- The full episode of HIGNFY with Jimmy Saville and Diane Abbott - (S17E07) as originally broadcast (Full Episode) - Interesting from about 19:30 note look on Ian Hislop's face, when asked what Jimmy 'does' in his caravan - "Anyone I can get my hands on" Note the look on his face, he looks down when he says it - Very telling indeed !!
The grief and battering Angus deaton got and look what jimmy was doing
Cos Jimmy was in with the royal family
Yeah you’re right but you have to remember the difference is no one could actually say it to jimmy because he was dead mate 😂
@@Maxmorris12Rumour has it that he wasn't dead at the time of this recording.
@elvisleeboy Of course he was. You can pass away and still be on. Have I got news for you 😂

Savile
20:27 The moment I got creeped out.
In spite of the fact that Savile was then and always had been a creep, how fantastic HIGNFY was with Angus in charge. Paul & Ian were both funny then too
No. This can't be excused. This is footage of the BBC enabling a child rapist
Now then
Dianne Abbot is reckoned to be something of an eejit but look at her expression, she sussed him out.
I thinks she's only considered an idiot by racist misogynists
She was more clued up and with it back then.
Even Abacus ain't that thick.
I swore when Savile said about the girls schools.
Pay attention to Ian Hislop's expressions, he knew and is uncomfortable, avoid eye contact.
Definitely!
He certainly looks uneasy.
Ian said he knew nothing about Savile, but he felt very uncomfortable
@@stephenoliver958 It's possible he knew, or at least had a feeling, but could never prove anything...
@@RowanDrake47 Still seems strange he would agree to having him on the show? If anyone had inside information on him, you would think it would be Ian Hislop? They refused to have him on Children in need, why did they take it seriously, when others didn't?
18:38 This moment interests me, a lot. Angus is heading somewhere, it's a loaded question. But Savile interrupts the train of thought with an unorthodox technique of refusing, accepting, building and blocking. It's something which actors learn for improv skills, I trained in it and recognised it instantly. You basically have four options in response to cues; accept and block, accept and build, refuse and block, refuse and build. But Savile somehow managed to combine all of those conflicting elements into one response. He accepted the cue on the subject of Margaret Thatcher, but refused the conversation by focussing on an irrelevant anecdote which shifted attention. He blocked the line of questioning, yet built upon the subject to his own purpose. The ultimate outcome was refusing and blocking, but he did it by combining elements which should not naturally meet. The speed in which he was able to recognise and deal with that situation is not as simple as it may seem. He was smarter than people took him, and it fascinates me that he was able to steer that conversation and avoid any one of those sharp minds present picking up the baton and running with the Margaret Thatcher line of conversation. Don't get me wrong, I don't admire the scumbag for being able to do that. But I note his intelligence, and it's a very telling moment where he demonstrates how he got away with his sick crimes when most others would have been busted decades before. He had very sharp linguistic skills, he talked his way out of situations. Look closely at his eyes, just before he responds to Angus's question. He saw where that was heading, and got in there instantly to divert it.
you're reading a great deal into him rambling into an anecdote and nobody giving enough of a shit to challenge him on it
A bit like when he produced a banana in a certain interview to produce a similar effect.
He did do a lot of deflection when posed with difficult questions although in this case it was most probably a stock answer he had prepared when people asked him about Mrs T.
The Savile jokes were pretty dark and twisted and revealing but I think the audience loved it partly because the show was full of smutty and sleazy jokes and inuendo, if he'd blurted that out on Blue Peter it would have seemed totally wrong or worrying but he could slip it in on a show like this and it just sounded like he was just being outrageous and daft when he was actually deadly serious.
Yeah - the "I'm feared in every girls' school in the country" does kind of "work" when you're talking about being a male wrestler who loses a lot of matches - the audience took it to mean he was really bad at matches, but he was being deadly serious.
He dropped his sleazy jokes just about every interview he did
Imagine if this was filmed in Yorkshire close to were he lived
Then we would definitely tell the difference with the audience in the background they won't even came
Because he raped kids and adults
Bro he got called out by a kid in hospital on camera and then mocked that kid
Nah bulls*t, how in 1999 someone got away with this in plain sight is a disgrace. BBC, anyone who knew (excusing the victims), anyone who enabled.
At 9.38, Deayton says "you used to be a wrestler didn't you?" To which Saville replies "still am, I'm feared in every girls school in this country"....
Coming Angus who snorted cocaine and had sex prostitutes.
ugh, the creepiness wasn't missed by the other panelists. I only wish he'd passed rotting in a cell rather than before the allegations came to light. Given he only seemingly had fame to save him in the public record of accounts, i dread to think of what other famous people are getting up to or what he had on other powerful people to keep himself from prosecution.
He says that all the time, was his go to phrase, nothing new love
@@RJ-wx3fh A lot of it was probably exaggerated, people love to jump on the bandwagon to get there 5 minutes of fan, it's pathetic really, Louis Theroux's career was back of having one interview with him

hiding in plain sight with his “risqué” jokes
Think about the question they are asking Jimmy? 20.27 What do you do in the caravan? They already know the answers and are baiting him to see how he will answer on air. Who else would get asked what they do in their caravan?
Assuming the drama is accurate I guess this when he was turning up at the BBC with a caravan in the car park
tbf they don't often have guests who lived in a caravan for twelve years
Margaret Thatcher knighted Jimmy Saville.
So as a wrestler Jimmy was kicked in the bollocks, clearly not hard enough!
It’s a shame Angus can’t return as a presenter even as a guest.
Iain didn’t look happy with his team mate.

Wow - they certainly went for the very dodgy guests on this one.
HaIGNFY never been as good since Angus left
Did not leave, he was sacked.
I liked Angus, but there have been many, many funny shows since he was replaced (tonights was a good example).
I disagree. I think Ian and Paul rallied after he was sacked, and their rivalry shifted into friendship.
Plus putting aside the amazing 1 off hosts like Brian Blessed, Bruce Forsyth, Tom Baker and William Shatner the likes of Kirsty young and Martin Clunes have been great hosts who interact much better with Paul and Ian.

I feel revolted looking at that national disgrace. I don’t care for Savile much either.
I wonder how many of the participants on the show knew of the rumors about Savile at this point . Did Hislop have any idea about the accusation about Jimmy at this point ?
Look at his expression, I think he does know he looks absolutely disgusted
They all did, but because of the power Saville had it was not easy to do anything about it. That's why he got away with it for so long. You have to see the reactions for example when Saville says "I'm feared in every girl's school in the country." There's more than the usual "lol ok.."

What?
This episode aged about as well as Diane Abbott did.
Jimmy savile is very old
Sir Jimmy went to heaven in 2012.
They all knew the rumours. All of them. I remember when I was a kid, my Mum was a nurse at the local hospital and when JS visited they were all warned to keep away from him. These guys knew the rumours, knew they were almost certainly true, and they failed to hold him to account. They held BJ to account when he was on, why not JS?
Because with Boris there was evidence they could use. There's a recording of him and Guppy getting details to beat up a journalist. There's records of him getting sacked from multiple jobs. No matter how strongly they believed the rumours, they were just that.
you`re wrong, they perhaps all new the rumours but didn`t know the detail of this horrid man. At the time BJ had only been around for 5 minutes and still made an arse of himself and yet people (the gulible) still voted for him..
Because they were scared of him. Rich, powerful, seen as a force for good with his charity fundraising, friends within the Royals, the PM and the police with lawyers like Rottweilers. One failed attempt to prove these rumours and he could have ended their careers in a heartbeat, meanwhile he was untouchable.
