Vaporwave has definitely become my favorite aesthetic the music and art style just gives me a really good comforting feeling I actually use the music to fall asleep to every night
That makes a lot of sense to me! It has a dreamlike quality to it. Some people call it "hypnogogic" music-which is music that's supposed to emulate the feeling between sleep and wakefulness.
Fantastic video, I'm glad the algorithm served it up.
I just got into vaporwave in December, I’m in a new era of my life and vaporwave is defining it for me. 10 years from now I’ll hear these same songs and reminisce at my second go around in starting a business. It’s beauty and poetry
Nice vid. This feels like a much larger channel
because of viewers like you, maybe it will be soon!
i was absolutely shocked when i look at your subscriber count !! your production is so professional. i hope you get big soon buddy you absolutely deserve it
Thanks, I really appreciate that! I don't do it for the stats, but I'm happy that people are getting value from the content
I don't know why RUclips recommended this to me. But nice video bro.
Thanks!
I love this stuff so much
This video was an incredible watch! You should put together a Spotify playlist in the description, that would be the cherry on top
That's a great idea! I am currently migrating my personal spotify into something cleaner and better organized for viewers.
How is this guy so small? This is fantastic!
Vaporwave is forever
Great video! I love when people talk about niche genres, that most people are not that much aware of. Have subscribed and look forward to the next video.
Thanks for the sub! Appreciate it!
Vaporwave is peak internet.
Good channel! Imagine finding someone who talks about both Disco and Vaporwave!! I am 65 and was introduced to Vaporwave in 2019 when an employee of mine started playing Floral Shoppe by Macintosh Plus. I had never heard such a style and that evening I went online an purchased the CD.
That's awesome! Thanks, man!
This is great video, I hope you have amazing success with you channel
Thank you! Working on it!
new sub, awesome video !
Great stuff! I really like how you focus on (as you say) sub/mini genres like City Pop or Psychedelic Cumbia. I've been thinking about how North American vinyl/music nerds (I mean that lovingly) have really embraced foreign subgenres lately. Psych cumbia, City Pop, and Italo disco all come to mind as hot ticket items at record stores. But Im sure there are other foreign subgenres that people have recently re-examined and embraced. (Would also love to see you do one on Italo disco haha)
Italo disco and West African funk are the two genres I'm slowly dipping into right now! It might take a second, but I'm sure I'll touch on Italo Disco in th near future
I know a banger video when I see one and this hits the mark good shit homie
Appreciate it!
This was fantastic! Vaporwave registers for me just how you described. Liminal spaces too. Maybe it's an uncanny valley thing?
Have you fallen down the back rooms wormhole too?
i miss the 2017/2018 vaporwave renaissance
it’s ECHO JAMS (ecco)
Thanks for the correction!
Great video! I've really liked your analyses so far; even though you're a small channel, you set the bar pretty high. Best of luck in the future!
Thank you! Comments like this keep me going!
what was the song used at 1:40?
It's called Akira by AGST-available on Spotify and Apple music I'm pretty sure
Make Music Great Again.
Anybody know the name of the song he showed us?
It's called Akira by AGST, I believe it's available on most streaming services
@@CharcuterieSound Thanks!
Vaporwave is synthpop at its core.
An evolution 40 years later.
There are too many microstyle's to worry about.
Those purists think inside boxes. And not outdide. There are no pure things ever. Everything is influenced in some way.
Those purists just want to hold onto something which will never be as good as the first time.
Vaporwave had it's time. And it's being replaced by a new generation of artists who make money on the new trend. Which will also be replaced by a new trend and so on.
