For lots of people, the 60s wasn't a better time. As for the pool rack, all one guy had to do was pick up a rack from another table and test with that, instead of wasting time on the "small rack" from his table. Interesting to see that folks in the 60s - era of the space race - weren't any smarter than we are now.
Wow these videos are awesome. Man do they bring back memories. I'm 65, some of mine fondness childhood memories are watching this show with Dad,and Mom, and my brothers and sisters. I can still hear my Mom, and Dad, laughing. Thanks so much for the memories.
Then you have the trolls saying oh there were problems then too bla bla. Of course there were but things were simpler and you knew where you stood no BS’n your way through life. So I agree, born in 66’ I was a 70’s kid and 80’s young adult and those were by far much better times I’d go back in a hot second.
Yeah, funny thing is, we would probably do the same thing because the human mind checks everything until it finds a solution, even the most obvious things. The mind is actually checking that it (the mind) is still logical.
I agree. It was a time when women couldn't get credit cards of their own and schools were segregated, just to name a coupe of things. The good old times.
I wonder what year was this filmed? Early 60's, I would guess. Black and white TV was still the norm. But, I still noticed that practically noone had any tattoos or blue hair back then!😄
If you look under the title of the video where it shows how many views the video has and where it says more it will show you the year and your guess is correct, this was 1960's (1964).
Billiards is very popular here in the Philippines even with young kids using marbles on a homemade table. It would be fun to try some of these pranks on them.
The only reason I'm responding to this is to find out your mentality what exactly do you mean because there have always been people that are down and out if that's what you mean by bums but usually you don't see bums playing pool . As a rule.
@skyedog24 I took his use of the word “bums” to mean the drug addicted ilk living in tents and deficating on the sidewalks in San Francisco and Seattle and “take your pick”.
There were great lengths that were gone through to put those gags together. Wasn't just: go to the store, buy billiard balls and done. And then drilling holes in them! I thought you Funt boys were going to grow up doing special effects.🎥 Production is fun too. Just saying, imagine the gags he would do with todays tech?
Don't remember all the shows but one strands out. They take the engine out of a Volkswagen Bug and push it off a hill into a gas station!! The woman driving the car tells the attendant it's down on power! He says I'll check the engine! Google the video and see what happens!🙆🙄🤭
Do that today except use balls with iron cores and a strong electric magnet under the table. Turning the magnet on and off, to quickly stop the balls, during play.
Back then people smoked everywhere but church - restaurants, airplanes, on most tv shows and even in hospital patient rooms and waiting rooms. Cigarette manufacturers were the biggest advertisers on television and even kids could go into stores and buy cigarettes. Cigarette vending machines were everywhere you went. Hard to believe but all true - I was there.
Nice to see a dad spending quality time with his son. My dear old dad used to take me to the pool hall back in the day. Everyone smoked. He also swore. 😂 let the pearl clutching begin!
Grew up in the 60'S way better time than now!

What? You are not ready for Chicago Riots episode II?
@@cosmicraysshotsintothelight I couldn't care about them any less. 50's - 60's were way, way better
@@FISHH00KS Wow... That one certainly went right over your head.

Same here, some of the best times, watching with my family and laughing historically together.
Voices never dissapear,only humans.
Man be tough,We need you or whoever is close
Same here. I'm 60.
Interesting to see how neatly dressed everyone was back in the day.
Not a flip-flop or ugly man-foot to be found... Interesting concept... long pants and shoes... ;-P
People had pride in how they dressed - and shame when they looked sloppy

And they all wore belts.
I see not all groups are represented
The undersized triangle is excellent-it's hilarious. They keep switching the balls around, thinking they must be in the wrong place. LOL.

What a great gag..lol.
Such good looking people. The good old days
Not one minority in sight, right? The good old days!
Just making the triangle one inch smaller was simple, but very effective!
This is when America was really great!!
Make America great again. MAGA 🇺🇸

Things like this make us question our sanity!
Good old classic Candid Camera. They knew how to prank people and Allen Funt’s commentary is perfect.
Funny funny stuff. 👍
Lol!! That was too funny! I needed a good laugh before getting ready for work today. 😀😀😀
🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it! What a great prank!
Allan Funt made this great with his ad-libbing!😅😂
Love classic CC, I cud watch this all day!

Temu selling billiard triangles in the 60's.
Oh we got trouble... right here in River City... ;-P
Don’t know why they don’t always show the part when they are told they are on Candid Camera, many times that is the FUNNIEST PART!😅
Great stuff.
Pretty funny! 😃

It's all about the commentary from the observer. LMAO
so many of those men were so good looking
Hilarious.
C'est ce qui s'appelle: être fou de billard.😅😅😉😉👍👍
It's interesting to see not one fat human back in the day
No one could think this up in 2025!👏
Not even a computer.

They had to be a bit careful with this one, Id imagine! Lot of serious, "no foolin'" people I'm sure they had to navigate!
The narrator sounds slightly pissed.
Good thing Harvey wasn't there.
Clean fun. Not like the "so called" pranks of today.
The commentator sounds like Leonard Bernstein...?
