I just want to add more into this theory since i didnt explain much in the video. The twins were present in Khaenriah moments before the cataclysm started. So it's possible that the Khaenriah people have seen the twins wandering around that nation. And they created a humanoid that looks like Lumine. Maybe Gold is the one who created a replica of Lumine. Perhaps the Abyss Order needs Aether to join them so they're using a body that looks like his sibling so they can get him on their side. Also in the Caribert quest, we didnt actually experience our sibling's memory nor was that a dream, its theorized that the Sinner (who might be Irmin the King of Khaenriah) made Aether (from the present) meet Chlothar (in the past) as Lumine. Which gives the Sinner Time-related abilities and is able to access the Irminsul and hide the fate of Lumine. Wei☀ has a theory on this. As for Dainsleif, he probably doesn't know that the Abyss Lumine is fake... Or he knows, he knows she's fake but he didnt tell us about that because it's not the right time yet for us to know. Afterall in the Genshin Trailer, he told us "Step forth if you have understood the meaning of your journey. Defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are worthier than I to RESCUE HER" maybe he meant rescue the Real Lumine from the Unknown Goddess who trapped her in her cubes, and "the meaning of your journey" probably refers to "finding out that the Abyss Sibling is fake" considering that the Traveler is on their journey for a sole purpose: find their twin.
The concept of: "segments" was overwhelming with regards to dottore in the sumeru questline, and they were all deleted by the end so he could without risk of fighting with heavenly principles get the gnosis. Ultimately if only used for this one purpose: 'segments' would be a waste of a concept and narrative explanation time. Additionally it is possible that a segment had already usurped the real twin prior to the opening cutscene. And that the twin the traveler was trying to escape with was already a fake. side note: outlanders is not just used to refer to descenders but those of a different nation, hence terms like outriders etc. So if the gate in the opening was in the direct territory of celestia than anyone of the seven nations or other areas would be an outlander different theory: Paimon teaches the traveler the language of teyvat. so what were we, the player, hearing as the dialogue of the sustainer: a) omniscient 3rd translation (considering how much GI likes the concept of unreliable narrators, this is unlikely) b) the traveler has an ability to hear a translation of spoken words without knowing the language but the translation is based on concepts and not grammar b2) thus when sustainer said the word that traveler heard as 'mankind' the sustainer did not actually say mankind but perhaps 'sky people'
For her actually still being inside the cubes, it could be possible since the sustainer wouldn't have gotten to like properly do the things to the cube (if yk what I mean), since the traveller interrupted her. Personally I thought that the sustainer being interrupted was the reason she woke up earlier
I believe she's the real Lumine. How would you explain the scenario when Aether feels Lumine's presence in Storm terror, and also Lumine's memory in Sumeru if she's a fake one.
There's something that also proves that sibling is some kind of fake/illusion imho, since we see how she's "caged" by Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles in a cube but later we meet "Lumine" in game, and here comes the question: how exactly she got "freedom" if she couldn't defeat Sustainer even when there was also Aether? Also after re-watching opening cutscene for some time I get a question: why our twin is of "more importance" to Sustainer than the one we choose? After "concealing" twin in a cube she literally doens't care about even looking at traveller and instead focuses on "admiring" her cube where she keeps twin and even when she "blocked" our attack and could once again "chain" us via cubes she just "teleported" us to Teyvayt. Same as that she says "Arrogation of mankind ends now" which is mostly like that our "captured" sibling took some major role in "arrogation" which is probably "rebellion" against Celestia and our traveller is being the one who slept (means we are like "innocent") got just powers-sealed and teleported instead of supposedly more fitting "punishment" which happened to twin. Also it's kind of weird how "captured twin" ended up as "head of Order of Abyss" while we know that those are cursed Khaenrians who seek to take a revege on Celestia, meaning that Sustainer gives her enemy an actual leader, which is really dumb.
Oh wow, I didn't know about the beta explaining what happened to the traveler's sibling being like that until now. I remember Tighnari mentioning in the archon quest that the traveler's mental state is not in the best of shape. If the sibling was dead, perhaps all along the traveler was constantly in denial about their sibling's death. The traveler cannot accept their sibling's death to the point that they'd want to be together with someone that resembles their dead sibling, all because the traveler simply can't move on, and the constant denial is taking a toll on the traveler's mental state.
I think that Irminsul’s “recordings” are done after every Samsara, and a samsara’s end is marked by a cataclysmic event. The Abyss Twin has been recorded into Irminsul because they were active prior to the celestial nail being dropped on Khaenri’ah.
That actually a not a good move, Aether purpose in his journey is saving Lumine, now imagine you travel for almost 10 fcking years and suddenly find out Lumine is dead, what the point of this game? Thats just ridiculous
you all remember how Albedo had a "evil twin" back in I think 2.3, what if it was a similar case with Lumine also? Where the real lumine is missing but the fake lumine is just like the Albedo's "evil twin"
Here's my theory about this, with some bits and pieces brought by Wei. The traveler's sibling could indeed be a descender but as time passes, information is recorded about yourself. Also for a fact that, during the latest archon content, we learn that the traveler's sibling was in contact with a sinner. At the time, the abyss sibling hasn't had any pure motive and even Dainsleif said it himself that it appears this kind of thing was not discussed with the sibling. Keep in mind that at the time the abyss order was not yet established because we meet monsters that are in the current order, therefore it happened over the period of time.. And also something interesting, what are the chances that the sinner, the abyss sibling and Chlothar had seen, and even kneeled, was in fact king Deshret? In Sumeru we learn that he brought forbidden knowledge, thus corrupting the Irminsul and those he had cared about, bringing the Eleazar disease. Rukkhadevata even chained him, and made him into an octahedron(?). We see the same shape and also the chains in the latest patch, therefore, because this has happened hundreds of years ago, and it even being in Sumeru, the Irminsul should have started obtaining information for the abyss sibling, and with a clear goal, thus removing the status of a descender. To me personally, I identify a descender as a being out of this world that has only recently awoken(the traveler for example), and is not someone that has played part in the unfolding story way back then. Even Zhongli is not immune to Irminsul, but he's got a way to turn the tide around, that being, writing on a stone tablet. A stone tablet will not change its contents, however, is not immune to erosion or destruction.. Also said that he might have to think of a new way to record history. If the abyss sibling suddenly appeared in Khaenriah, that does count as a descender just like we suddenly appeared into the world, and also since Pierro is a survivor from the destruction of Khaenriah, he has knowledge of the sibling. People who have interacted with, are recorded in the history after all.. The other part I have a hunch that could also be the potential of the story is, like Wei said, a second timeline to replace the damage and destruction of the first timeline. We are playing with time itself, and in game, we change the time from day to night or night to day. Ei was not able to see the tree that Makoto planted, which, unlike her, her subjects were able to. We can go back in time and might even go into the future, so there is a possibility that the second who came, has set a copy of the first timeline somewhere before the aftermath has unfolded. Without us, it is most definite that the world is to be destroyed, and while we search for the sibling, we solve other issues. And the quote by Dain, challenging us at the end of the journey to see if we are worthy to reweave fate. Or what could be, that Pierro since he knows of the sibling, has made it clear that there is an information about them, thus not being a descender anymore for some other purposes that would require both siblings to be together.
I thought the Sinner was located somewhere in the underground mines of the Chasm or maybe somewhere else.. Also i think Zhongli cant be affected by Irminsul due to the fact that his character story implies that he remember Rukhadevatta, and theres theories going around that he's a descender or even a Shade
But the Traveler constantly has flashbacks of his sisters memories, its explained that because they're twins they have a strange connection. A fake Lumine probably wouldn't have the same connection to Aether that the real one does. I just find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone could ever just create a clone of a being that can use all of the elements and even the 'Light' element with power that rivals a god, Especially when the supposed 'Fake' possesses the exact same weapon as the original Lumine, with her special clothes that react to elements that are probably from a different world. She also has a mental link to Aether because they can share memories, something a fake probably couldn't do. I think its much more likely something happened to lumine that forcibly connected her to Teyvat, and now she cant leave the world until her mission is complete.
I will post this question here, too, because I hope someone will one day answer this question for me: Let's assume Aether is the traveler, Lumine is the Abyss twin. Both entered Teyvat, being so close, never were apart ever before (according to what Aether says to Paimon). Both unconscious first, but Lumine wakes up earlier, leaves Aether behind, entered Khaenriah, lived through all of that stuff.... and THEN she suddenly realises that she has a brother, simply wakes him up and tells him they need to leave? How does this make any sense? If they had been so close, if she knew where he was all of the time, if she could have woken him up so easily... why only then? Why not before so they could e.g. travel together? No matter the reason why they came to Teyvat - because they simply wanted to visit or they had been summoned or or or.... it does not make any sense that she left him behind. At least so far. Maybe some of you lore masters have an explanation.
Well your right, i see no reason for Lumine to wake up and leave her brother behind for more than 500+ years. In my point of view i guess that the Abyss Lumine is just a fake as i explained in the video :)
Option 1: Aether and Lumine are like real siblings. They aren't being lovey-dovey most of the time, and are perfectly fine spending time alone. Like, Lumine woke up first, looked around (for just 10 years) and was having fun, but when it became clear things are taking a bad turn, she hurried to wake up her brother (because they do care about each other). Option 2: Lumine woke up alone, and had to secure the cooperation of locals (people of Kaenri'ah) to find her brother or revive her brother. You know, like the Traveler became a Honorary Knight of Favonius after defeating a giant dragon, and only then they posted some missing person posters for him. She might have done something unwise in the process, causing the Cataclysm, but that is something she'll do for her brother. Option 3: Lumine's spirit alone was summoned to Teyvat through Rhinedottir's alchemy, which included creation of a new body for her. Which is why she was considered a native for a while, until her spirit transfigured her body into that of a Descender, fooling everybody and making Irminsul lose her tracks. Lumine's previous body is still lying in a meteorite somewhere near the meteorite from which Aether awoke.
so the time loop theory would actually make sense. when the time loops, lumine is already counted to be a part of this world, because she isnt the real lumine.
We would have to rule this theory out BC or the caribert quest. It clearly showed that lumine survived and witnessed the creation of the abyss and that clothar invited her into the abyss order. And it is also stated that dainsleiff who is kanreian was the abyss sibling’s travel partner for a while. But nevertheless good theory
Ah very interesting, maybe what Dain says at the end of the traveil chapter about saving "her" he means the true Lumine who is either imprisoned by Celestia or maybe even the Abyss Order? It could either be that the sinner with his powers made Lumine belong to this world in some shape or form or that it is in fact an artificial being maybe even made in the image of our traveller hence why clothar called them prince/princess of khaenriah.
i notice in the beginning of the game when sustainer comes out lumine was the first who talk than aether. For me that lumine say is very sussy in the beginning
I heard a theory about how The big tree thing has a cycle every time the cycle is completed everything and everybody gets sucked in and gets a constellation which makes them a part of the world that’s why the twin is recorded

Before starting, we already have puppets that look like other peeps. no different with the current sibling traveler. I am going to assume he is actually probably already left the world to another and that's how we will continue after tevat.
This theory has one flaw that is Our Sibling was originally summoned by khaenri'ahns while us the traveler was just traveling with their sibling that's why we don't count as a being of teyvat since there's a summoning taking place 500 yr ago specifically our sibling not both or traveler but sibling we most likely need to undo the conditions of summoning or will have to find who did the summoning and why specifically our sibling they also forgot for a long time if they even had a twin (this was implied in we will be reunited quest 1 where lumine watch over aether in storm terror's layer)
This is a good theory but The current lore that we have doesn’t really connect to this The best sibling was most likely manipulated by that Voice in the 3.5 archon quest it was one of her memories it’s possible that that voice could manipulate fate and the iruminsul tree as well adding false memories of khaenriah in her her khaenriah doesn’t really need a reason to make the abyss sibling so our sibling is most likely not fake it’s been a theory for quite a while but the current Lore that we have doesn’t connect to it
It is definitely possible that the abyss sibling that came back with clothar could be a copy which is why they radically change their attitude, but my theory is that the sinner literally takes control of the abyss twin or at least inserts false compulsions into their psyche. You dont see this in the archon quest because as a memory you dont see the abyss twin itself till you look in the mirror. The reason why they have records in irmunsul could be simply that imunsul was tampered with but it's hard to say as we cant see what irmunsul actually has recorded on the abyss twin. We're taking nahida's word for it but nahida is of this world and her memory can be tampered with in the same way. Another possibility is that the abyss twin IS from this world and the traveller is from another teyvat that is almost identical (parallel universe) The traveller may have just encountered the abyss twin in their world, finding out they had the same parents etc and THEN decided to travel the multiverse together when they were stopped by the sustainer.
The reason that we within that part understand what is happening as the emissaries of the abyss, is because it is like a lucid dream, or in other words we were not seeing the memory, it is possible that it did not happen exactly the same but if the same events occurred, looking for our companion, helping that guy, finding the sinner, seeing what happened to the hilichurs and finally realizing that they discovered him, seeing himself in the mirror was just chance or "destiny". Besides, I very much doubt that those of the order of the abimos know how to create clones since it was an exclusive Gold experiment, something that only worked with albedo, the other albedo was only a body without a soul that was filled by durin (at least that is believed), How is it possible that they managed to create a clone of the twin of the abyss with all their memories when there are no memories of them in the past, basically the irminsul only has since his appearance in Khaenria, he has nothing from his past.
Ok. So she was created by the Jester? He was a royal Madge and the ability to create puppets comes from Khaenri’ah. Also Dainslief knows and is always checking up on her. Whenever he pops up, she always becomes unconscious, faints or has visions. Then he interrogates her, on what Lumine sees and runs off with his intel to update the Jester. I believe she did not follow her programming and has become a loose cannon. Both the Jester and Dainslief are purebred Khaenri’ah and very proud and condescending. (Dainslief’s reaction to Kaeya who is only part Khaenri’ahn.) I believe since she lived with the Jester before Khaenri’ah fell, (he was in the process of creating the Fauti ) they created her and make her believe she was the Abyss princess.
I’m curious how you’d respond to events from the most recent chapter, in which aether relives memories from lumine during a ley line malfunction, as if even irmisul recognized them as siblings. This wouldn’t make sense if lumine were a homunculus, as they’d be unrelated. Also, why would the homunculus have any thoughts or feelings for aether? Why give it memory at all- and for that matter, why replicate lumine in the first place?
Perhaps the Abyss sibling is similar to The Doctor's clones. A snapshot of our sibling at their most loyal to Khaenriah. Still our sibling, but different mindset.
YESSS! because when we find her for the first time it is shown with her using a somewhat dark/ominous element rather than the light one. We know what the light element looks like electricity from starting cut scene
What if Unknown God merged the twins into one person, and the Abyss created a creature that appears to be the opposite of the one we chooses and Aether and Lumine are co-existing at the same place and time without realizing it.
I think that this theory is quite probable to be true. Anyway I don't think that is Khaenri'ah who created the sibling but is the sinner since is very possible that the "sinner" is the another descender (probably a looser) and is the power of the abyss. The sinner is probably much stronger than all archons and fatui harbingers combined so is much likely that he created the fake Lumine/Aether. Also I think that currently Teyvat is a simulation that was divided in 2, which one is Aether the traveler and the other Lumine as the traveler. An in each of those simulation have a fake sibling.
I've seen a vid made by Wei☀ who made a theory that the Sinner is Irmin (the king of Khaenriah) and it's pretty interesting, i recommend you check it out!
@@kim_genshin yeah I watch also a part of that video, however I think that the Sinner as well the heavenly principles are Emanators from a Aeon of Honkai Star Rails. I think that the Twins are also Emanators from an Aeon from Honkai Star Rails. The Emanators are far more powerful than any Archon or Harbinger.
One problem is that the unknown god is in teyvat. Therefore the real lumine would of already been there therefore be a descender. So that means that the first lumine would have to still be of that world in that moment or something happened. Ig it’s possible for the fatui (or abyss ig?) to tamper with the tree putting miss information into it, knowing full well that the traveller would come eventually. It would also explain that in the caliber quest (which u are They’re twin), you get the dialogue option of saying that u are friends/enemies with the gods implying that your twin has met them but none of the archons remember them.
Well, my guess is: I don't think the real sibling is dead, since the one who told us the real sibling was dead was the test game, not the released game, so maybe she's/he's in the cube while playing her sword, or she's under a curse of sleeping, only if she goes out she will wake up, and the abyss one was a puppet

Personally, I suspect the Sibling was never real. The Sibling is to the Traveler as Oz is to Fishl. And now that they've disconnected, the Traveler may have generated Paimon instead.
what if lumine is the 3rd descender that was turned.......... into gnosis for the 7 the real lumine , and abyss twin is copy since descender have unique properties after interacting with teyvat
Sorry if I missed it, but: 1) Why would anyone create Lumine's Khaenrian/Abyss Order clone? 2) I forgot, if we play Aether, who gets locked in that cube? And who gets to sleep for 500 years?
The Sibling (Lumine if you play Aether) gets locked in the cube first. They awaken shortly after Kaenri'ah falls, and get to witness the cubes flying around. Assuming they were not replaced by a clone at that moment. The Traveler (player character) gets locked second. They awaken 500 years later, at the start of the game. A clone of Lumine doesn't sound very useful. I mean, she would not be a Descender, would not possess a wisdom of a thousand worlds, and might not even be good in a fight. Unless you are Rhinedottir and know the secret technique to making people possess bodies you create. Because Elynas has memories before Rhinedottir gave him a body.
What if meeting lumine in the remains of war isnt the true step like remember In the 3.0 livestream they said the dendro cube was last piece of puzzle And consider lumine trapped in cube it is likely possible. The rest on my part is ,like you see unknown god or asmoday as we know use power and it was in block could be counted as manifestation of the combined elements And the sinner introduced in 3.5 was a god banished by them(celestials) for his research on creating the same or enhanced power,which wasnt controlable and so khanrians who were most advanced found the remains which might connected to his conciousness so they started to get samples and create humonculous to have that ability without being corrupted ,and as new enemies are being introduced of abyss like the heralds ,the 3.6 one which can hold more elements Since lumine suddenly appeared like aether and since their light element is quite similar to dark one of abyss they got the perfect vessel or dna sample to create one. And maybe all cubes around teyvat will v Combine and lead to lumine
yeah there must be some sort of stuff going on, since the world recorded her, she's not the real lumine (but then to you explain the "bond" between the two siblings) that or something led her to change and become part of this world??
Nice but there is a contradiction, in the trailer of the game, Abyss lumine perfectly remembers the fight with the unknown god, and in this fight Lumine was a descender or at least Outlander obviously so they are one and the same you could argue the copy has the memory of Lumine, but it could only have the memories prior it's creation, so it could not possibly have the memory of that fight if Lumine is then sealed or dead, so it seems it's indeed the real Lumine who is the leader of the abyss

Now that's you just theories something like that. Do you think that Paimon is from Khaenri'ah too? Like created the same was as Albedo? Because her cape looks just like the one Dainsleif wears. Also foul legacy Childe. Her designs also like a lot like the unknown god as if they are trying to make an alternative version of her or something. She knows so much about Teyvat but no one knows who she is? Do you think she was released the same day as the cataclysm? Hence why she was in the water drowning?
let's see 1) Lumine is the third descendant, the fatui does not believe it since it is registered, but Nahida herself in that same dialogue says that her registration begins in Khaenria, but she never says that that is where she was registered but that she only appeared, this literally confirms the fact that it is not a clone. 2) in the same section of dialogue when nahida is telling us what she found in the irminsul records, she herself says that something happened at the end of the trip, it is blurred and she does not know what happened at that moment, it is possible that this is the moment when it was registered in teyvat its history up to the moment in teyvat. 3) why was she searched? easy because that way the order can manipulate it easier, it would not be strange that those of the order along with the trip he made with Daindslief caused his judgment or his truth about teyvat to be distorted thinking that the gods have enslaved humans and that celestia is the villain, when it is the abyss that caused many of the tragedies and the moment that put the doomsday clock minutes from zero hour. 4) Why do the fatui not consider it? By the very fact that she is registered and she is one of the most important points for them, it is certain that she has some method to confirm that fact. 5) Khaenria should not have had time to create a clone, due to the fact that Albedo and the other albedo were secret projects to the point that it seems that neither the order nor Khaenria knew of their existence, only Oro, it also seems that Oro had already escaped from khaenria with much anticipation. Lastly and most importantly, the abyss and the knowledge of creating clones come from another world and if the world where the twins came from was destroyed and only "golden sands" remain exactly the same as the Sumeru desert that was caused by abyssal energies It would not be strange that the abyss had absorbed all the knowledge of the world of the twins and this is really perfect clones or rather perfect humans almost gods.
I mean- didn’t Lumine already travel the entire nation of Teyvat? That would probably be why irminsul has information on her. (Not to protest or anything)
For me I had this theory where Lumine and aether Are Not siblings But the Same Person from different dimensions The abyss twin being from teyvat and the traveler (descender) being from an different dimension (I have Not watched the video yet) I feel like the introduction of genshin (the two Stars failing) is The descender twin followed by paimon- which would explain where Paimon came from And another random theory I’ve been thinking about (yes it’s going to sound strange as hell) Is that paimon is the descenders twin sword 💀
Good theory (saw this 3 weeks after this released *also found ur channel*) the pro is that if this is true and maybe gold made fake lumine it would mean fake lumine is albedo's sibling. However, the con is that the lore we got in 3.5 had disproved this. The traveler's sibling is experiencing false memories of khaenri'ah and my theory is that someone tampered with irminsul and made the sibling be known as part of this world, which is why pierro nvr labeled them as a descender but u know he did with the traveler. I also think that, after the sibling got trapped in the cube after she hurdled us somewhere in teyvat she might of hurdled the traveler's sibling somewhere else, and during that time, the traveler was in slumber for 500 years due to them being trapped. The sibling was the only one awake during that time after the cataclysm, and traveling around with dainsleif. my theory on the loom of fate is, if they can use it to go back in time it would mean that they are probably trying to go back in time to bring back the homeland essentially trying to save it. But they are messing with fate imo its like "never tamper with the past" type deal.
What if the khaenrians found lumine's prison and set her free, and only her, not knowing or the other sibling. But in doing so they connect her to irminsul, or she herself connect to it to hide from the sustainer ? And then later lumine manage to find aether or get enough power to set him free, but to get both Their power back she need to use abyss energy while aether need to gather elements.
Well I think she ( Abyss Lumine )is dead. Because if the Khaenri'an created her then they have to see her. Like how would they knows what she looks like If they never met from the first place?
Lol....no one knows the genshin theory except the devs themselves...you all can try your own theories though As of now , my theory is Lumine suddenly appeared in Kanrieh....she saw the cataclysm....then she decided to join the Abby's to take down the Gods....well....in caribert's quest....Chlothar calls us "Princess of Kanriah" which means....she has taken over Abby's and Kanriah....and now also...she might still be the ruler.... (Since Nahida also said "your siblings suddenly appeared in Kanrieh"...she said *suddenly*.... meaning the twin came out of nowhere) My question and thought is 1. Did the Unknown God send our siblings through the same journey that we are having long ago to the siblings?( Using some magic related to time) OR 2. Was she sent into the Kanrieh, she witnessed the cataclysm and decided to join the Abby's... Cause in the "we will be reunited" quest....Lumine already said "i have gone through this world" ...what does that mean? Did she already travelled tevyet before us? If she did....then that makes sense....
Also off topic but if the Primordial and Paimon theory is true then how did Paimon know what hilichurls are? Since I heard some people say that Paimon was thrown into the ocean for years after draining all of her power The primordials existed and was defeated before Khaenriah right? Sorry I don’t read genshin lore much but I wanted to hear your opinion on this
My guess is: That lumine was born in tevyat BUT She was somehow seperated from tevyat and went into aether's word And she was somehow able to weild light element Maybe everyone can do it Idk this was what i thought
I think this theory has been debunked because we hear straight up our chosen sibling say brother/sister and 2 This is the alpha abyss posing as the abyss prints/princess but that is their human form. The twins were present in Khaenriah moments before the cataclysm started. So it's possible that the Khaenriah people have seen the twins wandering around that nation. And they created a humanoid that looks like Lumine's body. Perhaps Khaenriah needs the traveler to join them so they're using a body that looks like his sibling so they can get the traveler on their side
I don't think cubes destroyed Kaenri'ah. They did not look like an attack at all. Most likely, the Sustainer used the cubes to pull people out of it. Because that's what cubes do - imprison people inside of them, to be released at a later date. With Kaenri'ah on fire and full of immortals, something needed to be done before things got even crazier.
If ur theory is correct, then there's also (from my speculations) a chance that lumine could be the unknown god, and she's was trying to stop the fake lumine from her mission. Just a speculation lol

Unless the Sustainer is not Asmodeus, one of the 4 shades of the Primordial one, and is the Second who Came, and Aether and Lumine are not siblings but one and the same, and Aether is actually the Primordial one who lost against the Second who came. Just kidding 😂 Or heres another hypothetical circumstnce, Aether being the Primordial one, Lumine, the shade of Life, while the other 3 siblings ( other remaining shades of Time, Death and Space) have yet to be found, and have been erased from Aethers memory upon separation minus Lumine (Life shade). Thise three will be new objectives to seek besides Lumine, in places like Natlan, Fontaine and Schnezniah, the remaining unreleased territories 😉 Just remember, Irminsul and its contents can be altered, so its not 100% accurate, therefore, anything related to Lumine may not be entirely true. It might be possible that unknown goat is protecting those land but after capturing them...later she got betrayed and she probably also captured a evil goat or smth before which looks like Paimon...it might be possible that lumine soul has been altered and modified...or probably Paimon has soul of lumine and that evil goat...

It's actually the opposite, traveler is a replica and abyss sibling is real deal and in the end it's the fake that comes on top. So it was in NieR Replica and so it shall be in Genshin.

Also in the Caribert quest, we didnt actually experience our sibling's memory nor was that a dream, its theorized that the Sinner (who might be Irmin the King of Khaenriah) made Aether (from the present) meet Chlothar (in the past) as Lumine. Which gives the Sinner Time-related abilities and is able to access the Irminsul and hide the fate of Lumine. Wei☀ has a theory on this.
As for Dainsleif, he probably doesn't know that the Abyss Lumine is fake... Or he knows, he knows she's fake but he didnt tell us about that because it's not the right time yet for us to know. Afterall in the Genshin Trailer, he told us "Step forth if you have understood the meaning of your journey. Defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are worthier than I to RESCUE HER" maybe he meant rescue the Real Lumine from the Unknown Goddess who trapped her in her cubes, and "the meaning of your journey" probably refers to "finding out that the Abyss Sibling is fake" considering that the Traveler is on their journey for a sole purpose: find their twin.

The concept of: "segments" was overwhelming with regards to dottore in the sumeru questline, and they were all deleted by the end so he could without risk of fighting with heavenly principles get the gnosis.
Ultimately if only used for this one purpose: 'segments' would be a waste of a concept and narrative explanation time.
Additionally it is possible that a segment had already usurped the real twin prior to the opening cutscene. And that the twin the traveler was trying to escape with was already a fake.
side note:
outlanders is not just used to refer to descenders but those of a different nation, hence terms like outriders etc. So if the gate in the opening was in the direct territory of celestia than anyone of the seven nations or other areas would be an outlander
different theory:
Paimon teaches the traveler the language of teyvat.
so what were we, the player, hearing as the dialogue of the sustainer:
a) omniscient 3rd translation (considering how much GI likes the concept of unreliable narrators, this is unlikely)
b) the traveler has an ability to hear a translation of spoken words without knowing the language but the translation is based on concepts and not grammar
b2) thus when sustainer said the word that traveler heard as 'mankind' the sustainer did not actually say mankind but perhaps 'sky people'
For her actually still being inside the cubes, it could be possible since the sustainer wouldn't have gotten to like properly do the things to the cube (if yk what I mean), since the traveller interrupted her.

There's something that also proves that sibling is some kind of fake/illusion imho, since we see how she's "caged" by Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles in a cube but later we meet "Lumine" in game, and here comes the question: how exactly she got "freedom" if she couldn't defeat Sustainer even when there was also Aether? Also after re-watching opening cutscene for some time I get a question: why our twin is of "more importance" to Sustainer than the one we choose? After "concealing" twin in a cube she literally doens't care about even looking at traveller and instead focuses on "admiring" her cube where she keeps twin and even when she "blocked" our attack and could once again "chain" us via cubes she just "teleported" us to Teyvayt. Same as that she says "Arrogation of mankind ends now" which is mostly like that our "captured" sibling took some major role in "arrogation" which is probably "rebellion" against Celestia and our traveller is being the one who slept (means we are like "innocent") got just powers-sealed and teleported instead of supposedly more fitting "punishment" which happened to twin. Also it's kind of weird how "captured twin" ended up as "head of Order of Abyss" while we know that those are cursed Khaenrians who seek to take a revege on Celestia, meaning that Sustainer gives her enemy an actual leader, which is really dumb.

I remember Tighnari mentioning in the archon quest that the traveler's mental state is not in the best of shape. If the sibling was dead, perhaps all along the traveler was constantly in denial about their sibling's death. The traveler cannot accept their sibling's death to the point that they'd want to be together with someone that resembles their dead sibling, all because the traveler simply can't move on, and the constant denial is taking a toll on the traveler's mental state.
Id like to point out that this slumber the god throws Aether in might be that everlasting Samsara that the Irminsul is operating.

I think that Irminsul’s “recordings” are done after every Samsara, and a samsara’s end is marked by a cataclysmic event. The Abyss Twin has been recorded into Irminsul because they were active prior to the celestial nail being dropped on Khaenri’ah.

Here's my theory about this, with some bits and pieces brought by Wei.
The traveler's sibling could indeed be a descender but as time passes, information is recorded about yourself. Also for a fact that, during the latest archon content, we learn that the traveler's sibling was in contact with a sinner. At the time, the abyss sibling hasn't had any pure motive and even Dainsleif said it himself that it appears this kind of thing was not discussed with the sibling.
Keep in mind that at the time the abyss order was not yet established because we meet monsters that are in the current order, therefore it happened over the period of time.. And also something interesting, what are the chances that the sinner, the abyss sibling and Chlothar had seen, and even kneeled, was in fact king Deshret? In Sumeru we learn that he brought forbidden knowledge, thus corrupting the Irminsul and those he had cared about, bringing the Eleazar disease. Rukkhadevata even chained him, and made him into an octahedron(?). We see the same shape and also the chains in the latest patch, therefore, because this has happened hundreds of years ago, and it even being in Sumeru, the Irminsul should have started obtaining information for the abyss sibling, and with a clear goal, thus removing the status of a descender. To me personally, I identify a descender as a being out of this world that has only recently awoken(the traveler for example), and is not someone that has played part in the unfolding story way back then. Even Zhongli is not immune to Irminsul, but he's got a way to turn the tide around, that being, writing on a stone tablet. A stone tablet will not change its contents, however, is not immune to erosion or destruction.. Also said that he might have to think of a new way to record history.
If the abyss sibling suddenly appeared in Khaenriah, that does count as a descender just like we suddenly appeared into the world, and also since Pierro is a survivor from the destruction of Khaenriah, he has knowledge of the sibling. People who have interacted with, are recorded in the history after all..
The other part I have a hunch that could also be the potential of the story is, like Wei said, a second timeline to replace the damage and destruction of the first timeline.
We are playing with time itself, and in game, we change the time from day to night or night to day. Ei was not able to see the tree that Makoto planted, which, unlike her, her subjects were able to. We can go back in time and might even go into the future, so there is a possibility that the second who came, has set a copy of the first timeline somewhere before the aftermath has unfolded. Without us, it is most definite that the world is to be destroyed, and while we search for the sibling, we solve other issues. And the quote by Dain, challenging us at the end of the journey to see if we are worthy to reweave fate.
Or what could be, that Pierro since he knows of the sibling, has made it clear that there is an information about them, thus not being a descender anymore for some other purposes that would require both siblings to be together.
I thought the Sinner was located somewhere in the underground mines of the Chasm or maybe somewhere else.. Also i think Zhongli cant be affected by Irminsul due to the fact that his character story implies that he remember Rukhadevatta, and theres theories going around that he's a descender or even a Shade
But the Traveler constantly has flashbacks of his sisters memories, its explained that because they're twins they have a strange connection. A fake Lumine probably wouldn't have the same connection to Aether that the real one does.
I just find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone could ever just create a clone of a being that can use all of the elements and even the 'Light' element with power that rivals a god, Especially when the supposed 'Fake' possesses the exact same weapon as the original Lumine, with her special clothes that react to elements that are probably from a different world.
She also has a mental link to Aether because they can share memories, something a fake probably couldn't do.
I think its much more likely something happened to lumine that forcibly connected her to Teyvat, and now she cant leave the world until her mission is complete.
What if the real Lumine transformed into or reincarnated as paimon

Let's assume Aether is the traveler, Lumine is the Abyss twin. Both entered Teyvat, being so close, never were apart ever before (according to what Aether says to Paimon). Both unconscious first, but Lumine wakes up earlier, leaves Aether behind, entered Khaenriah, lived through all of that stuff.... and THEN she suddenly realises that she has a brother, simply wakes him up and tells him they need to leave? How does this make any sense? If they had been so close, if she knew where he was all of the time, if she could have woken him up so easily... why only then? Why not before so they could e.g. travel together? No matter the reason why they came to Teyvat - because they simply wanted to visit or they had been summoned or or or.... it does not make any sense that she left him behind. At least so far. Maybe some of you lore masters have an explanation.
Well your right, i see no reason for Lumine to wake up and leave her brother behind for more than 500+ years. In my point of view i guess that the Abyss Lumine is just a fake as i explained in the video :)

Option 1: Aether and Lumine are like real siblings. They aren't being lovey-dovey most of the time, and are perfectly fine spending time alone. Like, Lumine woke up first, looked around (for just 10 years) and was having fun, but when it became clear things are taking a bad turn, she hurried to wake up her brother (because they do care about each other).
Option 2: Lumine woke up alone, and had to secure the cooperation of locals (people of Kaenri'ah) to find her brother or revive her brother. You know, like the Traveler became a Honorary Knight of Favonius after defeating a giant dragon, and only then they posted some missing person posters for him.
She might have done something unwise in the process, causing the Cataclysm, but that is something she'll do for her brother.
Option 3: Lumine's spirit alone was summoned to Teyvat through Rhinedottir's alchemy, which included creation of a new body for her. Which is why she was considered a native for a while, until her spirit transfigured her body into that of a Descender, fooling everybody and making Irminsul lose her tracks. Lumine's previous body is still lying in a meteorite somewhere near the meteorite from which Aether awoke.
so the time loop theory would actually make sense. when the time loops, lumine is already counted to be a part of this world, because she isnt the real lumine.
We would have to rule this theory out BC or the caribert quest. It clearly showed that lumine survived and witnessed the creation of the abyss and that clothar invited her into the abyss order. And it is also stated that dainsleiff who is kanreian was the abyss sibling’s travel partner for a while. But nevertheless good theory

Ah very interesting, maybe what Dain says at the end of the traveil chapter about saving "her" he means the true Lumine who is either imprisoned by Celestia or maybe even the Abyss Order? It could either be that the sinner with his powers made Lumine belong to this world in some shape or form or that it is in fact an artificial being maybe even made in the image of our traveller hence why clothar called them prince/princess of khaenriah.
i notice in the beginning of the game when sustainer comes out lumine was the first who talk than aether. For me that lumine say is very sussy in the beginning

This theory has one flaw that is Our Sibling was originally summoned by khaenri'ahns while us the traveler was just traveling with their sibling that's why we don't count as a being of teyvat since there's a summoning taking place 500 yr ago specifically our sibling not both or traveler but sibling we most likely need to undo the conditions of summoning or will have to find who did the summoning and why specifically our sibling they also forgot for a long time if they even had a twin (this was implied in we will be reunited quest 1 where lumine watch over aether in storm terror's layer)
This is a good theory but The current lore that we have doesn’t really connect to this The best sibling was most likely manipulated by that Voice in the 3.5 archon quest it was one of her memories it’s possible that that voice could manipulate fate and the iruminsul tree as well adding false memories of khaenriah in her her khaenriah doesn’t really need a reason to make the abyss sibling so our sibling is most likely not fake it’s been a theory for quite a while but the current Lore that we have doesn’t connect to it

It is definitely possible that the abyss sibling that came back with clothar could be a copy which is why they radically change their attitude, but my theory is that the sinner literally takes control of the abyss twin or at least inserts false compulsions into their psyche. You dont see this in the archon quest because as a memory you dont see the abyss twin itself till you look in the mirror. The reason why they have records in irmunsul could be simply that imunsul was tampered with but it's hard to say as we cant see what irmunsul actually has recorded on the abyss twin. We're taking nahida's word for it but nahida is of this world and her memory can be tampered with in the same way.
Another possibility is that the abyss twin IS from this world and the traveller is from another teyvat that is almost identical (parallel universe) The traveller may have just encountered the abyss twin in their world, finding out they had the same parents etc and THEN decided to travel the multiverse together when they were stopped by the sustainer.
The reason that we within that part understand what is happening as the emissaries of the abyss, is because it is like a lucid dream, or in other words we were not seeing the memory, it is possible that it did not happen exactly the same but if the same events occurred, looking for our companion, helping that guy, finding the sinner, seeing what happened to the hilichurs and finally realizing that they discovered him, seeing himself in the mirror was just chance or "destiny".
Besides, I very much doubt that those of the order of the abimos know how to create clones since it was an exclusive Gold experiment, something that only worked with albedo, the other albedo was only a body without a soul that was filled by durin (at least that is believed), How is it possible that they managed to create a clone of the twin of the abyss with all their memories when there are no memories of them in the past, basically the irminsul only has since his appearance in Khaenria, he has nothing from his past.
Ok. So she was created by the Jester? He was a royal Madge and the ability to create puppets comes from Khaenri’ah. Also Dainslief knows and is always checking up on her. Whenever he pops up, she always becomes unconscious, faints or has visions. Then he interrogates her, on what Lumine sees and runs off with his intel to update the Jester. I believe she did not follow her programming and has become a loose cannon. Both the Jester and Dainslief are purebred Khaenri’ah and very proud and condescending. (Dainslief’s reaction to Kaeya who is only part Khaenri’ahn.) I believe since she lived with the Jester before Khaenri’ah fell, (he was in the process of creating the Fauti ) they created her and make her believe she was the Abyss princess.

I’m curious how you’d respond to events from the most recent chapter, in which aether relives memories from lumine during a ley line malfunction, as if even irmisul recognized them as siblings. This wouldn’t make sense if lumine were a homunculus, as they’d be unrelated. Also, why would the homunculus have any thoughts or feelings for aether? Why give it memory at all- and for that matter, why replicate lumine in the first place?

I think that this theory is quite probable to be true. Anyway I don't think that is Khaenri'ah who created the sibling but is the sinner since is very possible that the "sinner" is the another descender (probably a looser) and is the power of the abyss. The sinner is probably much stronger than all archons and fatui harbingers combined so is much likely that he created the fake Lumine/Aether. Also I think that currently Teyvat is a simulation that was divided in 2, which one is Aether the traveler and the other Lumine as the traveler. An in each of those simulation have a fake sibling.
I've seen a vid made by Wei☀ who made a theory that the Sinner is Irmin (the king of Khaenriah) and it's pretty interesting, i recommend you check it out!

I think that the Twins are also Emanators from an Aeon from Honkai Star Rails. The Emanators are far more powerful than any Archon or Harbinger.

1) Why would anyone create Lumine's Khaenrian/Abyss Order clone?
2) I forgot, if we play Aether, who gets locked in that cube? And who gets to sleep for 500 years?
This theory uses Aether as the traveler therefore hes the one asleep for 500 years and lumine the one trapped
The Sibling (Lumine if you play Aether) gets locked in the cube first. They awaken shortly after Kaenri'ah falls, and get to witness the cubes flying around. Assuming they were not replaced by a clone at that moment.
The Traveler (player character) gets locked second. They awaken 500 years later, at the start of the game.
A clone of Lumine doesn't sound very useful. I mean, she would not be a Descender, would not possess a wisdom of a thousand worlds, and might not even be good in a fight.
Unless you are Rhinedottir and know the secret technique to making people possess bodies you create. Because Elynas has memories before Rhinedottir gave him a body.

Nice but there is a contradiction, in the trailer of the game, Abyss lumine perfectly remembers the fight with the unknown god, and in this fight Lumine was a descender or at least Outlander obviously so they are one and the same
you could argue the copy has the memory of Lumine, but it could only have the memories prior it's creation, so it could not possibly have the memory of that fight if Lumine is then sealed or dead, so it seems it's indeed the real Lumine who is the leader of the abyss

1) Lumine is the third descendant, the fatui does not believe it since it is registered, but Nahida herself in that same dialogue says that her registration begins in Khaenria, but she never says that that is where she was registered but that she only appeared, this literally confirms the fact that it is not a clone.
2) in the same section of dialogue when nahida is telling us what she found in the irminsul records, she herself says that something happened at the end of the trip, it is blurred and she does not know what happened at that moment, it is possible that this is the moment when it was registered in teyvat its history up to the moment in teyvat.
3) why was she searched? easy because that way the order can manipulate it easier, it would not be strange that those of the order along with the trip he made with Daindslief caused his judgment or his truth about teyvat to be distorted thinking that the gods have enslaved humans and that celestia is the villain, when it is the abyss that caused many of the tragedies and the moment that put the doomsday clock minutes from zero hour.

Good theory (saw this 3 weeks after this released *also found ur channel*) the pro is that if this is true and maybe gold made fake lumine it would mean fake lumine is albedo's sibling. However, the con is that the lore we got in 3.5 had disproved this. The traveler's sibling is experiencing false memories of khaenri'ah and my theory is that someone tampered with irminsul and made the sibling be known as part of this world, which is why pierro nvr labeled them as a descender but u know he did with the traveler. I also think that, after the sibling got trapped in the cube after she hurdled us somewhere in teyvat she might of hurdled the traveler's sibling somewhere else, and during that time, the traveler was in slumber for 500 years due to them being trapped. The sibling was the only one awake during that time after the cataclysm, and traveling around with dainsleif.
my theory on the loom of fate is, if they can use it to go back in time it would mean that they are probably trying to go back in time to bring back the homeland essentially trying to save it. But they are messing with fate imo its like "never tamper with the past" type deal.
What if the khaenrians found lumine's prison and set her free, and only her, not knowing or the other sibling. But in doing so they connect her to irminsul, or she herself connect to it to hide from the sustainer ? And then later lumine manage to find aether or get enough power to set him free, but to get both Their power back she need to use abyss energy while aether need to gather elements.

Lumine suddenly appeared in Kanrieh....she saw the cataclysm....then she decided to join the Abby's to take down the Gods....well....in caribert's quest....Chlothar calls us "Princess of Kanriah" which means....she has taken over Abby's and Kanriah....and now also...she might still be the ruler....
(Since Nahida also said "your siblings suddenly appeared in Kanrieh"...she said *suddenly*.... meaning the twin came out of nowhere)

1. Did the Unknown God send our siblings through the same journey that we are having long ago to the siblings?( Using some magic related to time)

The twins were present in Khaenriah moments before the cataclysm started. So it's possible that the Khaenriah people have seen the twins wandering around that nation. And they created a humanoid that looks like Lumine's body.
Perhaps Khaenriah needs the traveler to join them so they're using a body that looks like his sibling so they can get the traveler on their side

I don't think cubes destroyed Kaenri'ah. They did not look like an attack at all.
Most likely, the Sustainer used the cubes to pull people out of it. Because that's what cubes do - imprison people inside of them, to be released at a later date.
With Kaenri'ah on fire and full of immortals, something needed to be done before things got even crazier.

Thise three will be new objectives to seek besides Lumine, in places like Natlan, Fontaine and Schnezniah, the remaining unreleased territories 😉
