  • Exit Eden is an international symphonic metal supergroup that performs cover versions of well-known pop and rock songs.
I use the term "Opera singers" to generalize but I know they perform symphonic metal and even if they sing in different styles they are classically trained for the most part.

Clementine has her beautiful, airy vocals, Anna is full metal gal, and Amanda and Morena are just powerhouse vocalists. Loved the first album. Waiting patiently for them to find some more stuff to 'metal-ize'.

I discovered the group not long after their first video got released on youtube. And since then I bought myself a copy of their album and have been enjoying since. It's good to hear that they want to do another album, it gives us all something to look forward to later this year or next year at the latest. I like their cover of Total Eclipse the most, been waiting years for a metal version.

Skyfall is actually Simone Simmons of Epica doing the vocals as a guest vocalist....she blows Adele out of the water!

Pop singers are just that 99% come out of a factory and can't play an instrument cant wright a song just sing they are a distraction for the uninspired masses too keep them asleep while Metal singers are poets and scholars there music and lyrics speaks to your soul to evoke emotion blend Metal and Opera and you have an epic story now that's something special.

I discovered Amanda Somverville through her work with Epica. There was a similar project to Exit Eden several years ago called Northern Kings that featured male vocalists. I know Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica, Marco Hietala of Nightwish and Tarot, and the singer from Turisas were involved. There was a fourth, but I've forgotten his name.

Again, I have to say that the comparison, as far as that is here, is not fair. Exit Eden plays/sings heavy metal arrangements of pop song. So, it remains symphonic metal and the comparison falls short. Though I am pretty sure that these singers beat the pop artist they do the songs of. But it does not prove that the female symphonic metal singers are better than the female pop/rock singers. As I said before, both pop/rock and metal have their great singers and their terrible singers.
