    I never really paid a lot of attention to this skill, but (quite coincidentally) the other day I leveled up my assassin and decided to give it a chance, and even in it's most miserable form (no phoenix, no fort etc), it is now a fantastic 1pt wonder!
    It leeches pretty well, to the point that I can stand in the middle of normal mobs, do nothing and watch those orbs refill. And this is on a kick-trap hybrid that uses lawbringer and crescent moon phase blades, extremely low damage weapons.
    I'm pretty sure that fully leveled and synergised and with a strong physical weapon, i.e. death, the damage would be bananas. Will try it some time, I'm even much more curious about it after watching your video. Salud, ginger!

    Actually I did a budget build blades of ice with one point into bladeshield, they both benefit from venom and claw mastery. I'm using Bartuc's claw but looking for firelizard or chaos to deal 3 elements and won't care for immunes, Super Fun!

    I think the thing that's really holding the skill back is it's durablilty drain and not proccing CB or OW, although I'm not sure about on strike. Only really matters if you're using an un-zodded eth weapon but still, I like my phys damage lol.
    My last playthrough was a bladesin and had a shit ton of fun going through with her. Being able to use slow, one handed eth weapons due to not having to worry about IAS was super refreshing, as I could use all the weird uniques that had cool on striking effects but are considered trash.
    I dunno why people shit all over this build so much. Pretty easy to solo through Hell SSF too, you just have to be looking for stuff you wouldn't normally look for when they drop. Definitely not blitzing through the game like a javazon or hammerdin, but you have great survivability with fade, supplementary poison damage with venom, up to 5 throwable whirlwinds, corpse explosion, great single target DPS, blind and -def w/ cloak of shadows, and conversion with mind blast. All around a super fun and interesting build after the hundreds of runthroughs I've done of this game 😅😂

      Before 2.4, it's hinder by 2 factor: 1) it's short duration and 2) it only attack once every second, making it super annoying

      Yup venom does work with all three, and is highly reccomendes if you're doing a bladesin build as the damage is a nice bonus for the physical immunes you run into

  • @keldon_champion

    I see blade shield as a nice bonus to a bladesin because your going to maxing it and building for it anyways but for anything else it seems like a lot of points to spend for so little return. Even with a bladesin that build is so off meta that it is rarely seen for anything but a late ladder and non-ladder boredom build.

    Can I build a bear form assassin with something like an eBOTD Thunder Maul and just smack stuff slowly while applying a constant AOE damage with the Blade Shield? Also would bear form bonus damage apply, since I change into it after casting blade shield?
    Fixing AR would be tricky, but I saved a nice Visionary assassin circlet, and have a nearly perfectly rolled Metalgrid too, throw in some nice charms and should work.
    Or maybe use Beast as the mainhand weapon since it applies Fanaticism with its much needed stats (with burst of speed + fanaticism + mark of the bear you can hit 7 frame attacks)

      Sometimes they add new runewords or balance abilities starting with a new season, but I think for this upcoming season starting in a few weeks they haven't announced anything.

    Both Blade Shield and Blade Fury are one-point wonder. There is no reason to really invest into those spells.
    If you use Venom or get into melee. Blade Shield is a must. Either you invest 1 point or you cast it from claw with +skill on it.

    • @mikehawk8984
      @mikehawk8984 9 месяцев назад

      Clearly unless you're doing a bladesin, in which case you're going to be maxing both but only using shield if you don't have an eth weapon

    • @MaKs2K5
      @MaKs2K5 9 месяцев назад

      @@mikehawk8984 no need to max them, the damage of bladesin comes from Cblow and open wounds. Save those 38 points for venom and fade or fire blast for more detonation on death sentry

    • @kisekinecro
      @kisekinecro 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@MaKs2K5totally wrong. It totally worth investing pts into blade fury and blade sentinel as a bladesin. Venom is actually a bad investment for bladesin, especially for blade duey because of the attack speed and penalty. To start it lose 25% of it's original damage, on top of that venom has a duration of 10f, bf's attack speed is 6f per blade, so you would only get 60% of that 75% poison DMG when you hit the target with blade fury, ending up with only 45% of skill's initial damage. (75% x 60%). If you use 2hand weapon, it's 22.5% of original venom damage. Venom is just a one point wonder to prevent monster heal. In fact a poison SC would probably be better, or if you already have ow, you don't even need venom at all

    • @MaKs2K5
      @MaKs2K5 5 месяцев назад

      @@kisekinecro Blade Fury damage comes from Crushing Blow. Blizzard updated the skills to add synergies to it. But back then it was utterly useless to invest any but 1 point into it.
      The real deal is always and will always Corpse Explosion traps anyway to finish mobs

    • @kisekinecro

      @@MaKs2K5 we are in 2.6 now, so it's pointless to talk about "how shitty" it is pre 2.4. We can finish hell with bladesin and cleglaw's set nowadays. It is just that powerful.
      In fact even pre 2.4 blade fury isn't unless. For blade sentinel, yes, it was horrible, but definitely not blade fury. It was actually quite powerful, we just don't know enough about the skill. There's even people doing pvp with bladesin. I'd also play blade fury sin since 1.10 and it was always fun.
      And no, bf does not only relying on CB, while it helps but as missile cb effect was cut in half, just like Amazon's bow skill. Main drawback for blade fury was it's lack of AR implement while relying on AR
