow but I tried to not let my pain spill into it. I dont eant to make people my therapist after all and I think the message is the same mostly. So just please focus on that.

It slipped out of her wet hands. My fingers turned red as they touched the still warm blood soaked by the pendant.
The girl extended her hands instinctively. Crying sore eyes fixed their gaze on the red pendant.
"Clutch it tightly. " her fingers wrapped around quickly. " They can't come back. But don't forget their memories. Remember them as they were."
She didn't speak a single word the whole way. And I didn't expect her too. The girl barely left my side. Hugging, sobbing, in pain.
"Don't leave me..." she finally said as we inched closer to the town.
"I won't. Ever." I lied.
