Great video! Made the Visa process so much less stressful! I think one more important thing I heard about the phone is that you need to call your phone carrier and have them "unlock" your phone before flying to Vietnam in order for the SIM card to work with your phone.
eSIM companies are very popular right now and a good option.

You may wonder if there are Vietnam travel insurance requirements. As of May 15, 2022, Vietnam has ended its COVID-19 entry restrictions; this includes the requirement for international medical insurance. Travel medical insurance is now optional to visit Vietnam, and the previous requirement to fill out a health declaration form and present a negative COVID-19 PCR test has ended.
Currently, the only requirement for tourists to visit Vietnam is to obtain an eVisa (required for American and Canadian travelers), which can be done online.
I’m bad with English. Do you mean they won’t ask for Travel and Health Insurance anymore?

Foreigner walk-in doctor visit at a Public Hospital is around $4.00 (pay on entry). Don't get sucked into a "Foreigner" type doctor unless you are getting a cut skin treatment.
@@aliecanthrowb they won't ask about covid or require quarantine or test, but I think the insurance thing is and has always been part of visit there. You can get it for just the trip days, and it's always a good idea to have the insurance in a foreign country...That's my opinion

Just returned from HCMC on a 30 day evisa almost two weeks ago. Also had a smooth no hassle experience getting through immigration. Coiuldn't buy a sim card as none of the vendors were open. It was a big public holiday 1/5. The airport was so deserted compared to pre covid traffic. I finally got my pho bo fix after a 2.5 year abscence. Very few tourists but lots of ex pats. And most important Number Five bar was still a going concern.

Hi Gabi, Nice step by step video. Noticed you flew drone at the end of your video. Do you have any video which walks through the drone application process? I checked online and the law is confusing.
DRONE laws in VN are developing and if you ever find a Cop likely they don't know. For latest info go to drone vendor.
Well i did get visa in 3 days, arrival port hanoi and my connecting flight was via Danang, i was not allowed to board the flight from Bangkok as the first port was not Hanoi even tho i booked connecting flight, was a bit cheaper, but yea end up paying heaps for new flight " so headsup fellow travellers as policies hv changed " which is what i was told 🤔

Spend 2 weeks trying to get evisa kept getting told it is in processing, never happened so ended up getting stung for $500 AUSTRALIAN to get a visa on the day of flight, and it seems they get many people with this scam

Great video thanks. Im going to Vietnam for 20 days. I intend to visit Phnom Pehn un Cambodia for two days too, while im based in Ho Chi Minh City. Does that mean i will have to buy a multiple entry visa to covsr 1) original entry flying in from the UK and then 2) to get back to Ho Chi Minh? Oct 26th 7pm PST... got my e-visa. I sent my application Oct 21st PM (5 or 7pm?). Took about 96hours (4 business days to process...they are a day ahead of Vancouver).

I am in Vietnam now. My visa is a standard tourist entry for 15 days. I understand that is the max for Canadians for a standard entry.
It took 96 hours to get the acceptance email.....not 72 at stated on the email.
Couple of hints:
Take about $20 worth of VND in your pocket before leaving your country, dont use USD for initial Sim or taxi purchase at the airport. At the airport...you will get ripped if you use USD.
Check on the grab ap how much a taxi is to your hotel so you can measure the price with a taxi driver canvassing you at the airport.
2nd, get a Sim card and be comfortable with Google translate. Vietnam is not great with English.
3rd exchanging money at a jewelry store gives a better rate than bank. Make sure you use big bills that are in good condition

I actually am only here about 10 days. However, my understanding is a "standard" entry visa is 15 days. For durations longer, there might be more involved. Regardless, I followed the directions for the visa in the video.
1hr ago, just had an amazing seafood feast, 5 dishes: bbq'ed scallops, oysters, squid, snapper, salad with drinks and coffee 38 CAD. My wife and i are STUFFED But... If you want to go real cheap you can. I just don't trust the sanitation for super-duper cheap street food in Vietnam

You pay for the Grab by cash. If you have a link with a crypto wallet app then pay through that app. I always pay by cash ☺️

MAI LINH (Green) & VINATAXI (Yellow) are good cab companies. VINASUN (White) should be avoided. ONLY USE TAXIS WITH METERS ON DASH BOARDS. Many pirate taxis hand out in tourist areas.

Hello Gabi, thanks for the video. May I know how long did you actually wait for the eVisa to be issued? I applied on the morning (8 am) of Nov 16 (Wed) from Hong Kong (which is 1 hour ahead of HCM City) and I expect to arrive at HCM City on 21 Nov. My flight is 8 am. I will need my company's printer to print the eVisa so I am a bit worried now as it shows it is still in progress...
