My very first study bible was the old scofield study bible. It actually was the very first study bible ever. I still have it and it is falling apart. We are so blessed to have so many awesome resources. Great video
Thank you Nicki, I loved the video. I am going to work on getting the NIV Quest study bible. I think it will be very helpful to me. There's lots of time to study these days. You are a blessing :)
I have the life application (NIV) and the Quest study Bible, and I almost always find myself using the Quest study bible. To be fair, I am on the move a lot, and my Quest is a hardcover, so I do tend to consider the durability of it since I bring it with me everywhere 😏, but I still feel like I get a more comprehensive explanation of the meaning of the scripture in the Quest, where in the Life Application, it seems more focused on trying to balance the Bible explanations to modern life, if that makes any sense. For that reason, I prefer the Quest. The Life Application was my first Bible when I came to the faith, but I sought out the Quest for deeper understanding. I think Life Application is an excellent starter for new believers, but IMHO, Quest allows for more deeper study.
Hi Nicki! I have both the Quest and the HCSB Life Application Study Bible, but I kinda like my Quest better. I wish the Teen Bibles were made for Adults I like the way they are written, they make it so much easier to understand things better. Some days I have the attention span of a knat, and I need a more simplified Bible.
I have both of these and agree-they are different but both wonderful. My favorite study bibles are ESV Study Bible and NIV Cultural Background study Bible. The cultural study bible provides historical and cultural background to the scripture that I find really provides context, especially in the OT.
Zondervan publishes it-they have it in a few different versions and carry it on Christianbook.com and probably Amazon. It’s great!!

Great Video even though it is older. I have both of the Study Bibles you are showing ~ Quest and the Life Application Study Bible (HCSB). I have many Study Bibles, but I really like the HCSB Translation. The HCSB Bullet Notes and the Christian Worker's Resource in the Life Application Study Bible is Wonderful 👍.
I purchased an outdated Quest Study Book for $6 on Amazon and it was it great conditions! Added some washi tape because the previous owner had tabs and the tabs ripped some of the pages so now I’ve personalized it and gave it a face lift! So far I’m loving all the extra information! I also have Tyndale Thrive Bible. My first Bible I purchased in August 2019 and it’s the Young Women of Faith Bible. That was the first Bible the finally made it click and I didn’t know study bibles existed until not too long ago. So happy that RUclipsrs like you Nikki and other WOG are sharing their opinions and sharing what we readers may be looking for. May God Bless You! 💜
Hi Nicki! I have both of these, and like you, love them both. I would say that the quest would be best for a brand new Christian, as it answers questions that popped into my mind as I first read my bible. I believe the she reads truth bible is a devotional bible. Great video! Dee
Yes Nicki, good video about using different styles of study bibles, life application bibles, and or different versions is what I like to read, that sometimes the KJ may be a little difficult to read, but always refer back to the KJ for the original text language and context to make sure the meaning doesn’t change in another version which I have found. And with all of the above is simpler than having all of the commentary’s and massive books
Oh my goodness, I'm sitting here eatting junk food and glued to your videos. * Note* Ebay has new bibles, a popular bible website has limited services right now during the pandemic. I'm slowly putting together my bible study binder. I'm jobless right now but i'm trusting god. I'm paid my bills in advance for 6 months, just sucks being almost broke. I can tell I'm going to be a loyal listener /viewer. What is your opinion on popular godly woman books?
I LOVE the Power of the Praying Woman/wife/mother/ etc. Any book by Stormie Omartian or Beth Moore is good! I also like Joyce Meyer's books. I seem to never have time to read but those three authors I've read several of and really like. ❤️
I have a King James Bible an A mother’s Devotional Bible. I looked at the NLT study Bible I’ve got one ordered. It seems to be easier to understand. I liked your video.
I DON'T like the NIV or Living Bible Translations. Not too wild about the ESV translation, either. Can a person get either the QUEST study Bible or the Life Application study bible IN either: the NEW King James translation, the NEW American Standard translation, or the Holman translation? Any of those, would be quite kewl, and useful. Thanks.
I have both the NIV Quest and the NIV Life Application study bibles (older versions) as well as the ESV Study bible (would love to get the HCSB Version, however I'm not financially able at the moment)
Oh, it's beautiful cover to cover. Inside and out. Kinda heavy...lol but love reading it and diagrams, charts, artifact pictures in color are gorgeous!!
That's strange, but I've got a different text of John 1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God..."(NIV Adventure Bible). Are you sure, you took NIV Life Application Study Bible (that is in black cover)?
Hey! Just came across your channel! I have an nlt life application study Bible and love it! I've been looking at the quest study Bible and I came across the teen essential Bible in hcsb on christianbook and thought it very interesting!
No fears No regrets EXTREME TEEN BIBLE just a future With a promise Most awesome Bible ever always remember God 🙏 bless God 🙏 provide Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever
A Bible that’s falling apart is the sign of someone who isn’t.
Johnathan, so true!
My very first study bible was the old scofield study bible. It actually was the very first study bible ever. I still have it and it is falling apart. We are so blessed to have so many awesome resources. Great video
Listening to you is awesome for someone who learns English. The way you speak is so super clear plus one can get great christian information.❤
I agree that we should own both the Life Application Bible & the Quest Bible. Infact I study them both side by side.
This is so awesome. I ordered a Life Application but I really really really want a Quest Study Bible too! Both have such amazing things inside ❤️
Thank you Nicki, I loved the video. I am going to work on getting the NIV Quest study bible. I think it will be very helpful to me. There's lots of time to study these days. You are a blessing :)

That makes perfect sense!! I feel it explains theological things much better too!!

I currently have a life application NLT, I had a Quest study Bible, but my 🐕 dogs seemed to like it better.
I love your videos. I just gave my life to Christ but as a poor person-no money, how can I get a bible like this?
Thanks so much. I have the Life Application, Quest Bible being delivered tomorrow. I don't have any Hcsb though. I thought this was very informative.
Hi Nicki! I have both of these, and like you, love them both. I would say that the quest would be best for a brand new Christian, as it answers questions that popped into my mind as I first read my bible. I believe the she reads truth bible is a devotional bible. Great video! Dee
Thanks Dee!!
Dan Geroe where can I purchase?
Wonder world, there should be links to both of the Bibles in the video down in the description box. Hope that helps!!
