Hi Mike, quick question not Pace pro related (as I am no pro) I want to by myself a new Nexus 4, I have a Nexus 3 in a 9m. Do you think that the next size up should be a 12m or could a 13,5m work? I am just scared that the gap between a 9 and 13.5 might be too big. I can afford no more than a 2 kite quiver. Second question how would you compare the pull per size of a nexus vs XR. Thanks heaps
Hey man I’m not Mike but I would recommend the 13.5 only if you are heavy ( 85 + kg) otherwise stick to a 12m ( easier to sell and you can ride with any wind that you would on a 13.5
I own a 13,5m nexus 3 and a 8m xr7 and while both have a big windrange I'd rather have a 9m xr pro (which I'm ordering) than a smaller nexus. Nexus has s lot less pull than xr (2sizes) I can kite in 25 knots on that thing no problem and I'm 80kg, also it is still fast enough to pull a loop. It is very lofty thanks to size, awesome for progression.
Haha blame Canada, love the content bro! I’m nearly sold on the XR Pro 7m or 8m. Right now my main quiver consists of 2023 Orbit in size 8m & 11m. I know I would absolutely love the XR Pro since I had a chance to demo the XR8 this season and I was literally blown away with how easy it was to jump even with bad technique. I would love the aluula for its rigidity, lightness, strength, & water resistance because I drop my kite often when trying new tricks. I’ve inverted my orbits on a couple of occasions, I wonder…does the aluula prevent the XR Pro from inverting? Obviously the price is a huge consideration as you could probably get 2 brand new kites for the price of 1 aluula, but at least you have a better wind range to ride in with the aluula. I’m saving $ for now, maybe by the time the XR Pro 2 comes out I’ll pick one up. Big ups! ✌️
If you are crashing your kites often.. i would be going for cheaper options, not more expensive lol. Inverts are bad no matter what the material as you have messed things up enough for them to be putting stress the opposite of what the stitches should be handling so a rigid frame might be even more damaging. More PSI in those orbits may help.
So Core copied Duotone's +5 year old technology, slap 1000€ on top of the Evo Dlab price and say it's worth it? Doesn't quite make sense to me. Been riding for some years and tried different brands, and Duotone is the leading brand at the moment. Still want to try Core, what "normal" kite do you recomend?
Duotone didn’t have Aluula 5 years ago and didn’t even invent it, so no not really duotne technology, also go on kitemana and compare the price of evo d-lab to same size pace pro, and the duotone is actually more expensive, not €1000 cheaper, so I don’t know where you are getting that from, and if you have seen a small to medium size evo d-lab that’s been used for a few months in strong wind it looks like you have put it in a tumble dryer, trailing edge even falling to bits on some I have seen, whereas core xr pro’s still look brand new after 10 months use, the build quality is just not there for duotone, which is terrible for kites that expensive.
now I know its not my riding but my kite xD my best quiver would be gong 12-10-8 so I can still keep my kidney.. in all seriosness I am devoted to flysurfer because I think they have good development team, reliable kites and they release a new gen kite when there is noticable difference from previous gen - not like the trend to have atleast 1 new kite a year similar to iphones without noticable difference just make it more expensive. I know CORE is a very good kite in all aspects with good quality and generaly better durability than duotone or north, but the price is not accesible for normal people... I mean 4k for kite+bar setup, than you proobably need a new board too... I can sacrifice my loops for that.. Its like in cycling when you don't need a 10k bike with wireless shifters to ride for fun but a 1k bike will do just fine.. but there are not many kites in that range.. aniway I hope the athletes get some more funds of this high margin kite saga.. and no its not just aluula that everyone is talking about how pricey it is... because 6m is just 650€ cheaper than a 12m that should have twice the amount of material(and we know it is still profit on material for 12m)... and if you then take full 650€ worth of expensive magic material out of 6m price it is till over 2k€ for a 6m - which is still very expensive but without aluula... do we need to go to the bar? I mean for that price it could be hand forged by Giel himself..
I don't understand why, in the kite industry, people don't start their video saying if they are affiliated to the brand they are talking about or if they are sponsored by any brand mentioned in the video. That is simply illegal. I don't that, because this is a niche market, we should apply what is done in other market (let's take photography gear reviews for example). Anyway I love your videos but more transparency would be welcomed
Markets most likely regulate themselves...if they will sell, they were right, simply as that...if I was the one calling the shots...I appreciate much more North or Harlem strategy not to follow Aluula (for now) and try to make a performance kite at a reasonable price...considering that 85% of the market won't be able to fully appreciate the differences (myself included)...I hope, for myself, that they will change course and start making affordable kites for the avarage doe who can do few loops variations but doesn't need to win comps...
You give hadlow a plastic bag and he will still be better than all of you. Why the hell would anyone pay this much for a kite. I ride a modern C and can jump and loop just as well as the next. There's always gona be a bigger fish, jumping looping better than me. Im old, I care very little for high performance kites. 90 per cent of kiters cant even do a basic surface pass, why would i pay 3000 bucks for a kite that i crash trying a back to wrapped.
Yooo! 😛 Have my videos have helped you on your kitesurfing journey? Then please consider supporting my Big Air Kite Shop: bigairkite.com/products/core-pace-pro-kite
Anyway: a kite that is supposed to use with a Y on the bar, ( like my d lab neo) should not used with a low V !!!!!! And vise versa. You change thecshape of the kite with Y and V connection. What is giving you bad results . By the way . These Duotone D labs are so sick… ☝️👍🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾who can afford go for it . I love them- had Fone bandit and ozone Reo! It is another level . Can not compare even
I would not pay 2k for this. Around 2008 I got my hands on an OEM price listing (producer to company), you would fall off the chair, I did. Even if we take the time, inflation, and you name it into consideration, kite stuff is a scam, and it will go on like this, if we allow it. My 2 cents.
My Ventum kites are still able doing a lot more kiteboarding tricks /specials then i ever can dream of ..... ( that's probably the same for 95% of all kitesurfers 😎 ) € 3000 a kite and € 800 a bar? 🤪 It's an insult for the real kitesurfspirit.
3000€ No it's not worth it, costs 4000€ with new mandatory bar 🤪 kite industry ist killing the sport like windsurf industry does... i switched to GONG "...85g/m2 UPE Aramid present on the leading edge and the struts..." "10 m² for 1345€ Ayto Aramid DP Team Series" half price double fun for the weekend kite warriors 😉
Like everything no way I’m paying 3000 for a kite and 1000 more for a bar then you use it and a day later you have 3 and have to sell your car. ALUULA is very good I have two dlabs they are hard to beat they make me better when they fall apart I will just buy more or a core who knows ALUULA is a quantum love it hate it other than cost you lose nothing
Hey Marco, I'm curious what you mean by 'need'? Of course no one 'needs' these kites. But high level riders certainly do benefit from them. Don't listen to me if you don't want to. But do listen to the people who have bought Evo D-Labs or the Ozone Vortex. The reviews are stellar and they come from regular, unsponsored kiters.
Hey@@gethighwithmike , I have actually seen a good share of intermediate/advanced riders (i.e., that can do loops with some simple rotations) destroying Evo D-labs because they kept crashing them because they couldn't control them properly (Evo D-labs might not be the most durable kites around..) Generally, unless you have the skills to fully enjoy an advanced piece of gear, it doesn't make too much sense buying it. I personally don't like the industry trend to try selling 3k kites, I see way too many people on Aluula kites that bought them thinking they will help them progressing faster in big air, but in the meanwhile they can barely jump. They probably don't even appreciate the gear they're on. There's the risk the average price of kite will increase too much, preventing the industry from reaching more people this way. Of course, this is just my personal opinion!
You're sponsored and have dealership with Core. This video is BS but thanks for sharing specs. Also, 3k is fucking stupid amount of money for the same kite that you can buy with an other brand for €800 Also, there are ZERO new design features and nothing new about this kite. Obviously the price is a huge consideration as you could probably get 2 brand new kites for the price of 1 aluula, but at least you have a better wind range to ride in with the aluula. I’m saving $ for now, maybe by the time the XR Pro 2 comes out I’ll pick one up. Big ups! ✌️
get the new north orbit alula
Go for the normal XR, was able to test it a couple of weeks ago, absolutely amazing kite!
@@janvanbunningen6468 xr8 and xr pro, both fantastic and a big upgrade on the previous xr7,
@@janvanbunningen6468 cool, will do. Thanks
Would love to know how much „more“ that material really costs. Now everyone is just following duotones lead on pricing…
Ok let’s forget it’s an ad for an overpriced kite…
Damn that video is informative regarding shapes and key points to check while choosing a kite 🤩
Sailboat: $100,000 - no jumping. Kite quiver: $10,000 - big jumping.
Doood! Awesome for core - finally!!! But yeah price is insane... Kite looks sick tho... And yeah... Canada - Prolly carbon taxed the s**t out of it...
now I know its not my riding but my kite xD my best quiver would be gong 12-10-8 so I can still keep my kidney.. in all seriosness I am devoted to flysurfer because I think they have good development team, reliable kites and they release a new gen kite when there is noticable difference from previous gen - not like the trend to have atleast 1 new kite a year similar to iphones without noticable difference just make it more expensive. I mean for that price it could be hand forged by Giel himself..
love the last sentence 😂😂😂
I can tell there was no biased opinion here.
This is going to be so good for CORE, congrats.
Thanks for the feedback 🙏 I'll be sure to include a disclaimer in my next product related videos 🫡
The kite industry heading the direction of windsurfing.
Another example of Core´s Image is not for free price tag
Can not compare even
No. That’s why we choose Gong for our equipement. Kites, wings, boards, foils, etc
From beginning to end, that is an extremely informative video. Thanks for putting out this content Mike!
No kite is worth 3000 bucks, no matter how good. You can buy a car for that price.
I would not pay 2k for this. Around 2008 I got my hands on an OEM price listing (producer to company), you would fall off the chair, I did. Even if we take the time, inflation, and you name it into consideration, kite stuff is a scam, and it will go on like this, if we allow it. My 2 cents.
I wish there was a kite that cost $10,000+
It needs to be stronger
Thx mike, always the best advices and videos out there 🚀
My Ventum kites are still able doing a lot more kiteboarding tricks /specials then i ever can dream of ..... ( that's probably the same for 95% of all kitesurfers 😎 ) € 3000 a kite and € 800 a bar? 🤪 It's an insult for the real kitesurfspirit.
3000€ No it's not worth it, costs 4000€ with new mandatory bar 🤪
kite industry ist killing the sport like windsurf industry does...
i switched to GONG
"...85g/m2 UPE Aramid present on the leading edge and the struts..."
"10 m² for 1345€ Ayto Aramid DP Team Series"
half price double fun for the weekend kite warriors 😉
Prices are way too high and to be honest I and a lot of other people are going to have to give up kitesurfing if Prices get much higher
Nobody is forcing you to buy these aluula kites..? There are still plenty of normal priced kites to choose from.
Having 3 Duotone EVOs blow it's struts on me with 2 with no warranty coverage (which is a joke), I will gladly pay $3k to get Away from Duotone.
Oh yeah and add 2 bars and 1 board delaminating into the Duotone Kluster-*uck. Oh and the too thin bladders debacle too.
How's abööt an 84kg rider (it's all muscle, i swear!!!)???
I wish they would make 11m Pace
It's sickening actually, the prices got out of hand.
great video man! definitely can't justify 3k on any kite but I'm also not risking my life every session boosting to the moon. Awesome breakdown bru!
what a helpful video, as always thank you mike
What a shame to compare a kite to a D lab and say it breaks all the time.
Must be the special aluula they use in core kites 😂
$ 3k aint going to be a problem for the middle aged bald men riding Core at my spot. We've all seen them
great video Mike!
better use the money to spend time on the water
Absolutely not, these prices are going to kill the industry - exactly what happend with windsurfing
I love u mike
Your videos are the shit Mike - thanks so much for your support to the community!
Ah thanks so much Jaap!

@@gethighwithmike I've no idea really. social media just makes me a dic

Thanks for the review…very helpful
3k is stupid. And guess what. All around 3 strut kites from all brands tend to be easier and faster than 5 strut big air kites.
Like everything no way I’m paying 3000 for a kite and 1000 more for a bar then you use it and a day later you have 3 and have to sell your car.
ALUULA is very good I have two dlabs they are hard to beat they make me better when they fall apart I will just buy more or a core who knows
ALUULA is a quantum love it hate it other than cost you lose nothing
🔥🔥🔥
This Price IS ridiculous
3k is joke!!! sorry to said but kites are too expensive
Of course it is not worth it. Is like paying $200 for ice cream 🍦.
definitely not an unbiased opinion from Mike here. And 99% of the riders dont need these expensive kites, that s the truth.
Hey@@gethighwithmike , I have actually seen a good share of intermediate/advanced riders (i.e., that can do loops with some simple rotations) destroying Evo D-labs because they kept crashing them because they couldn't control them properly (Evo D-labs might not be the most durable kites around..)
Generally, unless you have the skills to fully enjoy an advanced piece of gear, it doesn't make too much sense buying it.
Of course, this is just my personal opinion!
tl:dw: no
Bunch of bollocks IMO. Marketing at its best.
You're sponsored and have dealership with Core. This video is BS but thanks for sharing specs.
Also, 3k is fucking stupid amount of money for the same kite that you can buy with an other brand for €800
Also, there are ZERO new design features and nothing new about this kite. Pully systems are as old as methusalem and constructing a thinner leading edge is also done 15 years ago by different kite brands.
Alua has been used 6 years ago aswell. Nothing new here, move on
Mike ur a genuine guy but this is just selling your soul like a cheap car salesman
XDXDXD
Someone wants to trade my used socks for an pace 🫣
