I finally decided to click on one of the non-Artifexian world-building videos in my recommended feed. Then this video starts and I'm like, "wait, I know this guy!" LOL
Edgar is an awesome guy and puts out some of the best worldbuilding videos, many of which have really made me think and redevelop some aspects for my book series.
I'm not good at math, at all, worst subject in school. But I kind of saw the beauty in those equations, how they were connected to each other. It was neat.
Very interesting talk. In a binary system, wouldn't the temperature vary wildly depending on where the planet was in relation to the Suns? Seasons change on Earth severely just based on it's tilt.
misomiso I guess that depends on how far apart the two stars. and how well or not the atmosphere insulates the planet. I think the day and night cycle would cause more problems becuase of the lack of clouds to trap in heat similar to desserts here extreme highs in the day extreme lows at night? but like you said tilt effects the seasons far more than distant from the stars
But wouldn't Tatooine be an uninhabitable, macrocosmically inconsequential wasteland if we're being realistic here? Single biome man. SINGLE BIOME. Argh. Then again. I don't know what else he would have chosen.
I think there is some liberties one can take when worldbuilding a fictional world. You put in the realism so that way what you create is relatable and more or less realistic for your audience so they can understand it.

Hey, Artifexian. 😄
Yep, he seems familiar to me too.

YESSSSSSS! It's Edgar from Artifexian! On TED! In a Veritasium T-Shirt! The end is nigh!
Best weekend ever discussing space exploration and star trek with a NASA scientist.
Go Artifexian!
This is the best worldbuilding video I have ever seen.
Robert Beatty check out his channel
his channel is incredible, it completely opened my eyes to the vast possibilities of worldbuilding

As an Udder, I'm really encouraged by him and his videos.

Oh it's artifexian! I got here from the reddit post.
Today I learned that TED uses potatoes as microphones
That was a pretty good talk.

The stars look so cute ..... HAHAHA
AAAAHHH ARTIFEXIAN!
oohhhh that's how you get the year. ive just been using arbitrary values
Would this equal 1-9 if 1.2 changed in unison to 1 because what's 82.2'2 even? Squaring the entire equation?
When I think I have a unique idea
I bet this guy plays dungeons and dragons. 👍🏻
I HOPE this guy plays dungeons and dragons.
You're right. He does have a very creative mind. He probably has dabbled in something as creative as D&D. =]
he hasn't exactly said on his youtube channel.
He probably DMs or GMs
Any time cgp grey was shown, my attention was immedeately drawn away from everything else.
