  • Flying Cars and The Future of Aviation | Flying Vehicles | Air Taxis | ENDEVR Documentary from 2021
Episode 3: In this episode we examine advances in aviation that include flying cars being developed by Slovakian and Japanese companies. Rideshare companies are also considering aerial options, with Uber among those working on autonomous urban aircraft that will fly over congested roads to landing points in the center of cities. And as the skies of the future will be teeming with flying vehicles, suitable air traffic management is essential. We look at new systems to connect autonomous aircraft with each other and overarching traffic control. Finally, we explore a concept airliner of the future. Sustainable and flexible, it incorporates holograms and neural networks to provide a more engaging and relaxing flight.
ABOUT TECH EFFECT: The Tech Effect series is a portal to the future, a look at the forces and inventions that could shape us in the coming century. From e-sports to robotics, home automation to autonomous cars, this series examines the potential for cutting-edge technology to improve our lives, while not ignoring the risks. The Tech Effect will appeal to anyone curious about exploring the technological advances that are changing our world. Sophisticated and edgy, each theme-based episode profiles the innovations transforming contemporary life. By identifying the world’s most ingenious discoveries, we can unlock tomorrow, today.

Interesting concept! I can really see this happening. We are almost there!

I'm in aviation. We ARE NOT almost there. Not even close. The average person is not responsible enough to fly anything. Don't get me wrong. A TON of people will do it right but few will have a car/plane in the garage. Flight and heavy maintenance go hand in hand. Most people can't even change their oil on time let alone do it themselves. How many times have you seen cars that shouldn't be on the road or have minor damage here and there. If you are gonna put it in the air it needs to be fixed and fixed right. We rarely crash because of a catastrophic event. It's mostly a string of small events having nothing to do with each other that come together and down you go. Even with automated vehicles ground drivers will bring their skills and habits to the air or rather lack of them to the air.
Airlines need to go full automated first. Lots of kickback over the last 20 years but it is coming. From there it goes to smaller planes. Public transportation is next and that is where we will spend decades getting ready for individual normal drivers. I think it's going to take just short of 100 years to get there. Infrastructure will take time. A lot of time. We had a few helicopters going full electric testing at our base. 5 years on and they are still saying they are not even halfway done with testing. Humans are not ready for widespread 5th Element action yet. The drones are almost here. They will help setup the infrastructure but it will take decades to be common place. Remember A LOT of people will lose their jobs the closer we get. There is somewhat of an artificial hold up going on as we speak because of that.

Become a "Taxi Droner".. This is the future. Droner means to drone or to fly.

With Uber, it's not so much solving gridlock on the ground, but in producing an unmanned vehicle. No driver or pilot means more dosh for Uber.

The ballistic parachute capable to deploy in low altitude on its own in a fashion similar to ejection seat will be required to slow down these contraptions unless you want a hole in the roofs of buildings whatever someone loses electric power above somebody's house.

Flying taxis would be great, allowing us to travel within cities without having to look at the homeless encampments below. And with technological breakthroughs allowing for ease of operation, low wage labor can be easily trained to fly them. As the technology becomes more refined, we would be able to eliminate the pilots entirely, moving them to the tent cities below with the rest of the unemployed.

Stark reality, rich personal toys for the rich. Autonomous flight control to zip around the city would be cool, or used as a daily commuter into the city. The homeless are there for a reason in California, and nothing to do with drone taxis. Cheap drugs, a social welfare system, and great climate make an indulgers dream, and nightmare addictions trap. Thank God California draws those willing to live on the streets. Back home there are no outdoor homeless in the winter. Free food and a cot as long as your sober, or not strung out. Every major city has one, otherwise the addicted would freeze to death. Drunk tanks still exist.
