Chancellor-Elect, Joan T.A. Gabel - Message to Pitt Family

Joan T.A. Gabel, president and chief executive of the University of Minnesota System and Twin Cities campus, will become the University of Pittsburgh’s 19th chancellor, Pitt’s Board of Trustees announced Monday.
Gabel will be the first woman to lead the University since its founding in 1787.

Welcome Chancellor Gabel! At Minnesota, she is known for her apathy towards students, her conflict of interests, and her union bustering. She will feel at home at Pitt. Also with her pay of $950,000 (without bonuses), she will make atleast 35 times the median administrator's pay. H2P!

A lot of continuity to be expected but do expect even bigger things for PITT. Expect continuity with innovation as every Chancellor wants to make their mark. Gable continues consecutive great leadership that I have witnessed from Nordenberg and Gallagher, who have set the stage for excellence in every area. Now Gable, the first women, a most qualified women, gets to run with the ball; indeed exciting for PITT followers.
