Y’all act like like you didn’t have to unlock characters in Xenoverse 1 & 2 parallel quest and story mode. They even had secret ways to unlock certain characters.

If they're gonna bring back beam struggles, they gotta change it from spinning the stick to just mashing a button to save our controllers
Better yet, a random button sequence with a tug of war sort of struggle
or you can use a PS5 dual sense edge controller with replaceable analog sticks for $20
Just make you need to move mouse pointer like OSU!

The most important aspect for me is that the transformations actually feel like transformations. Like with each one your stance changes along with your combos and super and ultimate attacks. If they do that right im happy
Something amazing that I always wanted to see ingame is transformations while dashing, it would be fire. There use to be a game named Bloody roar where u could transform while doing a combo but imagine this in a Dragon ball game that would be completely insane.
Id like the transformations to actually add to your stats. More HP, more attack, more defense, more speed, more special attack more special defense and Goku evolves while trading only when holding a blond stone

I want real power rankings. Like krillin shouldn't be able to land a hit on Goku ultra instinct. Goku blue should absolutely wipe the floor with cell perfect form. Maybe like a difficulty setting or power setting
You missed a few things that also made this game so amazing. The "What if" Stories were amazing because they were basically stories that the fans would argue about and it also let you play the story through the perspective of the Villain. Another awesome thing was being able to record your battles which I absolutely loved. Being able to knock a character into walls was also extremely fun.. I remember knocking my friends into a wall, they'd get stuck and i'd just charge up a beam right in their face like in the show.

The fighting mechanic and how some characters talk to each other in a fight. The beam struggles and vanishes as long as you had the ki you can vanishes anytime to get behind your opponent, whether it was mid-combo after combo or if your opponent unleash the Ki blast you can vanishes behind them. 😘 ALL GREAT THINGS budokai tenkaichi 3...the characters, the roster, the stories 😘
I hope this game is a competitively viable 3D fighter like Tekken or something, arena fighters are fun for a bit but once the novelty wears off I get bored of them pretty quick.
The budokai tenkaichi series basically gave me an idea how to power scale the characters each having their own unique ability.
I also wanna unique stages/ distractible stages like in T.O.P stage turn off the flying mechanic and you can fall into the void for an automatic win and in the martial art have a ring out mechanic also, if you use a planet destroying attack, it destroys the planet
I’m hoping that a new Budokai Tenkaichi Collection will release to keep up the hype. As for the Budokai Collection… I still like it since it still plays well. A shame about the music though. Although leaving out Budokai 2 was weird. Anyway, back to topic… I would love for them to rerelease the 3 main Budokai Tenkaichi as well as the Raging Blast (since those were meant to be new style BT games at the time) games to keep the hype up. That would be dope.

haven't played in a long time, but is that really neccessary? the games have barely any differences, and 3 is just better then the others, other than maybe 2 having better OST and a better story mode.
We need the BT Collection back because it doesn't have a backward and can't be played in new gen consoles so I want it back
the budokai tenkaichi games were the only dbz games I could get into and not get bored about the gameplay or mechanics, it was just plain dumb fun that made you feel like a badass. So many good memories like pulling a perfect combo and blowing up the planet at the end

1 battle damaged gi outfit characters over time in battle
2 story mode elements from both tenkaichi 2 and 3
3 character equipment customization halos scouters etc...
4 more capsule slots to hold more ultimate & super moves spirit bomb super spirit bomb etc...
5 combined z capsule store from budokai 3 and all the other tenkaichi games combined into one z capsule store
6 goku's instant transmission as one of his skill sets move
I have a check list for this game, if it marks them all, this will litteraly be legendary.
1. Have at least as big of a roster as Budokai 3.
2. Bring back beam struggles.
3.Bring back both battle damage from prolonged battle and heavy battle damage from ults and beam struggle losses.
4. Give some sort of map destruction.
5. Give us what if scenarios depending on how we play the missions.
6. GIVE US ONLINE CROSSPLAY

@@goatbrandon Just listing off almost everything Budokai 3 had, the 4th, new gen console game has no reason to not have equal effort put into it.
You can scratch #1 off. We are neck deep into DLC & they see this as perfect opportunity to capitalize and charge

You know microtransactions has taken over gaming. I'm just trying to remain realistic and not create false high hopes to be disappointed later cause of my own expectations of what it should be.

Honestly, this could set them up for a LONG time if they do it right. The OG still sells for $100-$200 USED on eBay so imagine what a completely new game would do in sales. I personally have been wanting T3 for the longest time and always told myself if they did a remake I would 100% pay $200 if it was good. Not that T4 is announced, how they handle it will determine if I continue to buy these games tbh. Too many let downs with predíganse are pushing players away and I think they know that so I think they’ll do good

-Good local Splitscreen is a must(Xenoverse sucks in that)
-Destructible environments
-Anime like sound effects
-Tag team battle like in Tenkaichi Tag team with the option for 1vs3
-A lot of Cannon maps would be cool but i think thats a lot to ask
-a game mode like in Smash for 3ds where you walk/Fly around collecting stuff to power up your character and when the time is over you battle
I loved how a strong energy blast would destroy the battlefield and make the battlefield look like the apocalypse. A beautiful touch

I loved Tenkaichi 1-3 just as much as the next dude, but we didnt even see gameplay yet. It might be completely different than Tenkaichi, this could just be a cashgrab. Be careful.

You forgot the fist clashes. Also I kinda want them to add a mechanic that they had in Tenkaichi Tag Team. Also I really want them to implement some of the mechanics from raging blast 2. That would be awesome.
The BT4 mod added air clashes that BT3 had in the story mode but as an actual mechanic for vanish counters. We need that. Look it up.

I want character creation, I want lots of outfits, I want at least 160+ characters with room for more DLC add ons, I want tournament mode, I want 5v5 back, I want it to have online support to fight random people. Honestly as long as the gameplay is an improved version of BT2 or 3 I'll be happy I don't even care if they have ps2 graphics lol.
If they include character creation into this game along with the other things on the wishlist, this game can be the Goat‼️

Over half of the BT3 characters were all imported from BT2... and BT2 had imported characters from BT1.
It wasnt created on BT3 from scratch, at all... All of them are the same game, its just that BT3 was the most updated one, just like how today its Patches and DLCs instead of releasing a new game.
This is the realistic vision: expect an almost full roster from Super, a decent amount of characters from Z except Movies.
And all the rest including Movies will come in DLCs, say GT and OG DB.

I don't think what I'm asking for is unrealistic or unreasonable, what might be is if I said I wanted a 100 vs 100 team battle mode. Everything I've mentioned has already been done in previous dragon ball games back on ps2 and some even older than that, so what I'm asking for isn't unrealistic, if they're lazy and they do copy over assets then it makes it even easier to implement considering how they've already had these features. Even back on the ps2 they had a lot of outfits to choose from on characters.

I’m really wondering if they’ll bring back giant transformation, how they’ll look, and how their gameplay will function in today’s amazing graphics!
I got goosebumps from watching the trailer! time to relive my childhood when this comes out lol
the thing is, budokai tenkaichi 3 released when gaming was about having fun and exciting content. we are well in the phase where companies are more concerned about financial gain and thus modern day games and their features / lack thereof reflect that
They should really bring back the extra fusions like tiencha and gokule, and maybe introduce a couple of new fusions with the main villains/characters.
Imagine being able to fuse any character you want.
Hope the sonic sway is in bt4 I loved how you could press triangle and circle and dodge your opponents hits
Battle damages is a must have I just love that
Okay, couple things I think this game needs to do
1.) keep the bt3 fighting mechanics in place.
The simple square triangle hits made it easy to learn new characters but still left some variety. For example rolling hammer always turned characters around and flying kick couldn’t be escaped. It was deep enough as a fighting system But it saved you the time of having to learn every single character from scratch… keeping a semi arcade like feel.
2.) ADD QAULITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS to the move list and descriptions of items
give us more info on characters moves from the move list. For example, some moves can be charged multiple times like kaio ken, and some escapes like wild sense or afterimage only worked on certain attacks. All of those things should be specified in the move lists.
during customization it was unclear just how much boost you were getting from atk +1 def+1 etc unless you tested it. All of that should be included in the item description. Also, you should know your characters base stats because some characters naturally already had more or less atk and def than other characters without items.
And finally the tutorial should be overhauled for a modern one with all the ai control options.
3.) Keep Multiple Variants of Characters
For example don’t combine every vegeta or every Goku into one character. It should still be Goku early, mid, and end. Each variation had different things it brought to the table. For example, eventhough their melee moves were the same… Goku mid ss had a distinct look and unique supers that were different from Goku end ss. Now for Qol improvements they may combine these forms into one roster spot that you can change with shoulder buttons similiar to naruto storms costumes, but they still should have all the unique variations included.
4.) DONT BALANCE THE ROSTER
It was always fun using customization to make Arale OP or to have db characters get thrashed by get characters because of the difference in power levels and health bars. I think they should add the settings options to make both opponents have at least equal health bars and other similiar stats if you want a fair fight. but keep it unbalanced for based game.
5.) BUILD ON THE TEAM MECHANICS
They could possibly add support attacks or support effects and ultimates similiar to naruto storm.For example, healing faster when not in the fight, more damage on supers, more advantage in clashes etc. this could add another level of strategy to the game and more nods to the series for die hard fans. For example if you have ssj2 gohan and Goku end on your team then you get an advantage in clashes and beam struggles. Also they could add a settings option to play with or without these boosts.
6.) Just Have Tons of Content
I’m pretty certain they are gonna lock characters behind season passes/dlc and that’s all fine. But that means this game should have all the bells and whistles… meaning BGM from all the games, a large roster of stages, extra outfits, and tons of features in the character encyclopedia.
Everything you said is exactly what everyone else is saying they want. We need this and not a single thing left out. This game has to if it’s going to be a worthy successor to Budokai Tenkaichi 4

@@zomebody5529 I have absolutely no faith in modern game development standards, the cutscene they showed also looks like the game was very expensive to develop. I really hope this game is good enough to be named Budokai Tenkaichi but I really doubt they are able to deliver, the bar is high and the practices have changed for the worse since

Only two things are on my wishlist.
1. DON'T DUMB DOWN THE CONTROLS
2. Every character in every other game is part of the roster on launch, none of that Fighterz or Xenoverse shit

Ur list is plausible and on point!! As long they bring the variety rooster free unlock for most of characters, the beam/ vanish/ fight clash and the fight system(better) i will be happy.
I’m fully aware that this is not Xenoverse. But I am hoping that this game will allow us to create our characters. Perhaps even include the ability to create anthro animal and robot characters. There’s so much potential! 👍
It'd be very fitting. I remember BT3 had a sort of gear system where you could apply various buffs to the pre-existing fighters. It even included custom aura colors.
@@RacingSnails64 I would prefer that, maybe taking inspiration from the XV2's master's customization, making you personalize a character with other colours and moves.
Like giving bardak Vegeta's armor colors and the kamehameha for example.
Keep in mind. The reason the roster is so huge is if you count transformations as separate characters. Not to mention lots of characters that are split based on eras (I hate this about the BT games), not to mention characters that were added just to pad the roster (Do we really need Babidi and Appule?). If we trim the fat and not count transformations as separate, that’s about 70 or so characters. Still a good number, and that’s not even adding the newer stuff from Battle of Gods onwards. But temper your expectations.
With today’s climate, we’ll likely get a slightly smaller roster with loads of DLC support.
Yes we need "the fat". That is the reason why the game was so good. Nobody cares about playing the same 10 characters for 30 years
@@RancorSnp We don’t really need stuff like Babidi or Appule. Not before adding more major characters that actually fought anyway. Yes, the big roster is part of the fun, but the game itself was also just fun to play. Good fat trimmed roster to start with some of the new hotness from Super and the recent movies is great for a starting roster. The rest like minions out of left field characters are a bonus more than a necessity that DLC can cover.
I loved BT3 because of the fat not in spite of it. Back when games were made to sell off the shelves not sell DLC.

Amazing video! Do not forget Team Battles actual 5v5 rather than calling in allies and all that low-effort bs, we've had, not to mention the simplicity of the playstyle, making it easy to pick up for new players so that it supports multiplayer with friends rather than just competitive online, of course, it could include considerations to make it competitive too just like Budokai Tenkaichi 3, where competitive play is totally different than casual, but still casual can be very enjoyable, unlike something like FighterZ where it will forever be impossible to get a friend to play with you that have not played the game before. Great video again, fingers crossed for the release, most exciting news of the decade honestly! Hope they just stick to all the concepts of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 accept them ALL as facts that went right and just upgrade them e.g. more characters I wanna play with characters as insignificant as Oceanus Shenron, and keep the same battle system (the attention to detail you mentioned) not bs like Videl being able to keep her own against Super Baby 2 in FighterZ. Stayign true to the franchise!!!!

My unpopular opinion: I don't mind if we have a smaller roster if they can make every character feel true to their fighting style. BT2 and BT3 are my top 5 games of all time but I have to admit the fighting styles definitely all felt a bit similar past certain unique abilities.
Me too because let be honest the vast majority of Tenkaichi 3 character play similar and are unnecessary
Smaller roster would be unforgivable. We don't need every character that was included in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 but Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!, Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, Episode of Bardock, Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super Hero... all didn't exist prior to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 releasing. I'm expecting at least 200 characters (including transformations).
As a kid I played all the Budokai games and the BT as they came out and played them with my little brother and next door neighbour. The last few DBZ games ngl I have not enjoyed due to how the fighting system differed so much compaired to BT3, I have always preferred BT seires and seing this drop made me so damn happy! I still actually own my DBZ BT3 from the PS2 days and I could never get rid of it because I enjoyed it so much! Hopefully they stay true to previous games with the story mode of every DBZ series, I hope they have replicate this fighting system including beam struggles because ngl that was DOPE! Made you feel so powerful doing that kinda stuff as you said in this vid. I have waited many years for this I don't mind waiting more to bring out a masterpiece ✌
It's those small details and the huge love that this game was made with that made it amazing! Plus this new game needs world tournament mode with ring outs!!!! I'll be soooo happy! And local multiplayer!!!!

When u realize the roster for tenkaichi 3 was 98 characters. The other 60 slots was just transformations. So me being realistic were probably getting around 80-100 base roster. Or if it's gonna follow just the super story around 50 or 60.

Tenkaichi 3 was one of my go-to games to play as a kid. I would sink countless hours after school to play it, my favorite characters were Cooler, Piccolo, the Buus, and Cell. But truthfully I played over half the roster lol. I cannot wait for this game
I loved playing as Burter, Scouter Vegeta, Baby Vegeta (first form), SSG4 Gogeta, base late Vegeta and Super 17

move that beats ANY MOVE wether super Kamehameha or 100x BIG BANG. it goes thru any move. such a badass move because that is actually canon
I have no doubt my expectations will not be met. Game modes and new characters will likely be DLC with a preorder bonus with outfits and year 1 season pass models.
Imagine having a giant tournament of power stage where there are different teams/universes that have to fight each other in a giant online battle royale, would be epic
i want them to implement the dash cancels and overall freedom with movement u have in bt3 , but also find a way to tie in combo cancels that were in raging blast 1/2 in a creative way . now this is unlikely to happen but its very possible if they find the right pocket for the mechanics . also i want the color shading on each character & their forms to be absolutely great , i dont want no halfass color shading . there is no reason for a super saiyan 3 goku to have an orange colored gi when it should be yellow if u catch my drift

I doubt they'll have a roster as huge as BT3 at launch. With how much technology has evolved and with them undoubtedly have highly detailed models, animations *AND* more complex coding, I won't be surprised if that takes up a lot of their development time, so they'll have the roster be smaller than what came before. But hopefully we'll a pretty big roster at the very least.

I hope it has a a battle Royal similar to ToP, that would be insane, a photo mode would be great, oh and I really like the what if missions as well, and of course a huge roster than Tenkaichi 3.

Ay happy to see someone that like other universe characters I really liked basil because he used kick fighting style and Bergamo too because of his absorbing ability
I know that many people didn't like ribbriane but I liked her friends fighting style one who used claw attacks and other putting putting ki as she attack
that will create good mind games opportunity especially if someone put ki in entire stage
I think aniraza will be biggest character in entire bt games cocotte the girl from pride troopers will be great too thanks to her dimension ability
You can use her to 1v1 a character from other team not having to worry about someone jumping you because your fighting them in another dimension
And If some try to break it there will be chance of hurting your teammates too because you don't know where they are in dimensions only cocotte player can see what's happening outside

You were right on the money with the need for multiple modes, both single-player and multi-player. That was my issue with Fighterz. Single player options outside of story and arcade are important for longevity.
This game is just so great.. my mind is blown that they’re coming out with 4
So much potential to be one of the best games in a long damn time

I Haven't had the pleasure of playing Budokai Tenkaichi, only seen gameplay, but I played Burst Limit, which I consider to be an extremely underrated hidden gem of a game with how high of a skill ceiling it had.(it was extremely fun learning just how sharp and accelerating the combat can be when you truly learn how to combo and utilize all the techniques the game gives you). the biggest let down of burst Limit is that it only had up to the cell saga, and I'm not really talking about character selection- because I think the game had enough polish and the characters were fun enough that there was no need to have that many characters when you can instead just learn the combat as well as the character's move-set/feel for many hours.
I'm happy for budokai fans and I hope it delivers the experience it advertises itself to be, but ngl, I'm hoping it also serves as a burst limit 2. if it doesn't then It's not really gonna grab me.(by that I mean- sharp/quick combat which keeps surprising you as you learn more and more and again even _more_ depth to it via more mechanics and abilities, and little intricacies in even the simplest stuff, and that knowledge instantly giving you more options for game plans and putting you in a higher tier then if someone doesn't know it or if the cpu isn't as good reacting/pushing it but not so much so if you can't execute it well enough or if the other still out-skills you in other areas...I don't wan't the optimal Strat to be just throwing projectiles, teleporting and punching, I don't want abilities that boil down to rock paper siccorss in cutscenes- I rather mash buttons for beam struggles, or have to make split second decisions and guesses over 3-5 possible approaches, and I want resources that can shift the pace of the battle while also being high risk....ik there's a lot of overlap between budokai and Burst Limit, but I've also seen enough dissimilarities that make me think burst limit's combat system is just a tier or maybe even 2 tiers higher, but I can only speak for my experience, and I just hope this new game manages to reach the surprising depths that Burst Limit had from my perspective.)
while I hope this to be the case, I'm also not gonna hold my breath for it, It's been long sense I feel I can trust any kind of anime combat game to deliver, and I can see this game having a very big margin of error (many ways they can mess up), so I'm cautiously optimistic.
I know it will never happen, but I think it would be really cool if some attacks impaled while others sliced. Think about it so many characters have regeneration, and so many characters are constantly losing limbs. It would be a cool way to actual make the attacks different and have the characters be able to use their proper abilities. Since there’s really no difference between a Destructo disk to a final flash besides visual no?

Bro this game is goated because of the fighting mechanics, it’s literally made to make u feel like the character ur using! Everything is fluid, I hope that these mechanics are maintained and improved in the newer one!

I remember playing with my friends and once we were to the last character or low on health, we would charge to do beam struggles with ultimate attacks.
I agree it has very high expectations if even half the stuff on the list you had isn’t on there upon release and not added later on it’s a failure the bar is set extremely high for BT4 I’m extremely excited for this game

I always wanted to play the budokai games, but I never had the consoles because they were old console and my parents wouldn't by them for me. But now we're getting a new budodai game, and I can finally get a taste of it. "IF" 4 lives up to 3.

One thing I want is the gt versions of goku and vegeta to have the golden great ape form, it's so simple but I really wanted to have a golden monkey that wasn't baby vegeta. Maybe even give the golden great apes ki based supers rather than them throwing rocks. The rest I'm not to worried about I trust the developers and I'm sure we won't be disappointed
When a game makes even the wii version of it good, you know it was a good game.

With the 1v1 and 5v5 game modes i would like to see the 2v2 mode from tenkaichi tag team. I also hope this will be the first dragon ball game to have cross play. ALSO survival mode. I hated that raging blast 2 removed it. Lastly, it would be game changing if they used ideas from Project Raging Blast 3. Thats what it was made for in the first place
Bruh we use to make theories about a 4th game so we was right after all these years 🥲 bruh 2008 was so long ago and I use to literally make my own versions of blue and green ssj’s now all this is coming to life 🥹 the story ,the team battle , the what if saga , gt ,. Beam struggles. The chi chi book commentary. I hope we still get to experience that . The game will probably remain the same but it will probably have actually destroyed grounds imagine the beam on earth and it destroys the earth and we get that rock map . I CANT WAIT .
