Wow! I watched all 3 parts back to back while sipping some white wine. Excellent job on content/editing. I'm checked out in the Searey but haven't purchased yet. I enjoyed this Fantastic journey
Hi Kyle, really enjoyed sharing this journey with you . Its great to see cross country stuff like this along with the reality of refueling tasks and stop overs. Transitioning from the helicopter fraternity I am set on building a SeaRey in the very near future. I have been evaluating this little beauty over the last two years that ticks many different boxes for me. My heart sank at your alternator regulator pack failure and ive already added solutions to my own advisory list for emergency kit. What crossed my mind is that there is a lot of surface area on the wings and fuselage of a small aircraft such as this,. It would be feasible to add a couple of lightweight flexible high wattage solar panels somewhere which in essence could be enough in an emergency to keep at least keep the essential electrics sustained or recharge over a period on the ground to get you going for a while again. EG, a fuel pump flowing and fadec and radio operational. Also the new generation of lightweight high amp hour lithium batteries now available would and could assist in keeping you in the air with power for a good bit longer after a power generation failure. Thanks so much for taking the time to film and post these videos, they are very much appreciated. Good luck with your new project, regards Gavin, Edinburgh Scotland.
Thanks for filming the trip Kyle. Love your relaxed professional style, you clearly wear the aeroplane like a glove. I’ve got a Skyfox, which is great fun for mild bush flying but a Searay is definitely next on the list when I can find a good one. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
You should talk to Michael Smith from voyage of southern sun he lost charge on his journey I think it was the same problem. You think this issue ROTAX would have sorted by now🤷♂️
Ok so what has ROTAX done about it other than bring out the 915is have they forgot about 914 owners? Also great flying vids👍Amphib flying Very underrated and under appreciated when in reality it’s the best adventure flying available.
Nice Video! Interesting to see the inflight refuelling system
